“This team loses more games in the fourth quarter than any team in the league. They know how to lose games, and they’re showing us that now.”

(3쿼터 3:08초 남기고 부른 작전타임에서) 이 팀은 4쿼터 역전패가 리그에서 제일 많은 팀이야. 어떻게 경기를 지는지 알지. 그리고 오늘 그것을 우리에게 보여줄꺼야. (그런데 그렇게 안됐죠.ㅠ)

"You know, other than (Kobe), you look at the assists, we had 12 and (the Celtics) had 21," Jackson said, pointing out the obvious.

코비 빼곤 팀 어시스트가 12개였어. 보수동은 21개였는데..

"We called a timeout and got into their faces a little bit about how we got ourselves on the wrong side of people and gave up layups," Jackson said.

(코비가 득점을 계속 하는데도 점수차가 좁혀지지 않던 3쿼터 초반) 난 타임아웃을 부르고 선수들을 쳐다봤지. 우리가 얼마나 수비 위치선정을 잘못해서 레이업을 허용하는지 얘기하고 싶었어.

"I know they were shooting a high percentage," Jackson said, "but it gets that way when you shoot layups in this game."

보수동이 높은 슛성공률을 기록했다는 걸 잘 알아. 하지만 그건 레이업을 많이 허용해서 그런거라구.

"Basketball is a pretty simple game," Jackson said. "You try to stay between the basket and your man."

농구는 어떻게 보면 아주 심플한 스포츠야. 골대와 너의 마크맨 사이에 있으려고 노력하면 되는거라구.

"I thought they used position very well in that quarter," said Jackson, setting a new record for gobbledygook.

3쿼터에 보수동이 포지션을 잘 잡았다고 생각해.

“He’s the kind of guy (where) you ride the hot hand, that’s for sure,” Jackson said. “We were waiting for him to do that. … He went out there and found a rhythm.”

코비는 그분이 오시면 폭발해서 식을때까지 슛을 계속 시도하지. 그건 확실해. 우린 코비타임이 오길 기다렸었지. 드디어 오늘 리듬을 탔어.

"You know, Ron had an opportunity," Jackson said. "But we couldn't make the play on that."

(론의 중요한 자유투) 론론에게 오늘 기회가 있었지. 하지만 성공시키지 못했어.

Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said he would reserve comment on Gasol's game until reviewing video of it, offering that he didn't know whether Gasol "was tentative or whether he had good defensive plays made against him."

가솔에 대한 평가는 오늘 경기를 다시 보고 난 후 내릴래. 그가 머뭇거리고 자신이 업섰던 것인지, 아님 그에 대한 수비가 좋았던 것인지 모르겠어.

"He didn't have a lot of opportunities in the first half, and in the second half it looked like he broke away, went by Garnett, got to the front of the hoop, and he blocked it from behind," Jackson said.

가솔은 전반에는 그닥 공격기회가 없었지. 후반엔 KG에게 지워짐을 당했지. 몇번 발리기도 했고...

"More than anything else, Andrew was out of rhythm in the game," Jackson said. "I think he'll feel much more comfortable getting back [to Los Angeles] and playing. He's really only played limited minutes since Tuesday night, so we anticipate that he'll have some opportunity to … give us more than just a big body in the sixth game."

그 다른 어떤 것 보다도, 이넘이는 오늘 제컨디션이 아니었어. 홈으로 돌아가면 훨씬 더 편안한 마음으로 경기할 수 있을 것으로 생각해. 4차전부터 상당히 제한된 시간만 플레이를 했지. 그래서 6차전에는 그저 큰 몸뚱아리로 서 있는 것보다는 더 큰 기여를 할 수 있는 기회가 있을 것으로 기대해.

"I thought we had a spirited locker room at the end of our [postgame] session there," said Phil Jackson, whose 47-0 record when his team wins Game 1 of a best-of-seven series is in jeopardy. "They had a couple things fall into place, and we felt pretty good about our comeback and the way we played at the end of the game.

