3. 갈비뼈 하나가 뜻하는 것
 
‘위대한 남성이 있다면, 그 뒤에는 반드시 위대한 여성이 있다.’

서양에서 전해 오는 격언 중 하나입니다. 남성이 더 온전하게 되도록 도와주는 사람이 여성입니다. 아내가 없으면 남편은 온전해지지 못합니다. 마찬가지로 여성이 침묵하는 사회는 평화롭고 정의로운 세상을 만들지 못합니다.

그리고 여성은 어머니의 소명을 다해야 합니다. 어머니는 자녀를 낳고, 그 자녀를 인격을 갖춘 올바른 인간으로 양육해야 합니다. 그것은 여성만이 지닌 권한이면서 또한 책임이기도 합니다.

여성들이 자녀나 남편에게 또는 사회에서 인정받지 못하는 현실이 나는 늘 안타까웠습니다. 여성은 시대마다 고난의 앞길에서 큰 역할을 해왔습니다. 특히 통일교회 여성들은 참부모의 말씀에 따라 하나님을 모신 참된 딸, 참된 아내, 참된 어머니의 책임을 다하기 위해 지구촌 곳곳에서 땀을 흘렸습니다. 그것이 쉽지는 않았지만 결코 불가능한 일은 아니었습니다.

여성들이 지금까지 해온 대로 기존의 관습에 젖어 남성을 흉내 내고, 자신들의 위상만 높이려 해서는 안 됩니다. 남성과 여성은 대립하는 관계가 아닙니다. 참사랑으로 자기 것을 상대에게 베풂으로써 상대를 완성시켜 주고 하나가 됨으로써 서로를 공유하는 관계입니다. 여성은 남성의 보조자나 보호 대상이 아니라, 하나님의 또 다른 일성을 대표하는 자리에서 남성을 온전하게 해주는 독립된 인격체입니다.

이제 여성은 하늘 법도를 따라 참부모를 모시고 새로운 심정문화 세계를 이루는 주인공이 되어야 합니다. 타락의 속성을 벗어던지고 새로이 이룩할 본연의 문화, 인류가 애타게 찾는 사랑과 선의 문화를 꽃피워야 합니다. 집안에서도 참사랑의 화신으로 남편을 품고 참부모의 심정으로 아들딸을 길러야 합니다.

하나님의 축복이 머물고 본연의 사랑이 흘러넘치는 가정을 이루어야 할 주역은 바로 여성입니다. 참된 어머니의 길과 더불어 참된 아내의 길, 참된 딸의 길을 가야 합니다.

이제 앞으로 다가올 세상은 여성의 모성과 사랑, 친화력이 바탕되는 화해와 평화의 세계입니다. 여성의 힘이 세상을 구할 시기가 도래했습니다.

3. 1本のあばら骨が意味すること

西洋には「偉大な男性の背後には、必ず偉大な女性がいる」という格言があります。このように、 男性がより完全になるようにサポートする存在が、女性です。妻がいなければ、夫は完全にはなれません。また、女性が沈黙せざるを得ない社会では、平和と正義を実現することはできません。

さらに、女性は母の使命を全うしなければなりません。その使命とは、子女を生み、人格を備えた正しい人間として育て上げることです。それは女性だけが持つ権限であり、責任でもあります。私は、女性たちが夫や子女から、あるいは社会から認められていない現実を、いつも残念に思ってきました。

女性はそれぞれの時代において、苦難を前にして大きな役割を果たしてきました。特に家庭連合の女性たちは、真の父母のみ言に従い、神様に侍る真なる娘、真なる妻、真なる母の責任を果たすため、世界各地で汗を流してきました。それは簡単なことではありませんでしたが、彼女たちは決して弱音を吐かず、活動に取り組んできたのです。

これまで多くの女性たちがしてきたように、世の中の風潮に従って男性の真似をしたり、その中で女性の地位だけを高めようとしたりしてはいけません。聖書には、「神は人から取ったあばら骨でひとりの女を造り」（創世記二章二二節）とあります。男性と女性は、対立する関係ではありません。真の愛によって自分のものを相手に与え、相手を完成させて、一つになることで、 互いを共有する関係なのです。女性は、単なる男性の補助者や保護対象ではなく、神様のもう一つの性を代表した立場であり、男性を完全にもする、独立した人格体なのです。

今こそ女性は、天の法度に従い、真の父母に侍って、新しい心情文化世界を築く主人公にならなければなりません。堕落性を脱き捨てて、新たにつくり上げる本然の文化、人類が切に探し求める愛と善の文化を花咲かせなければなりません。家庭の中でも真の愛の化身として、夫を抱き、真の父母の心情をもって子女を育てなければなりません。

神様の祝福が根を下ろし、本然の愛があふれる家庭を築く主役は、女性です。真なる娘の道と共に、真なる妻の道、真なる母の道を歩まなければなりません。

今後訪れるのは、女性の母性と愛、異なるものを一つに結ぶ力に基づいた、和解と平和の世界です。女性のカが世を救う時代が到来したのです。

3. A vision of true womanhood

There is an old saying in the West, “Behind every great man is a great woman.” It is true. The wife is necessary for the completion and perfection of the husband. Without his wife, a husband cannot be whole. A society in which womanhood does not complete and perfect manhood cannot give rise to a peaceful and just world.

Women need to fulfill the mission of the wife as well as the mission of the mother. Both are essential to create a peaceful and just world. The mother gives birth to children and is called to raise them through their formative years. That is a right and responsibility given primarily to women.

I have always been saddened by the reality of this world in which so often husbands fail to honor their wives, and children fail to honor their mothers. In every age, righteous women have carried out their missions as wives and mothers in the face of hardships.

Following the path of women saints of all religious traditions, the women of our Unification movement, in response to the heart of True Parents, have attended God while shedding their sweat and tears throughout our global village. True Parents revealed the truth of the human Fall, and liberated women to fulfill their responsibilities as true daughters, true wives and true mothers. In this age, by God's providence, what was previously impossible has been made possible.

Women are independent beings who represent God's feminine aspect and thus make men whole. It is time for women to rise above the popular trend of trying to improve their status by imitating men.

This only casts the relationship between men and women as one of competition in a culture that ignores their God-given and God-incarnating uniqueness. God designed men and women for a relationship in which each gives their divine and unique gifts to the other, and each receives the other's divine and unique gifts with true awareness and love.

Women are not just men's assistants any more than men are women's assistants. Women and men need each other's protection. Through the true man-woman relationship, each perfects the other and becomes one with the other. Each is a part of the other in the creation of a greater whole, embodied as a child, as a family, as a nation, and as the world.

At this time, women need to follow Heaven's way, attend True Parents, and become central figures who together with men bring forth a new world based on the culture of heart. We need to rid ourselves of fallen traits and realize the original culture, bringing to fruition the nation and world of goodness and love long sought by humanity. This begins at the center of the world—the home—where each woman embraces her husband as the embodiment of true love, and raises their sons and daughters with the heart of a true parent.

Based upon God's providence, my husband and I have called women to take the lead in the creation of families that embody God's original plan-families in which the wife lives for her husband, the husband for his wife, the parents for their children and children for their parents. Such a family will overflow with love and God's blessings will come to stay.

Women need to walk the path of a true mother and, at the same time, the path of a true wife and the path of a true daughter. Women have the magical power to create harmony and to soften hearts. Brides build bridges. The world of the future can be a world of reconciliation and peace, but only if it is based on the maternal love and affection of women. This is the true power of womanhood. The time has come for the power of true womanhood to save the world.
