성경말씀: 말라기 1~4장

Scripture Reading: Malachi 1~4

“내가 너희를 사랑하였다 하였으나 너희는 주께서 우리를 어떻게 사랑하셨나이까 하므로 나 여호와가 말하노라 에서와 야곱이 형제라도 내가 야곱은 사랑하였고, 에서는 미워하였으며 그의 산들을 황폐시켰고 그의 산업을 광야의 이리들에게 주었음이라. 에돔이 우리가 무너뜨림을 당하였으나 황폐된 곳을 다시 쌓으리라 하였으나 그들은 쌓을지라도 여호와의 영원한 진노를 받은 백성이므로 나는 헐리라 사람들이 그들을 일컬어 악한 땅이라 하리라(1:2-4)” 하였듯, 하나님께서 가르치지 아니하시면 말씀에 숨겨진 진리를 사람들은 결코 깨닫지 못합니다.

Unless God teaches us, people will never understand the truth hidden in His word, as “I have loved you, says the Lord. But you ask, ‘How have you loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? The Lord says. Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his mountains into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals. Edom may say, ‘Though we have been crushed, we will rebuild the ruins. But this is what the Lord Almighty says: They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called the Wicked Land, a people always under the wrath of the Lord (1:2-4)”

그래서 “너희는 여호와의 식탁이 더럽혀졌으니 그 음식도 경멸할 것이 되었다 하며 내 이름을 더럽혔음이라. 너희가 여호와를 섬기는 일이 너무 힘들다 불평하며 계명에는 코웃음 치고 다치고 절고 병든 것을 제물로 가져오니 너희의 그런 제물을 내가 받겠느냐, 나는 위대한 왕이고 온 세상 모든 민족이 나의 이름을 두려워하리니 자기 양떼 가운데 좋은 숫양을 바치기로 서원하고 흠 있는 동물로 제사를 드리는 자는 저주를 받으리라(1:12-14)” 하였듯, 자신의 경배가 하나님께 멸망의 심판을 받을 죄가 된다는 사실도 깨닫지 못합니다.

So, they don’t realize that their faith and worship to God are evidence of their judgement of destruction, as “You profane it by saying of the Lord’s table, ‘It is defiled, and of its food, ‘It is contemptible. And you say, ‘What a burden. And you sniff at it contemptuously, says the Lord Almighty. When you bring injured, crippled or diseased animals and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept them from your hands? (1:12-14)”

그래서 “제사장들아 나의 훈계를 들으라. 내 말을 듣고 마음에 새기며 내 이름에 영광을 돌리지 아니하면 내가 너희에게 준 복을 저주하리라 너희가 내 이름을 경외할 마음이 없으므로 내가 이미 저주하였느니라. 너희로 말미암아 내가 너희의 자손을 꾸짖고 너희가 드리는 절기의 희생의 똥을 너희 얼굴에 발라 너희를 그것과 함께 끌려가게 하리라(2:1-3)” 하였듯, 멸망의 심판으로 경고하며 회개로 인도하십니다.

So, God foretells the judgement of destruction and leads us to repentance, as “Now this admonition is for you, O priests. If you do not listen, and if you do not set your heart to honor my name, says the Lord Almighty, ‘I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not set your heart to honor me. Because of you I will rebuke your descendants; I will spread on your faces the offal from your festival sacrifices, and you will be carried off with it (2:1-3)”

그래서 “내가 레위와 맺은 언약을 항상 지키게 하려고 경고하였음을 너희가 알게 되리라. 내가 레위인과 맺은 언약은 그들에게 생명과 평강의 언약을 주어 나를 경외하며 내 이름을 크게 두려워하게 함이었느니라. 그의 입에는 참된 교훈이 있었고 거짓이 없었으며 화평과 정직으로 나와 동행하며 많은 사람들을 죄악에서 돌이키게 하였느니라. 제사장은 전능하신 여호와의 사자로서 그의 입술은 지식을 보존해야 하고 사람들이 그에게서 가르침을 받아야 함이니라 (2:4-7)” 하였듯, 자상하게 가르치며 일깨우셨고, “너희가 그 길에서 돌아서서 레위인과 세운 언약을 어겼고 네 가르침으로 많은 사람을 죄에 빠뜨렸느니라. 나의 진리를 따르지 않고 율법을 편파적으로 해석하는 너희가 모든 백성 앞에서 멸시와 천대를 당하게 하였느니라(2:8-9)” 하였듯, 지도자들의 잘못으로 백성들이 고난의 징계와 연단을 받게 되었다 하셨습니다.

