SEOUL, March 4 (Yonhap) -- Forty-one ferry sailings and four flights were canceled nationwide Tuesday, anti-disaster authorities said, amid heavy snow that has blanketed the central provinces of Chungcheong, the southeastern provinces of Gyeongsang and the northeastern province of Gangwon since the weekend.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, 41 passenger ships that travel on 30 routes, including those that link Incheon and Baengnyeong Island, and Pohang and Ulleung Island, had suspended services as of 6 a.m.

In addition, four domestic flights -- three at Seoul's Gimpo International Airport and one at Yeosu Airport -- were canceled, the agency said.
​
A heavy snow advisory has been in effect in most Gangwon, Chungcheong and Gyeongsang regions, where up to 50 centimeters of snow have fallen over the past two days. Weather forecasters say snow or rain will continue until Tuesday night in some areas of Gangwon and the east coast.

The heavy snow also led to road closures at three locations in Gangwon, one in North Chungcheong and six in North Gyeongsang, the agency noted, adding no casualties have been reported so far.

(서울=연합뉴스) 이상서 기자 = 경상·충청·강원권에 대설특보가 발효된 가운데 4일 여객선 41척과 항공기 4편이 결항했다.

이날 오전 6시 기준 중앙재난안전대책본부(중대본) 대설 대처 상황 보고에 따르면 백령∼인천, 녹동∼제주, 울릉∼포항 등 30개 항로에서 여객선 41척의 운항이 멈췄다.

항공기는 김포공항 3편과 여수공항 1편 등 모두 4편이 결항했다.

도로는 강원 3곳과 충북 1곳, 경북 6곳이 통제됐다.

설악산과 오대산 등 국립공원 10곳의 207개 탐방로도 폐쇄됐다.

소방 당국은 차량고립 구조 4건과 교통사고 구급 11건 등 모두 131건의 소방 활동을 펼쳤으며, 인명 피해는 없었다고 밝혔다.

경북 울진군과 충북 영동군에선 7세대 7명이 사전 대피했다.

시설 피해의 경우 경북과 강원에서 비닐하우스 7건, 축사 1건, 인삼재배시설 3건 등 모두 11건이 발생했다.

기상청에 따르면 현재 경상·충청·강원권 등에 대설특보가 발효됐으며, 오전에 수도권 등으로 확대될 전망이다. 강원 산지와 동해안 등 일부 지역에서는 이날 밤까지 눈이나 비가 이어지겠다.

앞서 행정안전부는 전날 오전 2시부로 중앙재난안전대책본부(중대본) 1단계를 가동하고, 대설 위기경보 수준을 '관심'에서 '주의' 단계로 올린 바 있다.
