성경말씀: 사무엘 하 21장

Scripture Reading: 2Samuel 21

본문에 “다윗의 시대에 해를 거듭하여 삼 년 기근이 있으므로 다윗이 여호와 앞에 간구하매 여호와께서 이르시되 이는 사울과 피를 흘린 그의 집으로 말미암음이니 그가 기브온 사람을 죽였음이니라(21:1)” 하셨는데, “네 하나님 여호와께서 너를 인도하사 네가 가서 차지할 땅으로 들이시고 네 앞에서 여러 민족 헷 족속과 기르가스 족속과 아모리 족속과 가나안 족속과 브리스 족속과 히위 족속과 여부스 족속 너보다 많고 힘이 센 일곱 족속을 쫓아내실 때에, 네 하나님 여호와께서 그들을 네게 넘겨 네게 치게 하시리니 그 때에 너는 그들을 진멸하라 그들과 어떤 언약도 하지 말 것이요 그들을 불쌍히 여기지도 말라(신7:1-2)” 하신 말씀과 반대가 되는데, 어떻게 해석해야 될까요. 하나님께서 사람들처럼 때에 따라 다른 말을 하는 분일까요? “그는 변함도 없으시고 회전하는 그림자도 없으시니라(약1:17)” 하였듯, 하나님은 영원히 변함이 없으시므로 하나님께서 선포하시고 기록하신 말씀의 외면적 의미와 하나님께서 처음부터 가르치시려는 실체적인 뜻은 전혀 다르다는 뜻입니다.

The Scripture of today, as During the reign of David, there was a famine for three successive years; so, David sought the face of the Lord. The Lord said, ‘It is on account of Saul and his blood-stained house; it is because he put the Gibeonites to death (21:1)” The exactly opposite of the text in Deuteronomy, as “When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations-the Hitites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations large and stronger than you-and when the Lord your God has delivered them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy (Deuteronomy7:1-2)” How should we interpret these two contradictory words? Id God, like ma, someone who speaks different words at different times? Of cause not, because God said it, as “Who does not change like shifting shadows (James1:17)” Therefore, the outward meaning of the Words that God declared and recorded in the Bible, and the meaning that God intended to teach us were completely different from the beginning. Because of the providence of faith and salvation that God has established in Christ.

그러므로 “네 하나님 여호와께서 그들을 네게 넘겨 네게 치게 하시리니 그 때에 너는 그들을 진멸하라 그들과 어떤 언약도 하지 말 것이요 그들을 불쌍히 여기지도 말라(신7:2)” 하신 것은, 가나안 7족을 모두 멸망시키고 제거하라는 뜻이 결코 아니었고, “제단을 헐며 주상을 깨뜨리며 아세라 상을 불사르고 또 그 조각한 신상들을 찍어 그 이름을 그 곳에서 멸하라(신12:3)” 하셨듯, 그들의 그릇된 믿음과 우상들과 제단들을 모두 멸하여 제거하라는 뜻이었을 뿐 사람을 죽이거나 멸망시키라는 뜻이 결코 아니었으며, “그들과 혼인하지도 말지니 네 딸을 그들의 아들에게 주지 말 것이요 그들의 딸도 네 며느리로 삼지 말 것은, 그가 네 아들을 유혹하여 그가 여호와를 떠나고 다른 신들을 섬기게 하므로 여호와께서 너희에게 진노하사 갑자기 너희를 멸하실 것임이니라. 오직 너희가 그들에게 행할 것은 이러하니 그들의 제단을 헐며 주상을 깨뜨리며 아세라 목상을 찍으며 조각한 우상들을 불사를 것이니라(신7;3-5)” 하였듯, 그들의 그릇된 믿음을 따르고 하나님을 잊어버리는 죄에 빠지지 않게 하시려는 하나님의 사랑이었습니다.

