18. 대만불자들의 방문, The Visit of Taiwanese Buddhists

[眞如華]

이해 가을 범어사에서 <천일 대장정 화엄대법회>가 입재되었다.

이미 오랜 세월동안 통도사에서는 연초에 <화엄법회>를 열어 왔었다.

     “부산 울산 경남에 '화엄경 불법 겨루기'에 돌입하듯이

     화엄산림 법회가 열려서 신도들이 즐거운 비명을 지른다”

불교계 신문들이 이런 기사를 발송했다.

큰 법회가 열리는 곳마다 무비스님은 『대방광불화엄경 강설』책을 싣고가서 참여한 신도들에게 법공양을 올렸다.

2017년부터 BBS에서 스님들께 강의하는 무비스님의 화엄법회가 방영되기 시작했다. 전국의 불자들이 TV를 통해서 화엄경 법회를 시청할 수 있게 되었다. 이 프로그램은 BBS의 간판 프로가 되었다.

2012년부터 문수선원에서 시작한 불자들을 위한 『화엄경』강의도 같이 방영됐다.

전국의 사찰과 유튜브를 통해 <화엄법회>가 열리고, 장기간 진행하는 <화엄산림>이 늘어났다.

『화엄경』에 나오는 무수한 명언명구가 사람들의 입에 회자되었다.

무비스님이 조계사에서 들려준 ‘이근공덕’ 한 씨앗이 자연스럽게 세상에 발현되기 시작했다.

In the autumn of this year, the 'Thousand-Day Great Hwaeom Assembly' began at Beomeosa Temple.

For a long time, Tongdosa Temple has been holding the Hwaeom Assembly at the beginning of every year.

    “As if entering ‘a friendly competition of the Buddha-dharma’,

    Hwaeom Sallim Assemblies are opening across Busan, Ulsan,

    and Gyeongnam, and followers are happily overwhelmed by it all.”

Buddhist newspapers published articles like this.

Wherever a large assembly was held, Mubi Seunim brought his books, Lectures on the Avatamsaka Sutra, and offered them to the followers as a Dharma offering.

Since 2017, Mubi Seunim’s Hwaeom Assemblies for monks have been broadcast

on BBS.

Buddhists across the country could now watch the Hwaeom Assembly on TV,

This program became the flagship show of BBS.

Along with those, the Avatamsaka Sutra lectures for lay Buddhists, which began at Munsu Seonwon in 2012, were also broadcast.

Now, Hwaeom assemblies are held in temples and on YouTube everywhere,

and long-term Hwaeom Sallim events have increased.

Countless famous quotes and verses from the Avatamsaka Sutra were on everyone’s lips.

The seed of 'the benefit of hearing' which Mubi Seunim first shared at Jogyesa, has naturally begun to bloom in the world.