So, God taught and awakened us in detail, as “You will know that I have sent you this admonition so that my covenant with Levi may continue. My covenant was with him, a covenant of life and peace, and I gave them to him; this called for reverence and he revered me and stood in awe of my name. True instruction was in his mouth and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many from sin. For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, and from his mouth men should seek instruction-because he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty (2:4-7)” And God said that the people would be disciplined through suffering due to the false teachings of their leaders, as “You have turned from the way and by your teaching have caused many to stumble; you have violated the covenant with Levi, says the Lord Almighty. So, I have caused you to be despised and humiliated before all the people, because you have not followed my ways but have shown partiality in matters of the law (2:8-9)”

또한 “유다는 신뢰를 깨뜨리고 이방 신의 딸과 결혼하여 여호와가 사랑하는 성소를 더럽히므로 이스라엘과 예루살렘에 가증한 일을 저질렀느니라. 그런 일을 하는 자들은 전능하신 여호와께 제사를 드릴지라도 이스라엘의 백성 가운데에서 끊어버리시리라. 너희가 눈물과 통곡과 탄식으로 여호와의 제단을 적시는 것은 여호와께서 너희의 제물에 관심도 없고 받지 아니하시기 때문이라(3:11-13)” 하였듯, 사람들이 육신의 욕망을 따라 무심코 저지르게 되는 죄악을 일깨우셨습니다.

Also, God reminded people of the sins they commit unintentionally, following their own desires, as “Judah has broken faith. A detestable thing has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem: Judah has desecrated the sanctuary the Lord loves, by marrying the daughter of a foreign god. As for the man who does this, whoever he may be, may the Lord cut him off from the tents of Jacob-even though he brings offerings to the Lord Almighty. Another thing you do: You flood the Lord’s altar with tears. You weep and wail your offerings or accepts them with pleasure you’re your hands (3:11-13)”

그리고 “너희의 몸과 영혼의 주 여호와가 너와 네 아내를 한 몸으로 만드신 것은 혼돈된 세상에서 경건한 자손을 얻으려는 것이니 네 자신을 스스로 지키며 어려서 맞이한 아내에게 충실하라. 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와가 말하노라 포악하게 피로 더럽히고 옷으로 덮으려는 이혼을 내가 미워하므로 너희 스스로 마음을 지키며 네 아내에게 충실하라(3:15-16)” 하였듯, 하나님께서 원하시는 진실한 뜻을 가르치며 회개로 인도하셨습니다.

And God teaches us the true will He desires for us and leads us to repentance, as “Has not the Lord made them one? I flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So, guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth. I hate divorce, says the Lord God of Israel, and I hate a men’s covering himself in your spirit, and do not break faith (3:15-16)”

그리고, “내가 내 사자를 보내어 그가 내 길을 예비하면 너희가 찾는 여호와가 홀연히 성전에 임하고 너희가 사모하는 언약의 사자가 임하리라. 금속을 단련하는 불과 표백하는 잿물과 같은 그가 임하시는 날을 누가 감당하며 견디겠느냐, 그가 은을 연단하며 찌꺼기를 제거하는 것처럼 레위인을 연단하며 깨끗하게 하므로 그들이 여호와가 기쁘게 받을 의로운 제물을 바치리라. 그 때에 여호와가 지난 시절처럼 유다와 예루살렘 사람들이 가져오는 봉헌물을 기쁘게 받으리라(3:1-4)” 하였듯, 성령께서 가르치는 진리를 사랑하며 마음이 열려야만 진리의 말씀이 임마누엘 하나님이 되어 육신의 죄악과 저주를 제거하여 올바르고 합당한 믿음으로 거듭나게 하십니다.

