1989년 2월 1일 세계일보가 16면 조간으로 창간호를 발간하였다.

1989年2月1日、世界日報が16面朝刊として創刊号を発刊した。

The first issue of Segye Ilbo—also known as Segye Times—was published with 16 pages on February 1, 1989.

참부모님께서는 이념과 체제의 대결이 극심한 시점, 정치적·경제적·학술적 수단 보다도 언론이 사회에 주는 영향이 더 빠르다고 말씀하시며,

真の父母様は理念と体制の対決が深刻な時期、政治的・経済的・学術的手段よりもマスコミが社会に与える影響がより早いと語られ、

According to True Parents, during the course of severe ideological and institutional confrontation, the media has a faster impact on society as opposed to political, economic, or academic means.

평화와 자유와 하나님의 창조 이상이 실현되고 참사랑이 꽃피는 인류공영의 세계를 건설하기 위해서는 참된 언론의 역할이 필수불가결하다고 강조해 오셨다.

平和と自由と神様の創造理想が実現し、真の愛が花開く人類共栄の世界を建設するためには、真なる言論の役割が必要不可欠だと強調して来られた。

They placed emphasis on the role of "true media" which is essential in order for the realization of God's ideal of creation, and the establishment of a world of mutual prosperity where true love blossoms.

세계일보는 이러한 정신아래 자유로운 사회정의를 수호하고 사회에 참사랑의 가치를 교육하는 기관으로 창간되었다.

世界日報はこのような精神の下、自由な社会正義を守り、社会に真の愛の価値を教育する新聞として創刊された。

With this, Segye Ilbo was launched as an institution which will defend free social justice and educate society on true love.

창간 이후 세계일보는 수서택지 특혜분양사건, 문선명 총재 방북, 고르바초프-옐친 소련 연방 해체 합의 등 수많은 특종으로 대한민국을 뒤흔들어 놓으며 존재가치를 증명했고,

創刊以来、世界日報は水西宅地特恵分譲事件、文鮮明総裁訪朝、ゴルバチョフエリツィンソ連連邦解体合意など数多くのスクープで韓国を揺るがしてその存在価値を証明し

After its launch, Segye Ilbo covered exclusive incidents such as the 1991 Suseo Housing Case, Rev. Sun Myung Moon's visit to North Korea, Gorbachev- Yeltsin Agreement to Dissolve the Soviet Union, etc. which generated its positive reputation in South Korea.

많은 식구들은 남북통일에 기여한다는 심정으로 이른 새벽부터 졸린 눈을
비비며 전국 방방곳곳에 세계일보를 배달했다.

多くの食口は南北統一に寄与するという心情で、早朝から眠い目をこすりながら全国各地に世界日報を配達した。

With a heart of wanting to contribute to North-South unification, many members at that time took it upon themselves to deliver Segye Ilbo newspapers throughout the nation.

참부모님께서는 1월 31일 창간기념식에서 '안팎이 사랑을 중심으로 하나되어 세계에 영향을 미치라'는 의미로 애천・애인・애국 (愛天 愛人 愛國)의 휘호를 내려 주셨다.

真の父母様は1月31日の創刊記念式で「内外の愛を中心に一つとなり、世界に影響を及ぼしなさい」という意味で愛天・愛人・愛国の揮毫をくださった。

On January 31, during the commemoration ceremony for the launch of Segye Ilbo, True Parents wrote down the words "Love God (愛天), Love Humanity (愛人), Love Your Nation (愛國)” in calligraphy stating that it means “to unite internally and externally centering on love, and influence the world".

이 휘호는 이후 통일가 모든 교육기관의 교육 이념으로 자리잡아 사회 교육, 청소년 교육의 지표가 되었다.

この揮毫は以降、統一家すべての教育機関の教育理念として定着し、社会教育、青少年教育の指標となった。

These words later became the leading ideology in all educational institutes of our movement, and the guide for educating youth and society in general.

世界日報は正義には涙が多く、不義には許しがないでしょう。世界日報は政党を超越 し、いかなる特定の宗派のためにも無く、国民の利益と国家の利のために血と汗を惜しまないでしょう。

一言でいって、世界日報は韓民族の矜持であり、世界人の誇りとなるでしょう。

世界日報はアメリカのワシントン・タイムズと共に、東西に高くそびえ立つ真理の燈台になって、真と偽りを明らかに区分する理性紙であり、真の自民主主義の燈火になるでしょう。
