성경말씀: 예레미야 21~24

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 21~24

“시드기야 왕이 말기야의 아들 바스훌과 제사장 마아세야의 아들 스바냐를 예레미야에게 보내어, 우리를 위하여 여호와께 물어보라 혹 옛날처럼 놀라운 이적을 행하셔서 우리를 치는 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 우리를 떠나게 하시리라(21:1-2)” 하였듯, 사람들은 세상과 육신을 따라 제멋대로 살다가 멸망과 죽음의 두려움이 닥쳐와야 비로소 창조주 하나님 여호와를 찾고 도움을 간구합니다.

Almost of people think and decide as they please, and only when they are in fear of destruction and death do they seek God and ask help, as “When King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur son of Malkijah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah. They said: Inquire now of the Lord for us because attacking us. Perhaps the Lord will perform wonders for us as in times past so that he will withdraw from us (21:1-2)”

그렇지만, “성 밖에서 너희를 에워싼 바벨론의 왕과 갈대아인과 싸우려는 너희들과 무기를 내가 뒤로 돌리고 그들을 성안으로 불러오리라. 나의 분노와 진노와 격노와 강한 능력으로 너희와 싸우리라. 내가 성안에 사는 사람들과 짐승들을 끔찍한 전염병으로 죽이리라. 여호와가 말하노라 그 후에 내가 유다의 왕 시드기야와 신하들과 백성들과 전염병과 칼과 기근에서 살아남은 자들을 그들의 생명을 노리는 원수 바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕에게 넘겨 불쌍히 여기거나 긍휼이나 자비를 베풀지 않고 칼날로 죽이게 하리라(21:4-7)” 하셨듯, 그런 사람의 기도는 듣지 않고 경고하신 말씀대로 심판하십니다.

But, God, does not listen to the prayer of such people and judges them according to the words He warned, as “I am about to turn against you the weapons of war that are in your hands, which you are using to fight the king of Babylon and the Babylonians who are outside the wall besieging you. And I will gather them inside this city. I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a mighty arm in anger and fury and great wrath. I will strike down those who live in this city, both men and animals-and they will die of a terrible plague. After that, declares the Lord, I will hand over Zedekiah king of Judah, his officials and the people in this city who survive the plague, sword and famine, to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and to their enemies who seek their lives. He will put them to the sword; he will show them no mercy or pity or compassion (21:4-7)”

그래서 “여호와가 말하노라 백성들에게 전하라 내가 너희 앞에 생명과 사망의 길을 두었느니라. 이 성안에 머무는 자들은 칼과 기근과 전염병에 죽고 너희를 에워싼 갈대아인에게 나가서 항복하는 자는 살리라. 여호와가 말하노라 내가 이 성에 복 대신에 화를 내리고 성읍을 바벨론 왕에게 넘겨 불사르게 하리라(21:8-10)” 선포하시면서도, “다윗의 후손들아 아침마다 공정하게 판결하여 탈취당한 자들을 약탈자에게서 건져라 그러지 아니하면 너희의 악행으로 일어나는 나의 분노의 불길로 사르리니 꺼지지 아니하리라(21:12)” 하셨듯, 심판이 진행되는 가운데에서도 회개하고 돌아서면 용서하고 고쳐주며 다시 살 기회를 주십니다.

So, God declared, as “Furthermore, tell the people, ‘This is what the Lord says: See, I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death. Whoever stays in this city will die by the sword, famine or plague. But whoever goes out and surrenders to not good, declares the Lord. It will be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will destroy it with fire (21:8-10)” However, even in the midst of judgement, If anyone who repent and turn back to God, He forgives, heals, and gives a chance to live again, as “O house of David, this is what the Lord says: Administer justice every morning; rescue from the hand of his oppressor the one who has been robbed, or my wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done-burn with no one to quench it (21:12)”

그래서 “너희가 정의롭고 공평하게 압제자에게 약탈당한 자들을 건져내고 이방인과 고아와 과부를 학대하지 말고 포악하거나 무죄한 피를 흘리지 말라. 너희가 이 명령을 실행하면 다윗의 보좌에 앉을 왕들이 병거와 말을 타고 신하들과 백성들과 함께 이 문으로 드나들리라. 만일 너희가 이 말을 듣지 아니하면 내가 맹세하나니 왕궁이 황폐되리라. 여호와가 유다 왕궁에 말하노라 네가 내게 길르앗이나 레바논의 산꼭대기 같을지라도 내가 반드시 너를 주민이 없는 광야와 버림받은 성읍이 되게 하리라(22:3-6)” 가르치며 경고하십니다.

