4. 믿음 및 평화와 통일의 본향지는 고향과 조국
신사 숙녀 여러분! 선한 사람은 어떤 사람이겠습니까? 여러 가지로 정의할 수 있겠지만 한 가지는 받은 것을 잘라먹는 사람은 악한 사람이고, 받은 것에 대해 플러스시켜 베푸는 사람은 선한 사람이라는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 자식이 자신보다도 낮아지기를 바라는 부모는 없습니다. 높아지기를 바랍니다. 또 남편은 아내, 아내는 남편이 자신보다도 훌륭하기를 바랍니다. 또한 형은 동생, 동생은 형이 더 훌륭하기를 바라는 것입니다. 따라서 받은 것보다도 더 큰 것을 돌리려는 것이 부모의 소원이며, 남편의 소원이며, 자녀의 소원이며, 만물의 소원이요, 결국 우주의 소원인 것입니다.

더 나아가 큰마음으로 ‘천주가 나의 고향이요, 나의 조국’이라는 생각을 가진 사람만이 자유와 해방을 받아 천주적으로 환영받습니다. 개인적으로 환영받고, 가정·국가·세계·천주적으로 환영받고서야 결국 하나님의 아들딸이 될 수 있다는 결론이 나오는 것입니다.

그렇다면 여러분은 어디에서 살고 싶습니까? 자신이 태어난 본연의 고향에서 살고 싶을 것입니다. 그런데 본연의 고향은 넓은 의미에서 볼 때 천주 가운데서도 지구성이고, 조국은 조상들 대신 우리의 하나님이 계시는 곳입니다. 이 지구성에서 타락하지 않은 본연의 부모형제 아들딸이 함께 산다면, 그곳이 곧 우리의 본향입니다. 그곳에는 흑인과 황인 그리고 백인이 함께 어우러져 살고 있습니다. 이 모든 인종의 부모는 한 분입니다. 그러므로 우주에서 동서남북 어디를 가더라도 함께하시는 하나님이 인류의 아버지가 아닐 수 없습니다.

그래서 미국의 주인은 백인이라거나 황인이라거나 흑인이라고 하는 생각은 잘못입니다. 미국의 주인은 하나님이십니다. 다만, 피부의 색깔이 다른 것은 사는 지역에 따라 기후와 환경이 다르기 때문에 보호색깔을 맞추기 위한 것입니다. 그래서 눈이 많은 지역에는 백인이 많습니다. 반대로 태양 빛이 강한 아프리카 같은 데는 흑인이 많은 것입니다. 그러나 사람은 다 근본적으로 같습니다. 예를 들면, 피의 색깔이나 살과 뼈의 모양이 모두 같습니다. 그리고 서로 사랑하는 것이 같습니다. 그러므로 인종차별이 있을 수 없습니다.

그래서 통일교회는 국제합동결혼식을 통해 인류를 평등화하여 왔습니다. 자연히 순리와 원칙을 존중하다 보니 오색인종이 서로 결혼하게 된 것입니다. 흑인하고 백인이 결혼하는 것은 북극과 남극이 하나되는 것과 같습니다. 또 황인과 흑인이 결혼하면 서로의 강점을 전수받아 보다 나은 후손을 낳는다고 보는 것입니다. 사랑이 있는 곳에는 갈등이 없습니다. 비록 여러분이 태어난 고향과 조국은 다르지만 한 가지 틀림없는 것은 믿음의 본향지요, 평화와 통일의 본향지는 참사랑을 중심삼은 조국과 고향이라는 것입니다.

平和経 - (020) - 天宙は私の故郷と祖国

4. 信仰および平和と統一の本郷の地は故郷と祖国
紳士淑女の皆様。善なる人とは、どのような人ですか。様々に定義することができるかもしれませんが、一つは、受けたものを踏み倒す人は悪なる人であり、受けたものに対して、プラスして恩返しする人は善なる人であるというのです。ですから、子女が自分よりも劣ることを望む父母はいません。立派になることを望みます。また、夫は妻を、そして、妻は夫が自分よりも素晴らしくなることを願います。また、兄は弟を、弟は兄がもっと立派になることを願うのです。したがって、受けたものよりも、もっと大きなものを返そうとするのが父母の願いであり、夫の願いであり、子女の願いであり、万物の願いであり、結局、宇宙の願いなのです。さらには、大きな心で「天宙が私の故郷であり、私の祖国である」という考えをもった人こそが、自由と解放を受け、天宙的な歓迎を受けます。個人的に歓迎され、家庭、国家、世界、天宙的に歓迎されてこそ、結局、神様の真の息子、娘になることができるという結論が出てくるのです。
 
