How are you going these day? Are you on summer vacation?
I prepared one interesting topic for you. Now Gangwon province is conducting a survey about "nude beach in Gangreung and Goseong" Queit surprising idea!
Gangwon province will conduct a survey this summer to find out whether Korea is ready for its first nude beach, which would be somewhere on the east coast. The move is in step with the recent "well-being" trend, said an official at the East Sea Rim Branch Office under the Gangwon provincial government. The east coast is known for its fine beaches, and now Gangwon wants to develop a "differentiated" resort ―where people can swim in the sea and soak up the sun without the encumbrance of swimsuits. The office said it would survey visitors to east coast beaches from July 10 to Aug. 20 to see if Koreans would want a nude beach like those in France or Australia. Based on the results, the office will begin a search for the right place. The nude beach would be at a secluded and undeveloped spot, the office said, instead of an existing beach facility. The ages and numbers of visitors would be strictly controlled. This is not the first time that such an idea has surfaced in Korea. Similar proposals date to the 1990s, but were always rejected by public opinion, which concluded it was too soon. Eager nudists should be warned, though: For the time being, anyone attempting to go nude on a local beach would be subject to lewd behavior charges.
Q1) Do you know about Nude beaches?
Q2) Will you go to the Nude beach if you have a chance or if Korea really makes a Nude beach?
Q3) Do you agree or oppose on making a Nude beach in Korea?
Q4) What would be needed to make the Nude beach in Korea successful?
Here is one article about "Asiana strike continues" which was issued August 01, 2005 in JoongAng Daily. As you guys know that this strike by its unionized pilots as the walkout crippled flight operations and threatened the nation's exports for a sixteenth consecutive day. Also lots of travelers who are to go overseas with Asiana can not but cancel their itinerary because of the strike. I think that it is one of the biggest issues that are happening in Korea so I choosed and I made some questions. Even though this problem is a little too hard to discuss, let's concern our society. Okay. Here we go.
August 01, 2005 - Striking pilots and Asiana Airlines management met over the weekend but failed to reach an agreement, and Asiana said it was prepared to maintain a dramatically reduced flight schedule into the fall.
The strike enters its 16th day today. Yesterday, 13 international flights out of 117 were cancelled, and 88 domestic flights out of 175 were cancelled.
In talks that began Saturday and continued into Sunday morning, management refused the pilot union's demand that three union members be involved in the airline's pilot evaluation process.
Asiana made what it said was its final offer, which included 960 hours of required annual flying time, down from 1,000 hours, and 75-percent pay for time pilots spend on a return flight without working.
Management recently announced that it would dramatically reduce its flight schedule for August, and said that it was determined to stand fast against the union, since the vacation season is approaching an end.
"Depending on the situation, we might maintain the reduced number of flights until the end of October," said an administrative officer at Asiana. One union member said, "Management is prolonging the strike so that the government will eventually arbitrate."
Some observers said there was a conflict among the pilots between Air Force veterans and pilots who learned the job at Asiana's flight training center. Asiana's unionized members are mostly from the flight training center; most Air Force veterans working for the airline have not joined the union.
"There are problems related to former Air Force pilots, but they are not the essential reason for this strike," said union spokesman Lee Sang-jun.
Q1) What do you think about the strike of Asiana Airlines Pilots Union?
Q2) Do you agree with their strike for their demands? If so why? Of you are against, why?
Q3) What do you think about the demand of Asiana Pilots Union?
Q4) Do you know exactly what they demand for their securities or rights?
Q5) Asiana Airlines Inc. asked for government intervention July 25, 2005 to end a strike. Is this a appropriate action?
Q6) You can tell us your opinion about this event.