So, God taught and warned it, as “This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of his oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the alien, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place. For if you are careful to carry out these commands, then kings who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this palace, riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by their officials and their people. But if you do not obey these commands, declares the Lord, I swear by myself that this palace will become a ruin. For this is what the Lord says about the palace of the king of Judah: Though you are like Gilead to me, like the summit of Lebanon, I will surely make you like a desert, like towns not inhabited (22:3-6)”

그러므로 “일꾼들에게 품삯을 주지 않고 부당하고 불의하게 왕궁을 짓고 윗층을 올리는 자에게 화가 있으리라. 그가 윗층에 넓은 방들이 있는 큰 궁궐을 지으리라 하며 백향목으로 넓은 창문을 만들고 붉게 칠하였으나, 백향목을 많이 사용한다고 왕이 되느냐 네 아버지가 음식이 없었더냐 그가 정의롭고 공정하여 형통하였느니라. 그가 가난하고 궁핍한 자들을 옹호하고 형통하였으니 그것이 나를 아는 것이 아니냐(22:13-16)” 하셨듯, 욕심의 노예가 되지 말고 역사에서 교훈을 받아 선하고 의롭게 살아라 가르칩니다.

Therefore, no one be a slave to greed, but learn from history and live a good and righteous life, as “Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his countrymen work for nothing, not paying them for their labor. He says, ‘I will build myself a great palace with spacious upper rooms, ‘So he makes large windows in it, panels it with cedar and decorates it in red. Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him. He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me? (22:13-16)”

왜냐하면 “여호와가 말하노라 내 땅에서 양떼를 쫓아내고 멸망시키는 목자들에게 화가 있으리라. 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와가 내 백성을 돌보는 목자들에게 말하노라 너희가 내 백성을 돌보지 않고 흩으며 쫓아낸 악행대로 내가 너희를 벌하리라(23:1-2)” 하셨듯, 자신의 사명에 올바로 충성하지 못하면 맡겨진 사람들을 멸망으로 몰아넣는 죄인이 되기 때문입니다.

Because, if you are not faithful to your mission, you will be judged as a sinner who leads those entrusted to you to destruction, as “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture. Declares the Lord. Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: ‘Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done (23:1-2)”

그러나 “내가 쫓아냈던 모든 땅에서 살아남은 백성들을 다시 모아 돌아오게 하여 그들의 땅에서 생육하고 번성하게 하리라. 그들을 보살필 목자들을 세워 그들이 다시는 두려워하거나 놀라거나 잃어버리지 않게 하리라(23:3-4)” 하였듯, 하나님께서 인도하시는 고난과 연단에 순종하며 이겨내면 성령을 진실한 목자로 주시지만, “때가 되면 내가 다윗에게 의로운 가지 하나를 일으키고 왕으로 세워 세상을 정의와 공평과 지혜로 다스리게 하리라. 그날에 유다는 구원을 얻고 이스라엘은 평안을 얻으며 그는 여호와 우리의 공의라 일컬음을 받으리라(23:5-6)” 하였듯, 다윗의 후손으로 오신 예수께서 임마누엘 하나님이 돼야만 비로소 올바른 믿음이 됩니다.

However, if we obey the trials and disciplines that God leads us to, the Holy Spirit will become our true shepherd, as “I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number. I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing (23:3-4)” And, the Holy Spirit leads him to the right faith, who came as a descendant of David, the Jesus becoming his Emmanuel God, as “When I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord our Righteousness (23:5-6)”

왜냐하면, “꿈을 꾸는 선지자는 자신의 꿈을 말하지만, 내 말을 가진 선지자는 성실하게 전하느니라 볏집과 알곡이 어찌 같겠느냐, 여호와가 말하노라 다른 선지자에게 준 나의 말을 훔치는 선지자들을 내가 치리라. 여호와께서 말씀하셨다 하며 자신의 마음대로 말하는 선지자들도 내가 치리라. 여호와가 말하노라 내가 임명하지 않고 보내지 않았어도 거짓된 꿈을 예언하며 백성들에게 아무 유익이 없는 무모한 거짓말로 내 백성을 미혹하는 자들을 내가 치리라(23:28-32)” 하셨듯, 사람들은 하나님 말씀을 올바로 전하지 못하고, 자신의 꿈이나 생각으로 오염시키거나 남의 말씀을 훔치고 베껴 전하는 죄에 쉽게 빠지기 때문입니다.

