143. 일의 뜻을 분명히 알고, 적정[고요한] 경지에 도달한 사람은, 마땅히 능력이 있어야 하고, 성실하고 정직하며, 상냥한 말씨를 쓰며, 태도를 부드럽게 하며, 오만하지 말아야 하네.	143.深明事義、達到寂靜境界的人，應該有能力，誠懇，正直，說話和氣，態度和藹，不傲慢。	1. Whatever is to be done by one who is skilful in seeking (what is) good, having attained that tranquil state (of Nibbana):-Let him be able and upright and conscientious and of soft speech, gentle, not proud, (142)
144. 족함을 알고, 공양을 쉽게 할 수 있게하고, 일의 관여를 적게하고, 검소하고, 감각기관을 평정(平靜)하게 하며, 총명하고 겸허하며, (박발 중에 어느) 가정에 집착하지 말아야 하네.	144.知足，容易供養，少管事，儉樸，感官平靜，聰明，謙虛，不執著家庭。	2. And contented and easily supported and having few cares, unburdened and with his senses calmed and wise, not arrogant, without (showing) greediness (when going his round) in families. (143)
145. 마땅히 다른 지혜로은 자의 견책을 피하기 어려운, 어떠한 비천한 일도 하지 말아야 하네. 일체 중생을 행복하고 안전하게 하시오! 다른 사람들을 즐겁게 하시오!	145.不應該做任何卑賤的事，免遭其他智者譴責。讓一切眾生幸福安全！讓他們快樂！	3. And let him not do anything mean for which others who are wise might reprove (him); may all beings be happy and secure, may they be happy-minded. (144)
146. 생명이 있는 존재라면 무엇이든지, 약하든 강하든, 길던 짧던, 크던 작던, 거칠던 세세하던,	146.凡有生命者，或強或弱，或長或短，或大或小，或粗或細，	4. Whatever living beings there are, either feeble or strong, all either long or great, middle-sized, short, small or large, (145)
147. 보이던 보이지 않던, 가깝던 멀던, 태어난 것이든 태어나려고 하는 것이든, 일체 중생 모두 즐겁게 하시오!	147.或可見或不可見，或近或遠，或生下或有待生下，讓一切眾生都快樂！	5. Either seen or which are not seen, and which live far (or) near, either born or seeking birth, may all creatures be happy-minded. (146)
148. 다른 사람을 속이지 않아야 하고, 어떠한 지방의 어떠한 사람도 멸시하지 않아야 하며, 분노와 원한으로 서로 괴로움을 주지 않아야 하네.	148.不要欺騙他人，不要蔑視任何地方的任何人，不要出於忿怒和仇恨而互相製造痛苦。	6. Let no one deceive another, let him not despise (another) in any place, let him not out of anger or resentment wish harm to another. (147)
149. 마치 어머니가 자기의 유일한 자식의 생명을 보호하려고 하듯, 일체 중생에 대하여 무한한 자비심을 베풀어야 하네.	149.猶如母親用生命保護自己的唯一兒子，對一切眾生施以無限的仁慈心。	7. As a mother at the risk of her life watches over her own child, her only child, so also let every one cultivate a boundless (friendly) mind towards all beings. (148)
150. 온 세계에 대해서, 높은 곳이든, 낮은 곳이든 또는 평지이든 막론하고, 무한한 자비심을 베풀고, 방해 받지 않게 하고, 원한을 품지 않게 하고, 적의를 갖지 않게 하여야 하네.	150.對整個世界施以無限的仁慈心，無論在高處，低處或地平處，不受阻撓，不懷仇恨，不抱敵意。	8. And let him cultivate goodwill towards all the world, a boundless (friendly) mind, above and below and across, unobstructed, without hatred, without enmity. (149)
151. 일어서 있거나, 가고 있거나, 앉아 있거나, 누워 있거나를 막론하고, 조금도 어리벙벙하지 않고, 삼가 이 한 마음을 지키는 것, 사람들은 이것을 인간 세상의 범계생활이라고 하네.	151.無論站著、走著、坐著、躺著，毫不糊塗，恪守這一思想，人們說這是人世的梵界生活。	9. Standing, walking or sitting or lying, as long as he be awake, let him devote himself to this mind; this (way of) living they say is the best in this world. (150)
152. 그릇된 주장을 받아 들이지 않고, 덕이 있고 견식이 있으며, 애욕에 연연해 하지 않으면, 확실히 모태에 다시 들어 가는 일은 없을 것이지요.	152.不接受謬論，有德，有見識，不貪戀愛慾，那就肯定不會再投胎。	10. He who, not having embraced (philosophical) views, is virtuous, endowed with (perfect) vision, after subduing greediness for sensual pleasures, will never again go to a mother's womb. (151)
