그들이 물어 가로되 선생님이여 우리가 아노니 당신은 바로 말씀하시고 가르치시며 사람을 외모로 취치 아니하시고 오직 참으로서 하나님의 도를 가르치시나이다 우리가 가이사에게 세를 바치는 것이 가하니이까 불가하니이까 하니

예수께서 그 간계를 아시고 가라사대 데나리온 하나를 내게 보이라 뉘 화상과 글이 여기 있느냐 대답하되 가이사의 것이니이다 가라사대 그런즉 가이사의 것은 가이사에게, 하나님의 것은 하나님께 바치라 하시니

Luke 20:21-25

So the spies questioned him: "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" He saw through their duplicity and said to them, "Show me a denarius. Whose portrait and inscription are on it?" "Caesar's," they replied. He said to them, "Then give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's.“

예수님을 고소하기 원하는 자들이 예수님께 접근하여 간교하게 질문하였다. ” 당신은 사람을 외모로 취하지 않고, 인내로서 하나님의 말씀을 가르치시나이다.“ 그들은 아주 공순하고 친절한 모습으로 예수님을 칭찬했다, 그러나 그들의 마음은 예수님을 올무에 걸려 죽게 하는 것이다. 그들의 간교한 입술은 예수님 앞에 함정을 놓았다. ”예수님, 우라기 가이사에게 세금을 바쳐야 합니까, 바치지 않아야 합니까?“

만약 예수님께서 가이사에게 세금을 바치라 하면 이스라엘 백성들은 예수님을 로마군의 앞잡이로 여기고 그를 따르지 않을 것이다, 그리고 세금을 바치지 말라 한다면 로마군인들이 예수를 반란자로 여기고 채포할 것이다. 인간 생각으로는 예수님께서 그 함정을 빠져나올 수 없다, 예수님은 진퇴양난에 빠진 것이다. 그러나 예수님의 진리는 무한하시고, 모든 인간들의 함정과 불가능 한 일에서 항상 자유하신 것입니다.

주님께서 그들에게 명쾌히 대답하셨습니다. ”가이사의 것은 가이사에게 바치고 하나님의 것은 하나님께 바쳐라“ 주님의 말씀은 이것이다, 하나님의 백성은 국가를 운영하는데 필요한 세금은 국가에 내고, 하나님을 섬기고 성전을 관리하는데 필요한 경비는 교회에 바치라는 것입니다. 이는 참으로 합당한 말씀입니다. 이 땅에 사는 하나님의 백성은 주님의 뜻 안에서 육신의 생활도 이뤄야 하고, 영혼도 잘 관리해야 할 책임이 있다.

세상의 대통령과 정치인들이 아무리 악한 다들이라도 그리스도인들은 합당한 세금을 국가에 납부하여 국가가 운영되게 해야 하고 치안이 유지되게 해야 한다는 것입니다. 우리의 몸이 살아 있어야 몸 안에 담겨있는 우리의 영혼이 하나님을 섬기고 이웃을 섬기고, 하나님의 나라와 의를 이룰 수 있는 것이다. 육신의 장막이 무어질 때 우리의 영혼은 세상에 남아 있을 수 없고, 천국 아니면 지옥으로 즉시 떠나가야 하는 것이다.

예수님을 미혹하여 넘어뜨리려 했던 사탄은 오늘날에도 그 때와 똑같은 방식으로 하나님의 백성을 유혹하는 것이다. 그들은 매우 친절하고 부드러운 모습으로 다가와서 성경 말씀을 왜곡하는 것이다. 이들에게 미혹 되는 그리스도인들은 하나님의 말씀을 잃고 인간의 멸망의 교리를 따른다. 하나님의 자녀가 사탄의 종으로 전락하는 것이다. 하나님의 진리의 말씀은 항상 변하지 않는다. 유일한 하나님만을 구원자로 믿는 것이고, 주님의 말씀에만 순종하는 것이고, 죄를 지었을 때는 지체 없이 회개하여 주님의 말씀으로 다시 돌아오는 것이다.

인간의 교리는 하나님의 말씀을 흐리게 만든다, 회개와 순종을 버리게 하여 생명의 진리를 떠나게 만드는 것이다.외모로 사람을 판단하지 말라, 오직 하나님의 말씀으로 인간의 중심을 구분하고 판단해야 한다.당신의 명예와 정욕을 충족시키주면서 침투하려는 사탄의 작전과 계략에 넘어가지 말라. 하나님의 말씀으로 항상 분별하여 사탄의 유혹과 미혹을 항상 물리쳐야 한다, 인간의 모든 교리는 사탄의 유혹이다, 이는 성경 진리를 거부하는 것이다.

Those who wanted to accuse Jesus approached Him and cunningly questioned Him.“You do not show partiality, but patiently teach the word of God.”They praised Jesus with a very gentle and kind appearance, but their hearts were set on trapping Him and causing His death. Their cunning lips laid a trap for Him.“Jesus, should we pay taxes to Caesar or not?”If Jesus said to pay taxes to Caesar, the Israelites would see Him as a puppet of the Roman army and would not follow Him. If He said not to pay taxes, the Roman soldiers would see Him as a traitor and arrest Him.

Human thinking would make it impossible for Jesus to escape this trap. He was caught in a dilemma.However, Jesus’ truth is infinite and always free from all human traps and impossibilities. The Lord answered them clearly. "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." The Lord's words are this: God's people should pay taxes to the state to run the nation, and give to the church the expenses necessary to serve God and maintain the temple. This is truly a fitting command.

God's people living on this earth must live their physical lives according to the Lord's will, and they have a responsibility to care for their souls well. No matter how evil the world's presidents and politicians may be, Christians must pay appropriate taxes to the state to ensure the nation's operation and maintain public order. Our bodies must be alive so that our souls, contained within them, can serve God and our neighbors, and achieve God's kingdom and righteousness.

When the physical tabernacle is torn down, our souls cannot remain on earth and must immediately depart for either heaven or hell. Satan, who tried to deceive and overthrow Jesus, continues to tempt God's people today in the same way. They approach us in a very kind and gentle manner, distorting the words of the Bible. Christians who are deceived by them lose God's Word and follow human doctrines of destruction. God's children become servants of Satan.

God's Word of Truth never changes. It means believing in the one and only God as Savior, obeying only the Word of the Lord, and repenting without delay and returning to the Word of the Lord when we sin. Human doctrines obscure God's Word, causing us to abandon repentance and obedience, and thus turn away from the truth of life.

Do not judge a person by his or her appearance. Only by the Word of God should we discern and judge the heart of a person. Do not fall for Satan's schemes and tactics to infiltrate us while satisfying your honor and lusts. We must always discern with God's word and resist Satan's temptations and delusions. All human doctrines are Satan's temptations, rejecting the truth of the Bible.
