	1 (1)	Suns	17-6	Just a hunch, but I'm guessing no one will protest too loudly about Suns retaining the No. 1 spot for a second successive week. Not even from Salt Lake City.
	2 (2)	Spurs	19-6	Spurs aren't just rolling. They're cruising, with Duncan having topped 20 points just three times in December while averaging a mere 12.6 FGA per game this month.
	3 (4)	Jazz	18-6	It so easily could (and should) have been a 4-0 week, but it's tough to quibble after a home rout of Dallas, two road wins and with AK-47 still not averaging 10 ppg.
	4 (3)	Mavericks	17-7	The good news: Howard has averaged 19.6 ppg over the last 10 games. The bad news: Mavs' offense still isn't running smoothly, so Nowitzki needs more help.
	5 (6)	Pistons	15-8	Maybe Pistons should be thankful for their league-high 22 back-to-backs. They're 15-1 in eight back-to-backs so far and -- huh? -- 0-7 in every other game.
	6 (10)	Bulls	14-10	Knicks, Nuggets and the league office are praying their scandal fades as fast as Headbandgate. Amid much chaos elsewhere, Big Ben snares 62 boards in three wins.
	7 (5)	Lakers	16-8	Lakers can only hope folks are right when they say this team can handle an Odom injury better than ever. Since Odom arrived, L.A. is 92-76 with him, 4-19 without him.
	8 (7)	Rockets	15-9	T-Mac's back isn't Rockets' only sore spot. It's safe to say they're in no rush to see Lakers again after L.A. teased them twice and won both times in a four-day span.
	9 (8)	Magic	16-10	Warned you about too much praise, Orlando. Since rising to No. 3, Magic are 3-5 and got punked in a rare TNT date by the draftee (May) passed in favor of Vazquez.
	10 (17)	Wizards	12-11	Butler has been playing All-Star ball from the jump. The real change in this 8-2 rebound is obviously the production/steadiness coming from Captain Quirk.
	11 (9)	Timberwolves	10-11	Interesting little factoid: Wolves losing their only two games all week, both on the road, leaves the mighty West with only seven teams above .500. We're just saying.
	12 (12)	Cavaliers	14-9	It's the so-so effort in this 7-7 stretch that stands out more than the record. Latest example: Cavs fall to slumping Magic on a night Orlando starts Ariza, Battie and Arroyo.
	13 (14)	Warriors	12-13	Warriors have yearned to see some East teams after facing only four in their first 24 games. But Sunday's loss at Toronto (sans Bosh) wasn't the most convincing start.
	14 (15)	Pacers	13-13	If Pacers, in their ongoing quest to play a little faster, can generate 95 points or more, they're 10-2. Problem is, Indy is 3-11 when it falls short of that cutoff.
	15 (11)	Clippers	10-13	The argument against Iverson: Clips have played only three games vs. East teams. The argument for A.I.: Mired in a 4-11 funk, do Clips have much chemistry to lose?
	16 (16)	Heat	10-13	Since we know Shaq's out for Christmas, here's a more pertinent question: How long before Miami beats someone with a winning record? None of its 10 victims has one.
	17 (22)	Trail Blazers	11-14	The most optimistic Blazermaniacs didn't predict this: Portland has already matched last season's six road Ws and (gasp) sports a higher winning pct. than Clips do.
	18 (28)	Celtics	10-13	AI trade rumors might be messing with some teams, but they've reincarnated Jefferson and a Celts team that isn't exactly used to winning streaks.
	19 (19)	Kings	10-12	A 2-7 record this month isn't a shocker given their December sked so far. The surprise is that Muss and Kings seem to be dealing with so much in-house tension already.
	20 (13)	Nuggets	13-9	Nuggets have enough to fret about, obviously, but we regret to remind them that the sked only gets tougher. Denver has played a West-low eight games in its conference.
	21 (21)	Bucks	10-14	Charlie V.'s still not right, but at least Bucks have won four straight at home, with the self-proclaimed Kobe Stopper (Patterson) averaging 16.7 ppg and 6.9 rpg in Dec.
	22 (26)	Raptors	10-14	Raps are this week's Seattle, winning three in a row after bad news on Bosh. Not only that, Raps are the only Titanic team with a winning record (7-3) at home.
	23 (18)	SuperSonics	10-15	Caution to Raps: There's a limit to winning without your star, especially with a road trip looming. After a 3-0 start sans Ray Allen, Sonics are 0-4 on a five-game excursion.
	24 (20)	Hornets	10-12	You knew going in that injuries would probably settle the last few playoff spots in a brutal West. With Peja and D-West needing surgery, Hornets are living it.
	25 (25)	Nets	9-14	Couldn't beat Bosh-less Raps. Sub-.500 even at home. With 10 of 15 January games on the road, Nets overcoming their annual slow start might be tougher than ever.
	26 (23)	Hawks	9-14	A 1-3 mark minus Joe Johnson isn't bad given how much JJ does. But Hawks' OT home loss to Bulls was their sixth in eight games decided by five points or less.
	27 (24)	Grizzlies	5-19	Can you be happy and troubled by Pau's early return? In other words: If the June draft is as good as scouts say, would it be so bad to hold him out two more weeks?
	28 (29)	Bobcats	6-17	Of Bobcats' six wins, make that four (somehow) against division leaders: Celtics, Spurs, Pistons and now Magic. Next up: Utah on Friday. You've been warned, Jazz.
	29 (27)	Knicks	9-17	Is this typical Knicks or what? Marbury finally goes for 31 points and eight dimes -- at MSG, no less -- but it happens at the most meaningless time: In the brawl game.
	30 (30)	76ers	5-18	Iverson might be fuming in exile, but I'm guessing he's happier than his ex-mates, who'd look like '72-73's Sixers (1-19 after 20 games) if not for that 3-0 start.