And only when we loves the truth taught by the Holy Spirit and open our hearts for it, then God be Immanuel onto us and removes the sins and curses in our flesh with the Word of Truth and regenerates us with the right faith in Christ, as “See, I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come. But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years (3:1-4)”

그러면, “전능하신 여호와가 말하노라 너희가 온전한 십일조를 창고에 들여 나의 집에 양식이 있게 하고 나를 시험하여 보라 내가 하늘 문을 열고 너희에게 쌓을 곳이 없도록 홍수처럼 복을 부어주지 아니하나 보라. 해충이 너희 밭의 곡식을 먹지 못하게 하며 너희 밭의 포도나무 열매가 떨어지지 않게 하리라. 너희 땅이 아름다운 땅이 되므로 모든 이방인들이 너희를 복되다 하리라(3:10-12)” 하였듯, 하나님의 뜻을 올바로 알고 순종하여 예비된 복을 받아 번영하게 돕니다.

Then, he can correctly understanding and obeying God’s will, and he will receive the blessings prepared for him and prosper, as “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, and see, if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit. Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land, says the Lord Almighty. (3:10-12)”

그리고, “여호와를 경외하는 자들이 서로 말하니 여호와께서 들으시고 여호와를 경외하는 자와 그의 이름을 존중하는 자들을 여호와 앞에서 기념책에 기록하였느니라. 사람이 순종하며 효도하는 아들을 아끼듯 내가 정한 날에 그들을 아끼며 나의 특별한 소유로 삼으리라. 그때에 너희가 하나님을 섬기는 의인과 섬기지 않는 악인의 차이를 보리라(3:16-18)” 하였듯, 그리스도의 구원과 생명의 책에 이름이 기록됩니다.

And his name is written in the book of salvation and life of Christ, as “Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name. They will be mine, in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not (3:16-18)”

그리고 “용광로와 같은 불로 교만한 자와 악행하는 자들을 뿌리와 가지도 남지 아니하고 지푸라기 같이 사르는 날이 오리라. 그러나 내 이름을 경외하는 자들에게는 공의로운 해가 떠올라서 치료의 빛을 비추므로 외양간에서 나온 송아지 같이 뛰리라. 내가 그렇게 하는 날에 너희가 악인들을 발 밑에 재와 같이 짓밟으리라(4:1-3)” 하였듯, 임마누엘 하나님의 진리와 사랑으로 죄악을 정복하고 다스리며 승리하게 하십니다.

Then he can conquers and rule over his sins with the truth and love of his God of Emmanuel, as “Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire. Not a root or a branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun or righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. Then you will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things, says the Lord Almighty. (4:1-3)”

그러나 “내가 호렙에서 온 이스라엘을 위하여 내 종 모세에게 준 율례와 법도를 기억하라. 보라 여호와의 크고 두려운 날이 이르기 전에 내가 선지자 엘리야를 너희에게 보내리라. 그가 아버지의 마음을 자녀에게 돌이키고 자녀들의 마음을 아버지에게 돌이키리라 그러지 아니하면 내가 와서 저주로 그 땅을 치리라(4:4-6)” 하였듯, 율법을 따라 지키는 사랑으로 예수 그리스도의 길을 예비한 세례 요한처럼, 복음의 진리를 전하며 사람들을 그리스도께 인도하는 믿음을 죽기까지 지켜야 구원을 얻고 그러지 못하면 멸망의 심판을 받습니다. 그러므로 육신의 죽음으로 맞이하는 마지막 시험과 심판 이후에 우리의 대속과 구원이 이루어진다는 사실을 잊지 말고, 말씀을 사랑하며 성령의 가르침을 따라 임마누엘 하나님의 성전이 되고 복음의 증인이 되는 믿음 죽기까지 지켜야 됩니다. 여러분 모두 그처럼 올바른 믿음으로 구원과 영생에 이르시기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 기도합니다. 아멘.

However, everyone will be saved, who must keep the faith that leads people to faith by spreading the truth of the gospel with love according to the law and by keeping it until death. If anyone fails to keep it until death, he will be judged to destruction, as “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel. See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse. (4:4-6)” Therefore, beloved brothers and sisters, do not forget that our fulfillment comes only after the final test and judgement of physical death. We must love the Word, obey the teachings of the Holy Spirit, and maintain the faith to become the temple of God Emmanuel and a witness to the gospel. This is how we will be saved. I pray and earnestly bless you all in the name of Jesus Christ, that you may attain salvation and eternal life with such righteous faith. Amen.
