Do not Stand at my Grave and Weep

🔰Almost the whole video was shot inside of a moving vehicle, this is a poem presumably by Mary Elizabeth Frye about coping with loss. The thing I like about it is that it uses the natural human reaction of denial in a creative way. One of the early stages of a trauma experience is "denial" and the advice most people give (including professionals) is that you have to accept reality otherwise you will lose your sanity. This approach of trauma doesn't take into account the people that were so reshaped and transformed by the loss that the term sanity has become a wider spectrum. This poem tells me that seeing faces in the rain is ok. Thank you for reading my opinion on the poem you are free to interpret in any way you want and tell me in the comments if you are comfortable. I will read all of them. 🔰Tell me what you think about the channel intro in the comments and follow me on Instagram for some behind the scenes footage
================================================
Do not stand at my grave and weep by Mary Elizabeth Frye Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. |

"Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die." What a brilliant line.

@ksjohnalvin8773 it means that the person who got on the other side is not simply sitting in the grave but his/her soul is living into the nature, small parts of us still living in the stars, rain, snow etc..all immersed and reunited with nature and universe; by this we will not die.

@ksjohnalvin8773 While most people take this in a spiritual way, it's more in the sense that as since they are still being remembered, they have not died yet. Their essence still lingers in the enviroment of their loved ones, alone with all the memories. They're there, just no longer physically.

This poem is from the song 'a thousand winds'

They say you die two times in this world. Once physically, and once again when your name is spoken for the last time. Keep those you love alive by remembering them.

Thanks for saying that. Sometimes I feel awkward bringing up the dead but if I remember something about them I should embrace it.

I heard something similar, that you die three times. First when you physically die. Second when you are buried. Third when the world has forgotten you. Thank you for bringing this up, I remember hearing this in church when I was young.

I miss my mom. It has been five months since that day when my mom said it was time to let her go so she could go see her mom. This video was very moving, but your words struck me. I hurt inside to the core of my being. Sometimes I try not to think of my mom leaving and I wonder when will mom come back? Until then I look forward to the time I can go see my mom. Mom I miss you so much, I would give anything for another hug. I love you.

Thank you. I read your reply last night, but I just could not bring myself to respond. Yesterday, I do not know what brought me to write those words. Maybe it was something I just needed to do. I normally would not share such. Yesterday I felt like such an island, no one before me and no one after. And the way the world is falling into the abyss of evil, what is the point. And it is just a few matter of minutes before they turn this country into a socialist/communist society and burning the Constitution completely. Not only have I lost my mom, but now I realize I’ve lost the country I thought I knew. Be well my friend.

Honestly that is true. But there is a true death that is Hell. There is also true life it’s when sin becomes death to you, and become alive in Christ and live eternal when you die. It’s not just eternity, it’s eternity of what you gave up the World for, it’s God presence and his will. The will of your creator, the revelation of Christ’s death on the Cross for the sake of man, and the sake of communion with man.

@Plantgarden88 In the Bible it says, the grieving will be comforted. Just know God is there and he loves, even when you hate him with entire being and deny him. He will forever love you and he is there for you. He loves you so much that he sent his son to die for you, if your mom believed in Christ, you will see her again.
