Chapter 7 : Jeong - sil (淨室,정실)... A Place for Pure Rituals ... Article 9.
■ Definiton : A pure Chamber is a place to serve God (Hananim)
by worshiping with sincerity and woeshiping with sincerity and engraving
His presence in one′s heart so it is never forgotten.
■ Environment : One should seek a location that is high and free of moisture.
It is important to prohibit anythtng that produces odors or is unclean,
and to block out noisy distractions.
■ Ritual Practice : Do not make the ceremonies or rituals excessively
cumbersome or complicated.
■ Implemnts : For the tools used during rituals, their value as " precious treasures"
is not what matters, the essential requirement is that they are clean and pure.

● 淨室者는 尊奉天神之處也라 卜陟乾하며 (정실자는 존봉천신지처야라 복척건하며)
The pure Chamber is the place where one reverently serves the Heavenly God,
choose asite that is elevated and dry.
● 禁葷穢하며 絶喧譁하며 勿繁式이요 (금훈예하며 정훤화하며 물번식이요)
Forbid pungent odors and impurities , cut off loud clamor,
and do not use overly elaborate ceremonies.
● 器具는 不在重寶요 質潔是要니라. (기구는 부재중보요 질결시요니라.)
Regarding the ritual implements, they do not need to be rare treasures,
their purity and cleanliness are what is essential.
▣ Interpretation(풀이) ▣
■ The Nature of God : God (Hananim, 一神 일신) is divided into three to become
the Sam - sin( Three Gods).
■ The three Sages : The greatness of the Sam -sin is enhanced through
harmony with the Sam - seong(three Sages).
■ Divine Inheritance : The Sam - seong bestowed the good, pure(淸,청),
and profound(厚,후) sam -jin(Three Truths) of the Sam - sin upon humanity.
threrfore, every human is essentially the Sam - jin, the Sam - seong,
the Sam _ sin, and GOd Himself.
■ Goguryeo Tradition : King Go - Jumong, the founder of Goguryeo,
stated in the Gaemul - gyohwa - gyeong that when God created humans,
He modeled them after His own image and gave them the Sam - jin equally.
This allows humans to exist in the world as representatives of Heaven.
■ Simplicity of Worship : Since the root of a human is divine,
the place where one honors this root( the Jeong - sil) dose not to be
luxurious or grand. It only requires cleanliness.
■ The Good Heart : What truly matters is the good heart of the person
entering that sacred space.
■ Humanitarian Mission : The ultimate goal is to practice profound kindness(厚,후)
toward all people on behalf of God.
This is the literal application of the Sam - jin received from God.
■ True Offerings : Offerings are the "blood, sweat, and tears" of the people.
A priest should use these to benefit those in need,
embodying the spirit of Honglk Ingan(Broadly benefiting the human world).
■ Divine Joy : Using resources to help the suffering and hungry is the path of
joy for humanity, the Three Sages, and God.
■ Goal : The Jeong -sil( Pure Chamber) is the fundamental element required
to eventually turn the entire world into a Pure Land(淨土,정토).

● Sam - jin (三眞,삼진) : The "three Truths" ― the original divine
nature inherent in humans.
● Hong Ingan(弘益人間,홍익인간) : The core Korean Philosphy
of serving the greater good of all mankind.
● Pure Land(淨土,정토) : An ideal, peaceful world achieved
through spiritual and moral purity.