それでは、皆様はどこで暮らしたいですか。自分が生まれた本然の故郷で暮らしたいはずです。本然の故郷は、広い意味で考えるとき、天宙の中でも地球星であり、祖国は先祖の代わりに私たちの神様がいらっしゃる所です。この地球星で堕落していない本然の父母、兄弟、息子、娘が共に暮らすならば、そこがすなわち、私の本郷です。そこには、黒人、黄色人種、そして白人が共に調和して暮らしています。このすべての人種は誰の息子、娘ですか。父母は一人の方であられます。したがって、宇宙で、東西南北のどこに行こうと共にいらっしゃる神様が人類の父であることは間違いないのです。
 
ですから、アメリカの主人が白人である、黒人である、黄色人種であるという考えは誤りです。アメリカの主人は神様であられます。皮膚の色が違うのは、住んでいる地域によって気候と環境が異なるので、それに合わせるためなのです。それで、雪の多い地域には白人が多いのです。反対に太陽の光が強いアフリカのような所には、黒人がたくさんいるのです。しかし、人は根本的に同じです。例えば、血の色や、筋肉や骨の形はすべて同じです。そして、互いに愛し合うことも同じです。したがって、人種の差別はあり得ません。
 
それで、統一教会では国際合同結婚式を通して、人類平等を実現してきました。自然の道理と原則を尊重してみると五色人種（すべての人種）が互いに結婚するようになったのです。黒人と白人が結婚することは、極と極が一つになることと同じです。あるいは、黄色人種と黒人が結婚すれば、お互いの長所を受け継ぐようになり、より優れた子孫を生むと考えるのです。
 
愛があるところには、葛藤がありません。たとえ、皆様の生まれた故郷と祖国は異なるとしても、一つ間違いないことは、信仰の本郷地であり、平和と統一の本郷地は、真の愛を中心とした祖国と故郷であるということです。

Pyeong Hwa Gyeong (020) - The Cosmos Is Our Hometown and Our Homeland

4. The homeland of faith, peace and unity is the hometown and homeland
Ladies and gentlemen: What makes someone a good person? We can answer this in many ways. We could say that a bad person is someone who takes whatever he is given and keeps it for him or herself. A good person is someone who adds to whatever he or she is given and passes it on to others.

No parent wants his or her child to grow up to be something less than that parent. We all want our children to be better than ourselves. Also, a husband would like his wife to be better than himself, and a wife wants her husband to be better than herself. Further, an elder brother and younger brother would each want the other to become better than himself.

We all want to give back something more than what we receive. This is our fervent wish as parents, as husbands and wives, and as children. It is also the fervent wish of all things in nature. Ultimately, it is the fervent wish of the entire universe.

Moreover, those whose hearts are so wide that they can say, “the cosmos is my hometown and my homeland,” will be welcomed by the cosmos. We can conclude, then, that in order to become God’s true sons and daughters we have to be welcomed by individuals, by families, by nations, by the world, and finally by the cosmos.

That being the case, where would you most like to go and live? I think you would like to live in the original homeland where you were born. Broadly speaking, our original homeland refers to the planet Earth within the cosmos, and wherever God can be found.

God is the founding Parent of our homeland. Our homeland is the earth as God originally intended it to be — a place where parents, siblings, and children who did not commit the Fall would live together. This was to be a place where black people, yellow people, and white people would live together in harmony.

Who is the parent of all these different races? There is only one parent. The God who is with us wherever we go in the universe is the Father of humankind. Thus, it would be a mistake for anyone to think that white people, black people, or yellow people are the masters of America. God is the master of America.

Differences in skin color are nothing more than the result of our ancestors having had to adapt to different climates and environments in different parts of the globe. In areas with large amounts of snowfall, we find mainly white people living.

In places such as Africa where the rays of the sun are particularly bright, we find mainly black people. Fundamentally, though, people are the same. The color of our blood is the same. Our flesh and bones look the same and we all have the capacity to love. Thus, there must be no discrimination based on race.

This is why the Unification Church has been working through the international holy marriage Blessing ceremonies to create unity and harmony among the races. In accordance with the natural principles of universal love and equality for all people, we have performed many interracial marriages.

When a black person and a white person marry, it is like the North Pole and the South Pole coming together in unity. When a yellow person and a black person marry and have children, both parents contribute their good attributes and their descendants are better as a result.

Where there is love, there can be no strife. We come from many different hometowns and homelands. Yet we can all agree that our homeland of faith, peace, and unity is the world of God’s true love.
