John 6:5~13

5. When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?"


6. He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.


7. Philip answered him, "Eight months' wages would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!"


8. Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up,


9. "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?"


10. Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them.


11. Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.


12. When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted."


13. So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

5. 예수께서 고개를 들어 보니, 큰 무리들이 자기 쪽으로 다가오는 것을 보고, 빌립에게 말씀하셨다. `우리가 이 백성들이 먹을 빵을 어디서 사야 합니까?'


6. 그는 자신이 무엇을 할 것인지 이미 염두에 두고 있었기 때문에 이것을 시험하기 위해서만 요청했다.


7. 빌립이 그에게 대답하였다. `팔 개월 동안의 임금으로는 한 사람 한 사람이 먹을 만큼의 빵을 살 수 없을 것이다.'


8. 그의 제자들 가운데 또 한 사람, 시몬 베드로의 형인 안드레가 큰 소리로 말했다,


9. "여기 작은 보리밥 다섯 개와 작은 물고기 두 마리를 가진 소년이 있는데, 그 많은 것들 가운데서 어디까지 갈 것인가?"


10. 예수께서 말씀하셨다. `백성들을 앉게 하소서.' 그 자리에는 풀이 무성하니, 사람들이 앉았는데, 이 풀은 5천 개 정도였다.


11. 예수님은 그 후에 빵을 가져가서 감사를 드렸고, 앉아 있는 사람들에게 마음껏 나누어 주었습니다. 그는 물고기들에게도 똑같이 했습니다.


12. 그들이 먹을 만큼 다 먹고 나서, 그는 제자들에게 말하였다. `남아 있는 조각들을 모아라. 아무 것도 낭비하지 말아라.'


13. 그래서 그들은 그것들을 모아 놓고, 먹은 사람들이 남긴 보리 다섯 포기 조각으로 열두 바구니를 채웠다.)