포스트게임 인터뷰가 끝난 후 우리 라커룸 분위기는 활발했던 것 같아. 보수동이 오늘 잘 풀렸던 거고, 오늘 막판 추격에 대한 뒷심과 후반의 좋았던 경기력에 대한 좋은 느낌을 가진거지.

"We're upbeat about going into [Game 6]."

6차전으로 가는 분위기는 아주 긍정적이야.

"If you look at it," Jackson said postgame, "they've come home and carried the 3-2 lead back. It's basically home court/home court. Now we're going back to home court to win it. That's the way it's supposed to be, isn't it?"

생각해보면, 보수동이 홈코트로 와서 3-2로 시리즈를 만들었어. 간단하게 말해서 홈코트 경기수만큼 서로 이긴거자나. 그러니 우리도 홈으로 돌아가서 이길꺼야. 상황이 그렇게 돌아가는 거자나. 안그래?

"They got all the hustle points in terms of loose balls and offensive rebounds down the stretch, Bryant said of Boston. "We didn't convert."

막판에 오펜리바, 루즈볼 등 허슬에 의한 득점을 모두 내주고 말았어. 우리는 그러지 못했어.

"They played with more tenacity than we did in that stretch."

그들이 우리보다 더 강한 집중력과 의지로 마지막을 지배했어.

"He's been consistent for us for a while now, so he can afford to have a bad game every once and a while," Kobe Bryant said of Gasol.

파우는 한동안 꾸준한 경기력을 보여줬었어. 그러니 어쩌다 한번 안좋은 경기력을 보여줄 수도 있는거지.

"Just man up and play," Bryant commanded. "What the hell is the big deal? I don't see it as a big deal. If I have to say something to them, then we don't deserve to be champions. We're down 3-2, go home, win one game, go into the next one. Simple as that."

(라이벌? 복수? 이런걸로 팀원들을 자극시키는 것) 그런거는 읍따! 그냥 나가서 경기하는 것 뿐이지. 뭐가 그리 대수겠어? 그냥 별거 아닌 것 같은데? 팀원들에게 그런 말로 자극시킨다는 것은 우리가 챔피언이 될 자격이 없다는 것이지. 현재는 2-3으로 지고 있고, 홈으로 돌아갈 것이고, 다음 경기 이겨서 7차전 가고... 간단하자나?

Said Bryant: "The offensive part of the game kind of comes and goes. ... I just thought defensively we weren't very good at all. Last game it was the fourth quarter, this game it was the third quarter. They got layup after layup after layup. We didn't get any stops. They got layup after layup after layup, and you can't survive a team that shoots 56 percent."

공격은 잘 풀릴때도 있고 안될때도 있는거지... 수비가 개판이었어. 4차전에서는 4쿼터에, 오늘 경기에서는 3쿼터가 그랬지. 전혀 막지를 못했어. 레이업, 또 레이업, 또또 레이업.. 56% 필드골을 허용하고 승리할 순 없자나.

"I'm not very confident at all," he said, laughing.

(반어법으로 비꼬는 말투로 웃으면서) 6,7차전 이길 자신이 전혀 없는 걸. (기자들이 다 웃었답니다.ㅋㅋ)

"We have a challenge, obviously, down, 3-2," Bryant said. "We let a couple of opportunities slip away. But it is what it is.

2-3이라는 도전에 직면하고 있는 건 엄연한 사실이야. 우린 몇번의 기회를 놓치고 말았어. 하지만 이렇게 된이상 뭐 어쩌겠어.

"Now you go home. You've got two games at home that you need to win and you pull your boots up and get to work."

이제 홈으로 돌아가서 두경기를 치루게 돼. 신발끈 조여매고 다시한번 열심히 해야지.

"I've forgotten all about it," he insisted.

(코허세 작렬) 난 이미 5차전 패배는 잊어버렸어~~

<파우>

"They got hot and got too many points in the paint," said Gasol, who had his worst playoff effort in Game 5 with 12 points on five of 12 shooting and 12 revounds and constantly allowed the missed calls to distract his focus. "We allowed a couple penetrations there that shouldn't happen. They got going. We battled back as much as possible. Kobe was hitting some very tough shots and kept us in the ballgame. But we have to cut down on the points in the paint."

