MV AGUSTA AND CAGIVA CONQUER MOTORRAD READERS |
GREAT TRIUMPH OF THE F4 1000 TAMBURINI AND CAGIVA MITO IN THE "BIKE OF THE YEAR" COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY THE FIRTNIGHTLY GERMAN MAGAZINE. ALSO THE MV AGUSTA BRUTALE ON THE PODIUM. The "Bike of the Year" ceremony was held at the Motorrad Magazine, the most authoral German review. MV AGUSTA won, thanks to the F4 1000 Tamburini, the first prize in the most prestigious category reserved to sport bikes. Dedicated to the genius of the Italian designer Massimo Tamburini, the F4 4 cylinders has conquered the 18.3% of the readers" preference, beating the R1 Yamaha (11.3%) and the Suzuki GSXR (8.5%). Glory also for the Cagiva brand. With 14.4% according preference, the MITO has triumphed in the 125 section, reaching the highest step on the podium and damaging the Aprilia 125 Tuono (second) and the Honda Varadero 125 (third). A result, which confirms the value and longevity of a project, considered a referring point of the category. Even in the All-rounder category, in which the section Naked and Street fighter meet, the Italian Industry found satisfaction. With the 7.3% of preferences, in fact, the MV AGUSTA Brutale S was classified third behind the BMW Rockster (8.1%) and the winner Kawasaki Z1000 (13.1%). The awards were collected by Claudio Castiglioni, who underlined that "Not only the motorcycles have been prized, but also the great style and technology tradition of the brands. This is a success that makes us do our best in order to reach more important goals in the future". Goals that, as the Marketing Director Umberto Uccelli declared: "we foresee for the 2004 year the 3% of the German Market conquer". The Motorrad "bike of the Year" saw the collaboration of 47.532 electors. The 80% were males and, between them, the 78% declared to have a motorcycle, which, for the 40%, was bought after the 2002 year.
