Talk about Online Concerts.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about changes

in cultural performances in the past year.

As social distancing measures dragged on all year,

large-scale gaterings were off limits in many cases.

So, musicals, plays, concerts, and annual music festivals

were mostly postponed, downsized, or cancelled.

However, people who were exhausted by the outbreak

were in dire need of performances to comfort them.

That's why world-class artists like Lady Gaga, Elton John,

and Paul McCartney all held concerts online, free of charge.

I saw their performances from home and I was deepl moved.

Recently, I also watched an online concert by BTS from home.

I had to pay for the tickets, but various CG effects really

amped up the excitement of an online performance.

온라인 콘서트에 대해서 이야기해 주세요

코로나19 대유행으로 인해 지난 일 년간 문화 공연계에

많은 변화가 있었다.

사회적 거리 두기 조치가 일 년 내내 계속되면서 대규모

집회 집합이 금지되는 경우가 많았다.

따라서 뮤지컬, 연극, 콘서트를 비롯해서 매년 열리는 뮤직

페스티벌이 대부분 연기되거나 축소 혹은 취소되었다.

하지만 코로나19 사태로 지친 사람들의 마음을 위로하기 위해

이러한 문화 공연들이 절실하게 필요했다.

그래서 레이디 가가, 엘튼 존, 폴 매카트니와 같은 세계적인

뮤지션들이 온라인상에서 무료 콘서트를 열기도 했다.

나도 집에서 그들의 공연를 보고 큰 감동을 받았다.

최근에는 BTS의 온라인 콘서트도 집에서 볼 수 있었다.

표를 구매해야 했지만, 다양한 CG 효과로 온라인 콘서트의

매력을 더욱 즐길 수 있었다.

오늘 주제는 Online Concerts 네요.

코로나로 사람들이 모이지 못하면서 기획사들이 시도한

Online Concerts에 대한 얘기를 하나봅니다.

전 세계적으로 핫한 BTS도 작년에 Online Concerts를 하면서 

큰 이슈가 되었던 것이 생각납니다.

   이 문제는 평소에 관심이 많지 않던 분야라 별로 생각나는 것이 

   없네요.  코로나19 확산세가 심각해지면서 많은 공연들이 취소되고, 

   최근에는 온라인으로 진행되기도 한다는 정도 생각이 나네요.

2. Do you prefer going to concerts or movies, or watching them 

   at home?

  사실 현장에서 공연을 보는 느낌이 많이 다르죠. 생동감이라던가, 

  사운드, 관중들의 리액션 모든 것이 집에서 보는 것과는 차원이 

  다르다고 할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 시간적인 여력이 된다면 당연히 

  현장 공연을 선호합니다.

3. What are some forms of entertainment that can be better enjoyed 

   at home?

   엔터테인먼트라는 장르에 어떤 것들이 포함되는지 정확히 알 지 못하다 

   보니 적절한 답을 할 수 있을지 의문이네요. 최근에는 싱어게인이나 

   복면가왕 같은 음악 예능 방송을 즐겨 보는 편이긴 한데, 그런 프로그램도 

   결국 공연방송이다 보니 현장에서의 감동이 더 진할 것 같긴 합니다.​

With COVID-19 outbreak, there have been big changes 

in cultural sector for an last year. 

Social distancing measures have been going along the whole year, 

there were many cases banning large-scale gathering. 

So, concluding musicals, acts, concerts and music festival holding 

every year, those were put off, made them small or canceled.​

However healing the people who have exhausted from COVID-19 

outbreak, those cultural things have needed a lot.