보수동은 슛이 대폭발했고, 페인트존 득점을 너무 많이 넣었어. 허용하지 말았어야할 돌파들을 허용했어. 그들은 쭉쭉 치고 나갔고, 우리는 가능한한 열심히 따라가려고 했어. 분코모드로 따라갔었지. 하지만 페인트존에서의 많은 득점 허용이 발목을 잡고 말았지.

<옥돔>

Odom said: "When Kobe gets hot like that, he gets hot like that. You can't deny it. We just need to get stops as a team and we weren't able to do that."

코비가 분코가 되면, 닥치고 분코모드인거야. 그걸 막을 순 없어. 그때 우린 팀으로서 상대방의 공격을 막아야 하는데 그러지 못했어.

"We just didn't get enough stops as a team," said Odom, who acknowledged he had flu-like symptoms on a night he scored eight points on four of six shooting but became a defensive liability. "This is a team that we're playing against that even though they go through lulls offensively, everybody is involved in the game because they move the basketball so well. It just allowed them to get a couple more steps than we were able to get."

(감기 기운이 있었던 옥돔) 팀으로서 충분한 수비를 보여주지 못했어. 우리는 가끔은 공격에서 소강상태를 보이기도 하지만 전반적으로 공을 잘 돌리는 팀과 싸우고 있어. 그렇게 공을 잘돌려서 우리보다 몇 발자국을 좀더 내딛은거지.

"It's not over," Odom said as he left the locker room. "It's their third win, so it's not like the trophy is theirs. They have to take it on our home court. We're ready to go home and do what we have to do on our home court."

아직 끝난거 아니자나. 저들의 3번째 승리일 뿐이야. 우승 트로피가 저들한테 수여된게 아니자나. 저들이 우승하려면 우리 홈코트에서 뺏어가야 하는거지. 우린 홈으로 돌아가 우리들이 해야만 하는 것들을 할 준비가 되어 있어.

"It was a critical time for us to get stops and run as a team and for guys to get into it," Lamar Odom, who had two of the Lakers' nine steals, said. "We just couldn't get done. Tonight was a game where if we're getting stops, we would be talking about how Kobe got into it and how everybody else kind of followed after that, but we couldn't get stops. It's always the defensive end. This is the NBA Finals. You talk about the Super Bowl, the World [Series], in baseball it's pitching and defense, defense, defense. It's always the defensive end. We have enough guys that can score and play. It's always the defense."

팀으로서 경기에 임하고 모두가 수비에 집중해야하는 중요한 시간이 왔어. 오늘 우리가 그러지 못했어. 우리가 오늘 몇번의 수비를 잘했다면, 코비가 어떻게 경기를 장악하고, 우리가 어떻게 뒷받침했는지에 대해 얘기하고 있었을꺼야. 하지만 저들을 막지 못했지. 언제나 수비라고. NBA Final 이자나. 슈퍼볼, 월드시리즈.... 모두 수비를 얘기하자나. 언제나 수비라고. 우리팀에서 득점할 수 있는 선수는 충분해. 중요한건 수비라고.

<론더퀵>

"I felt comfortable taking those," said Artest, who scored seven points on only two of nine shooting. "I'll knock those down next time."

(막판 자유투 두개 실패) 느낌 좋았는데... 다음엔 꼭 넣을꺼야.

"We could have won tonight before I missed those two free throws and didn't give a chance to let Kobe do what he do," said Artest, who only hit one of four free throw attempts in the fourth quarter. "That was a backbreaker."

내가 자유투 두개를 넣어서 코작가가 집필할 기회가 주어졌다면, 우린 이길 수 있었을꺼야. 정말 힘든 일이었어.

"Defensively, I was not consistent for the whole game," Artest said. "I don't know if Pierce hit tough shots or if I was playing bad defense. It was one of those two. I've got to change that."

수비적으로는, 경기내내 난 꾸준하지 못했지. 폴피가 터프샷을 꽂아넣은건지, 내가 수비가 나빴던 건지 모르겠어. 뭐.. 둘중 하나겠지. 다음 경기는 경기양상을 바꿔놓을께.