Therefore, God was commanded, as “When the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show no mercy (Deuteronomy7:2)” But, it did not to kill and destroy all seven Canaan nations, but to remove and annihilate their sinful idols, false gods, and customs only, as “Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, burn down their Asherah poles in the fire; cut down the idols of their gods and wipe out their names from those places (Deuteronomy12:3)” Because of this to prevent them from falling into the sin of forgetting and turning away from God by their wrong beliefs or customs, as “Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, for they will you’re your sons away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you. This is what you are to do to them: Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut down their Asherah poles and burn their idols in the fire (Deuteronomy7:3-5)”

그래서 “종들은 당신의 하나님 여호와의 이름으로 말미암아 심히 먼 나라에서 왔사오니 우리가 그의 소문과 그가 애굽에서 행하신 모든 일을 들으며, 그가 요단 동쪽에 있는 아모리 사람의 두 왕들 헤스본 왕 시혼과 아스다롯에 있는 바산 왕 옥에게 행하신 모든 일을 들었음이니이다(수9:9-10)” 하는 기브온 사람들의 화친 요청에, “어떻게 할지를 여호와께 묻지 아니하고, 여호수아가 그들과 화친하여 그들을 살리리라는 조약을 맺고 회중 족장들이 그들에게 맹세하였더라(수9:14-15)” 하였듯, 하나님의 뜻을 묻지 않고 화친을 맺어 살려주는 맹서를 했을지라도 꾸짖지 아니하셨고, “다윗의 시대에 해를 거듭하여 삼 년 기근이 있으므로 다윗이 여호와 앞에 간구하매 여호와께서 이르시되 이는 사울과 피를 흘린 그의 집으로 말미암음이니 그가 기브온 사람을 죽였음이니라. 기브온 사람은 이스라엘 족속이 아니요 그들은 아모리 사람 중에서 남은 자라 이스라엘 족속들이 전에 그들에게 맹세하였거늘 사울이 이스라엘과 유다 족속을 위하여 열심이 있으므로 그들을 죽이고자 하였더라(21:1-2)” 하였듯, 화친의 약속을 어기고 기브온 사람들을 죽이려 한 사울의 죄로 이스라엘이 벌을 받게 되었다 하셨습니다.

So, Joshua and the elders, deceived by the lies of the Gibeonites, as “Your servants have come from a very distant country because of the fame of the Lord your God. For we have heard reports of him: all that he did in Egypt, and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan-Shihon king of Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth (Joshua9:9-10)” And they peaceful treaty with them without inquires of God and swore an oath in God’s name, but God did not rebuke or punish them, as “The men of Israel did not inquire of the Lord. Then Joshua made a treaty of peace with them to let them live, and the leaders of the assembly ratified it by oath (Joshua9:14-15)” However, Saul was broke the covenant of peace that Joshua had made with the Gibeonites, and he killed the Gibeonites and tried to drive them out, which was a sin of Israel, as “During the reign of David, there was a famine for three successive years; so, David sought the face of the Lord. The Lord said, ‘It is on account of Saul and his blood-stained house; it is because he put the Gibeonites to death. Now the Gibeonites were not a part of Israel but were survivors of the Amorites; the Israelites had sworn to spare them, but Saul in his zeal for Israel and Judah had tried to annihilate them (21:1-2)”

그래서 “다윗이 그들에게 묻되 내가 너희를 위하여 어떻게 하랴 내가 어떻게 속죄하여야 너희가 여호와의 기업을 위하여 복을 빌겠느냐 하니, 기브온 사람이 그에게 대답하되 사울과 그의 집과 우리 사이의 문제는 은금에 있지 아니하오며 이스라엘 가운데에서 사람을 죽이는 문제도 우리에게 있지 아니하니이다 하니라 왕이 이르되 너희가 말하는 대로 시행하리라. 그들이 왕께 아뢰되 우리를 학살하였고 우리를 멸하여 이스라엘 영토 내에 머물지 못하게 하려고 모해한 사람의, 자손 일곱 사람을 우리에게 내주소서 여호와께서 택하신 사울의 고을 기브아에서 우리가 그들을 여호와 앞에서 목매어 달겠나이다 하니 왕이 이르되 내가 내주리라(21:3-5)” 하였듯, 기드온 사람들의 요구대로 시행할 약속을 하게 하셨습니다.

So, God told King David to call the Gibeonites and ask them what they wanted and promise to do whatever they wanted, as “David asked the Gibeonites, ‘What shall I do for you? How shall I make amends so that you will bless the Lord’s inheritance? The Gibeonites answered him, ‘We have no right to demand silver or gold from Saul or his family, nor do we have the right to put anyone in Israel to death. What do you want me to do for you? David asked (21:3-4)” “They answered the king, ‘As for the man who destroyed us and plotted against us so that we have been decimated and have no place anywhere in Israel (21:5)”

그래서 “다윗과 사울의 아들 요나단 사이에 서로 여호와를 두고 맹세한 것이 있으므로 왕이 사울의 손자 요나단의 아들 므비보셋은 아끼고, 왕이 이에 아야의 딸 리스바에게서 난 자 사울의 두 아들 알모니와 므비보셋과 사울의 딸 메랍에게서 난 자 므홀랏 사람 바르실래의 아들 아드리엘의 다섯 아들을 붙잡아, 그들을 기브온 사람의 손에 넘기니 기브온 사람이 그들을 산 위에서 여호와 앞에 목 매어 달매 그들 일곱 사람이 동시에 죽으니 죽은 때는 곡식 베는 첫날 곧 보리를 베기 시작하는 때더라(21:7-9)” 하였듯, 요나단과 맺은 언약을 다윗이 철저하게 지키게 하셨습니다.

