당신의 제자들에게 내어 쫓아 주기를 구하였으나 저희가 능히 못하더이다. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 믿음이 없고 패역한 세대여 내가 얼마나 너희와 함께 있으며 너희를 참으리요 네 아들을 이리로 데리고 오라 하시니 올 때에 귀신이 거꾸러뜨리고 심한 경련을 일으키게 하는지라 예수께서 더러운 귀신을 꾸짖으시고 아이를 낫게 하사 그 아비에게 도로 주시니

Luke 9:40-42

I begged your disciples to drive it out, but they could not.""O unbelieving and perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you and put up with you? Bring your son here." Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the evil spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father.

한 아버지가 귀신들린 그의 아들을 고치려고 예수님의 제자들에게 데려왔으나 그들은 그 귀신을 쫓아내지 못했다. 그 때 예수님께서 오시어 제자들의 믿음없음을 꾸짖고 귀신에게 명하여 나가게 하였습니다. 그 아이가 심한 경련을 일으킨 후에 치유되었습니다. 왜 제자들은 그 귀신을 쫓아내지 못했을까? 예수님은 제자들의 믿음이 적은 연고라고 말씀하셨습니다. 제자들의 믿음이 더 강했더라면 그 귀신은 쫓겨나갔을 것이다.

더 강한 믿음이 무엇이겠는가? 그 제자들은 오직 예수님을 구원자로 믿고, 철저히 예수님의 말씀에 순종하고, 회개하는 삶을 살았어야 했던 것이다. 주님의 말씀에 열심히 순종하는 자처럼 보여도 부분적으로 죄를 짓고 회개치 않을 경우, 그는 부분적으로 사탄의 권세 아래 놓여있는 것이다, 그러므로 이런 자들을 통해 성령께서 완전하게 일 할 수 없는 것이다.

요한복음 5:14

그 후에 예수께서 성전에서 그 사람을 만나 이르시되 보라 네가 나았으니 더 심한 것이 생기지 않게 다시는 죄를 범치 말라 하시니

주님께서 오래 된 중풍병자를 고쳐주셨습니다. 며칠 후에 예수님께서 그를 만나 이렇게 경고하셨습니다. ”너는 더 심한 병에 걸리지 않기 위해서 다시는 죄를 짓지 말라.“ 예수님게서는 그의 중풍병을 완전하 치유해주셨다, 그가 다시 죄의 삶을 살 때 그는 더 심한 질병에 걸린다는 것을 경고하신 것입니다. 질병과 죄는 이처럼 밀접한 관계 있다. 모든 질병은 죄를 회개하고 주님의 말씀에 순종하라는 주님의 징계인 것입니다. 질병에 걸렸을 때 자신의 삶을 철저히 돌아보고, 죄를 깨닫고 회개하고 순종하려고 힘쓸 때 주님께서 그를 질병에서 신속히 놓여나게 하십니다.

그러나 끝까지 회개치 않는 자는 주님께서 그를 지옥에 던지시고 영원히 형벌 받게 하십니다. 하나님의 자녀가 회개와 순종없이 질병만 치유받고 자 할 때 그 질병은 더 심해지는 것이다.

요한복음 9:2-3

제자들이 물어 가로되 랍비여 이 사람이 소경으로 난 것이 뉘 죄로 인함이오니이까 자기오니이까 그 부모오니이까 예수께서 대답하시되 이 사람이나 그 부모가 죄를 범한 것이 아니라 그에게서 하나님의 하시는 일을 나타내고자 하심이니라.

때로는 하나님의 능력을 보이고자 연약함과 질병이 인간에게 오는 경우 있다, 주님이 그를 치유하고 주님의 능력이 어떠함을 세상에 알리는 것입니다. 기적이나 질병 치유를 통해, 주님은 하나님을 알지 못하는 자들에게 하나님의 살아계심을 알게 하는 것입니다. 모든 질병은 하나님을 알지 못하고 죄를 짓고 회개하지 않기 때문에 오는 결과인 것입니다. 하나님께서는 여러가지 질병과 치유를 통해 모든 인간들이 예수를 믿기 원하고 회개하고 순종하기를 원하십니다.

지은 죄와 질병의 정도가 반드시 정비례하는 것은 아니다. 때로는 주님이 자녀의 부모를 회개시키기 위해 그의 자녀에게 질병을 주실 수도 있습니다. 모든 인간은 죄인이다, 모두가 회개하고 주님의 말씀에 순종하고 천국에 가는 것이 주님의 뜻이다. 주님은 모든 백성이 타인의 질병과 어려움을 보고 모두가 죄를 깨닫고 회개하고 순종하기를 원하십니다.

누가복음 13:4-5

또 실로암에서 망대가 무너져 치어 죽은 열 여덟 사람이 예루살렘에 거한 모든 사람보다 죄가 더 있는줄 아느냐 너희에게 이르노니 아니라 너희도 만일 회개치 아니하면 다 이와 같이 망하리라

주님은 예루살렘에 있는 많은 백성이 회개하기를 원하여, 주님은 망대가 무너져 18명이 죽는 사고를 그들에게 허락하신 것입니다. 그 사고를 보고 자신의 죄를 깨닫고 회개하는 자들은 구원을 받고, 회개치 않는 자들은 결국 다 멸망하고 지옥으로 간 것이다.

A father brought his demon-possessed son to Jesus’ disciples to be healed, but they could not cast him out. Then Jesus came and rebuked the disciples for their lack of faith and commanded the demon to come out. After the boy had a severe convulsion, he was healed. Why couldn’t the disciples cast out the demon? Jesus said it was because the disciples had little faith.If the disciples had had stronger faith, the demon would have been cast out.

What would be stronger faith? The disciples should have believed only in Jesus as their savior, thoroughly obeyed Jesus’ words, and lived a life of repentance. Even if they seem to diligently obey the Lord’s words, if they partially commit sins and do not repent, they are partially under the power of Satan, and therefore the Holy Spirit cannot work completely through such people.

John 5:14

Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, "See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you."

The Lord healed a paralytic who had been paralyzed for a long time. A few days later, Jesus met him and warned him, “Sin no more, so that you do not get a worse one.” Jesus completely healed his paralysis, but warned him that if he lived a life of sin again, he would get a worse one. Sickness and sin are so closely related. All sickness is the Lord’s discipline to repent of sin and obey His words.

When someone is sick, if they thoroughly reflect on their life, realize their sins, repent, and strive to obey, the Lord will quickly release them from their sickness. However, if they do not repent to the end, the Lord will cast them into hell and punish them forever. When a child of God seeks only healing from a disease without repentance and obedience, the disease will get worse.

John 9:2-3

His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.

Sometimes, weakness and illness come to a person to show God's power. The Lord heals him and shows the world how powerful He is.

Through miracles or healing diseases, the Lord lets those who do not know God know that God is alive. All illnesses are the result of not knowing God, committing sins, and not repenting. Through various illnesses and healings, God wants all people to believe in Jesus, repent, and obey.

The degree of sin and illness are not necessarily proportional. Sometimes, the Lord may give illness to a child in order to make the child's parents repent. All people are sinners, and it is the Lord's will that everyone repent, obey the Lord's words, and go to heaven. The Lord wants all people to see the illness and difficulties of others, realize their sins, repent, and obey.

Luke 13:4-5

Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them--do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

The Lord wanted many people in Jerusalem to repent, so He allowed the tower to collapse and kill eighteen people. Those who saw the accident and realized their sins and repented were saved, while those who did not repent were ultimately destroyed and went to hell.