"No matter what it says on this stat sheet we did it together," Artest said. "We did all this together."

스탯에 어떻게 나오든간에, 오늘 우리가 한 모든 플레이는, 우리 모두가 함께 만든거야.

"I thought we played pretty well," said Artest, who had 7 points, on 2-of-9 shooting, and two rebounds. "The games that we lost here, they were close. It wasn't like a couple years ago where the game was a blowout. We played good. We played tough on the road. We played some competitive games."

우리 플레이는 괜찮았다고 봐. 패배한 경기들을 보면, 근소한 점수차였자나. 3년전에는 개발렸었다구. 우린 경기 잘했어. 원정이라 힘들었었어. 빡센 경기였었다구.

"I just got to keep on moving on," Artest said. "Good or bad, I've got to move on. I've still got a game to play."

그저 다음 경기로 나아갈 뿐이야. 좋았던 나빴던 간에, 난 다음경기를 생각할꺼야. 아직 플레이해야할 경기가 있다구.

<어린이>

"I was a little disappointed, but I'm going to be playing in Game 6," he said. "We are going to attack. We have to force a Game 7."

난 오늘 나의 플레이에 약간 실망했지만, 6차전에도 나설꺼야. 우린 공격해야 해. 7차전으로 경기를 이끌어가야만 해.

"We weren't getting stops," Bynum said. "[Bryant] went nuts, but we couldn't stop them just like the other team [couldn't stop him]. The game comes down to being able to get stops and we're not doing that."

우리가 저들을 막지 못했어. 코비는 완전 미친 코비 모드였는데, 저팀이 코비를 막지 못했던 것처럼, 우리도 저팀을 막지 못했어. 수비를 어떻게 하느냐에 따라 승패가 결정되는데, 우린 잘 못했어.

"We have to force Game 7," center Andrew Bynum said. "It's going to be very tough for them to beat us in a Game 7 on our court. We've got to get back and get ready."

7차전으로 승부를 이끌어가야만 해. 7차전 원정경기를 저들이 이긴다는 건 무지 힘들꺼야. 그러므로 우린 다시 돌아가서 준비해야해.

<닥감독>

"Bottom line is, when they won Game 3, from that point on, we felt every next game is a must win. Each game is a Game 7," Rivers said. "We said it in Game 4, we said it today, and we'll say it again. That's how we have to approach the game. We lost our wiggle room by losing [Game 3]."

기본적으로, 호수팀이 3차전을 승리한 그 시점부터, 우린 모든 경기를 'must win' 마인드로 임했다는 거야. '모든 경기가 7차전이다'라고 말야. 4차전에서도 그랬고, 오늘도 그랬고, 다음 경기에서도 그럴꺼야. 그게 우리가 경기를 임하는 방식이야.  3차전 패배이후 우리에게 여유란 없었어.

"It's amazing what that does to your team," Rivers said. "We were up, I think, 12 or 10 when he was making that run and we had to sue a timeout to settle our guys down. ... and I just tried to keep telling them, 'It's only two points each time he scores. It's not 10. It's just like if someone else was scoring.' As long as we were going to keep scoring the way we were scoring, we were going to be good."

(코비의 3쿼터 뽜이아) 그런 플레이를 펼쳤다는 것은 정말 놀라운 일이었어. 코비가 10점인가 12점이가 연속 득점했을때, 난 타임아웃을 불러 선수들을 진정시켰어. 우리 선수들에게 얘기하길, '코비가 득점할때마다 2점씩 올라가는 것 뿐이다. 10점씩 올라가는 것이 아니다. 다른 선수가 득점하는 것과 다를 바가 없다. 우리가 득점하는 방식대로 득점을 계속 올린다면, 우린 괜찮을 것이다'라고 말야.

"He's the best shot maker in the game," said Doc Rivers. "There [are] probably better athletes and all that,but there is no better shot maker than Kobe Bryant. In that [third quarter] stretch, I turned to [assistant coaches] Tibs [Tom Thibodeau] and Armond [Hill], saying 'those are tough shots. You have just got to live with it and play through it.'"