So, God provided that David thoroughly kept the covenant he made with Jonathan, as “The king spared Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the oath before the Lord between David and Jonathan son of Saul. But the king took Armoni and Mephiboshath, the two sons of Aiah’s daughter Rizpah, whom she had borne to Saul, together with the five sons of Saul’s daughter Merab, whom she had borne to Adriel son of Barzillai the Meholathite. He handed them over to the Gibeonites, who killed and exposed them on a hill before the Lord. All seven of them fell together; they were put to death during the first days of the harvest, just as the barley harvest was beginning (21:7-9)”

그리고, 오랫동안 자식들의 시체를 지킨 아야의 딸 리스바의 이야기를 들은 “다윗이 가서 사울의 뼈와 그의 아들 요나단의 뼈를 길르앗 야베스 사람에게서 가져가니 이는 전에 블레셋 사람들이 사울을 길보아에서 죽여 블레셋 사람들이 벧산 거리에 매단 것을 그들이 가만히 가져온 것이라. 다윗이 그 곳에서 사울의 뼈와 그의 아들 요나단의 뼈를 가지고 올라오매 사람들이 그 달려 죽은 자들의 뼈를 거두어다가, 사울과 그의 아들 요나단의 뼈와 함께 베냐민 땅 셀라에서 그의 아버지 기스의 묘에 장사하되 모두 왕의 명령을 따라 행하니라 그 후에야 하나님이 그 땅을 위한 기도를 들으시니라(21:12-14)” 하였듯, 정성스럽게 장례를 마치게 하신 후에 기도에 응답하셨습니다.

When David heard the Saul’s concubine Rizpah who was been guarding the bodies of her children for long time, David was moved and had the bones of Saul and his children brought to him and given a proper burial, after that, God answered his prayer, as “He went and took the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan from the citizens of Jabesh Gilead. They had taken them secretly from the public square at Beth Shan, where the Philistines had hung them after they struck Saul down on Gilboa. David brought the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan in the tomb of Saul’s father Kish, at Zela in Benjamin, and did everything the king commanded. After that, God answered prayer in behalf of the land (21:12-14)”

그러므로 “내 생각이 너희의 생각과 다르며 내 길은 너희의 길과 다름이니라 여호와의 말씀이니라. 하늘이 땅보다 높음 같이 내 길은 너희의 길보다 높으며 내 생각은 너희의 생각보다 높음이니라(사55:8-9) - 예수께서 이 모든 것을 무리에게 비유로 말씀하시고 비유가 아니면 아무 것도 말씀하지 아니하셨던(마13:34)” 하나님의 섭리, 즉 성경 말씀에 숨겨진 하나님의 진실한 뜻을 올바로 찾아 알고 믿어야만 그리스도의 대속과 구원을 얻게 됩니다. 여러분 모두 말씀에 숨겨진 복음의 진리를 올바로 찾아 믿고 순종하여, 동행하며 보호하고 인도하며 사용하고 이루시는 임마누엘 하나님의 형통한 은혜와 선물, 그리스도의 대속과 구원을 얻어 부활하고 천국에 들어가 영생하는 하나님의 자녀들이 되시기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

Therefore, the Words of the Bible are parables that deeply hide the truth, so we must correctly find, know, and believe in the providence of God and the truth of the gospel of Christ hidden within the order to obtain redemption and salvation, as “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord (Isaiah55:8-9) – Jesus spoke all these things to the crowned in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable (Matthew13:34)” Brothers and sisters, I pray and earnestly bless you all in the name of Jesus Christ so that you may correctly find the truth of the gospel hidden in the Bible, believe in it, and receive the abundant grace and love of God of Immanuel, who accompanies, protects, guides, uses, and accomplishes it, and receive the redemption and salvation of Christ, and become children of God who are resurrected, enter heaven, and live forever.