Because, people fail to convey the Word of God correctly but easily fall into the sin of contaminating it with their own dreams or thoughts, or stealing and plagiarizing the Word of others, as “Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain? Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? Therefore, declares the Lord, ‘I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. Yes, declares the Lord, ‘I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, The Lord declares. Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, declares the Lord. They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least (23:28-32)”

왜냐하면, “여호와께서 여호와의 성전 앞에 놓인 무화과 두 광주리를 내게 보이시더라. 한 광주리에는 일찍 익은 아주 좋은 무화과가 있고 한 광주리에는 먹을 수 없게 극히 나쁜 무화과가 있더라(24:1-2)” 하였듯, 우리의 선택에 따라 좋은 열매를 맺거나 악한 열매를 맺게 하시려고 자유의지를 주셨고, “각 사람이 행한 대로 갚으시는(마16:27)” 심판의 법칙을 정하셨으며, “내가 이 곳에서 갈대아인의 땅으로 옮겨가게 한 유다 포로들은 좋은 무화과 같이 좋게 보리라. 내가 그들을 좋게 보고 돌보며 이 땅으로 다시 인도하여 세우고 심으며 헐거나 뽑지 아니하고, 그들에게 내가 여호와인 줄 아는 마음을 주어 전심으로 내게 돌아오게 하여 그들은 내 백성이 되고 나는 그들의 하나님이 되리라(24:5-7)” 하였듯, 올바른 믿음의 열매를 맺어야만 임마누엘 하나님의 은혜로 구원을 얻기 때문입니다.

Because God gave us free will to bear good or bad fruit according to our choice, as “The Lord showed me two baskets of figs placed in front of the temple of the Lord. One basket had very good figs, like those that ripen early; the other casket had very poor figs, so bad they could not be eaten (24:1-2)” And God established the laws for judging accordingly, as “Will reward each person according to what he has done (Matthew16:27)” Therefore, we must bear the fruit of the right faith in the grace and love of Emmanuel God in order to be saved, as “Like these good figs, I regard as good the exiles from Judah, whom I sent away from this place to the land of the Babylonians. My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them. I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart (24:5-7)”

그러므로 “내가 유다의 왕 시드기야와 관리들과 예루살렘과 이 땅에 살아남은 자들과 애굽에 사는 자들은 먹을 수 없이 나쁜 무화과처럼 버리리라. 세상 모든 나라로 흩어서 내가 쫓아 보낼 모든 곳에서 환난을 당하며 부끄러운 웃음거리와 조롱거리가 되어 저주를 받게 하며, 내가 그들과 조상들에게 준 땅에서 멸절할 때까지 내가 칼과 기근과 전염병을 보내리라(24:8-10)” 하셨듯, 그릇된 믿음에 빠지면 하나님께 버림을 받고 멸망의 심판을 받습니다. 그러므로 인간은 전적으로 타락하여 아무것도 스스로 할 수 없고 하나님의 은혜로만 구원을 얻는다 하는 신학자들의 감언이설에 속아 자신의 책임과 의무를 지키지 않고 그리스도의 은혜만 바라는 실체가 없고 허무한 믿음에 빠지지 말고 모든 일을 하나님의 편에서 생각하며 신중하게 하나님의 뜻에 합당하게 선택하며 순종하는 올바른 믿음으로 구원을 얻어야 합니다. 여러분 모두모두 그처럼 올바른 믿음으로 구원과 영생 얻기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

Therefore, anyone who falls into false belief will be abandoned by God and will be judged to destruction, as “Like the poor figs, which are so bad they cannot be eaten, says the Lord, ‘so will I deal with Zedekiah king of Judah, his officials and the survivors from Jerusalem, whether they remain in this land or live in Egypt. I will make them abhorrent and an offense to all the kingdoms of the earth, a ridicule and cursing, wherever I banish them. I will send the sword, famine and plague against them until they are destroyed from the land I gave to them and their fathers (24:8-10)” Therefore, do not be deceived by the sweet talk of theologians who say that humans are completely depraved and cannot do anything on their own and saved only by the grace of God, and do not keep your own responsibilities and duties, and do not fall into a false and insubstantial faith that only hopes for the grace of Christ, Instead, you must think of all things from God’s perspective, make careful judgements, do your best in the tasks entrusted to you, and obtain salvation through the right faith that obeys. Brothers and sisters, therefore, you shall be as good and right faith and be atoned, saved, resurrected and given eternal life in the heaven, I pray and bless you all in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