그의 득점 능력은 정말 최고야. 코비보다 운동능력이 더 뛰어난 선수는 있겠지. 하지만 코비보다 득점능력이 뛰어난 선수는 없어. 3쿼터 코비의 득점쇼를 보면서, 난 코치인 Tom Thibodeau와 Armond Hill에게 '저것들은 모두 터프샷이야. 그냥 그런가 보다 하고 경기할 수 밖에 없어'라고 말했지.

"He's a heck of a player. You've got to expect that from him.... You know, it's going to happen. Kobe is the one guy that you probably can't stop in this league, but we feel like with these other guys we can slow them down and almost shut them down and we'll give ourselves a great chance at winning."

코비는 정말 대단한 선수야. 그에게 기대하는 것들이 있지. 그리고 그런 것은 항상 일어나지. 리그에서 막을 수 없는 유일한 선수일꺼야. 하지만 다른 선수들이 있자나. 다른 선수들은 막을 수 있고, 실제로 거의 지워버렸지. 그런 것이 우리에게 승리를 가져다 줄꺼야.

<폴피>

"We scrapped, we got them in the half court for the most part, and that's the type of game we like," Paul Pierce said. "It would be tough for us to beat them if they go out and score 120 points."

우리가 발라버렸어. 하프코트 게임에서 잡아버렸어. 우린 이런 타입의 경기를 좋아하지. 다득점 경기에서 저들을 잡는건 힘들어.

“I wasn’t in a personal duel,” Pierce said. “I didn’t notice that we were going back-and-forth scoring at the time.”

코비와의 개인적인 쇼다운이 아니자나. (3쿼터에) 점수를 주거니 받거니 쇼다운하고 있다는 생각도 못했어.

“I was just showing off my Randy Moss and my (Tom) Brady the whole play,” Pierce said. “I was Randy when I caught it; then Brady on my pass to Rondo.”

(경기막판 사이드라인 근처에서 공잡아서 론도에게 패스하고 레이업) 난 Randy Moss처럼 잡아서 Tom Brady처럼 론도에게 패스했지.

“It was nothing,” Pierce said. “I told Rajon at halftime I had a couple buckets going and I wanted the ball and he wanted to do something different, and I was a little upset at that. Hey, he’s our point guard and I trust him. He’s made so many great plays for us throughout the year and throughout the playoffs. It was nothing.

(2쿼터 종료시 론도와의 말싸움) 암것도 아니야. 내가 론도에게 그때 몇골 넣었기 때문에 감이 좋아서 내게 공을 주기 원했는데 론도는 다른걸 하길 원했었나봐. 그땐 좀 기분이 나빴는데, 론도가 우리 포가자나. 난 그를 신뢰한다고. 정규시즌과 플옵때 우리를 위해 엄청난 플레이를 보여줬었자나. 암것도 아니었어.

“We’ve got spats with our team all the time. We always have spats. But the good thing about it is we always clean it up.”

언제나 팀내 말다툼은 있어. 항상 언쟁이 있지. 하지만 좋은 점은 언제나 깨끗이 해결한다는 거야.

<론도>

"I think a couple of guys maybe thought KG lost a step or something when he struggled in the first few games," Rondo said. "But he's caught his rhythm, doing intangibles on the court, scoring, rebounding, assisting, blocking shots. He's changing the game.

몇몇선수들은 KG가 스텝도 잃고 첫 몇경기에서 삽질했다고 생각했을꺼야. 하지만 그는 리듬을 되찾았고, 경기에서 궂은 일들을 해줬어. 득점하고, 리바하고, 어시하고, 블락하고.. 그가 경기를 바꿔놨어.

"That's what he's been doing for us all year. He's big for us. He may not score 27 points, 26 points. But he's happy with his role and he's doing it well."

그게 KG가 시즌내내 팀을 위해 했던 거야. 고득점을 할 수는 없어도 그는 주어진 역할을 좋아하며, 그 역할을 잘 수행하지.

"We play better on the road anyway."

우린 원정에서 경기력이 더 좋아.
