고위공직자범죄수사처(공수처)가 김성훈 대통령 경호처 차장에 대한 경찰의 구속영장 신청을 검찰이 반려한 것과 관련해 고발된 심우정 검찰총장 사건을 수사 부서에 배당했다.

The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials(CIO) has allocated the case of Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung, who was accused of prosecuting the prosecution's rejection of the police's request for an arrest warrant for Kim Sung-hoon, deputy chief of the presidential security service, to the investigation department.

공수처는 5일 심우정 총장과 이진동 대검 차장의 직권남용·권리행사방해 및 직무유기 혐의 등 고발 사건을 수사4부(부장 차정현)에 배당했다고 밝혔다.

The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials(CIO) announced on the 5th that it has allocated accusations against Shim and Lee Jin-dong, deputy chief of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, including abuse of authority, obstruction of exercise of rights, and dereliction of duty to the 4th investigation department (Director Cha Jung-hyun).

시민단체 사법정의바로세우기시민행동은 지난달 27일 심우정 총장과 이 차장이 직권을 남용해 김 성훈 대통령 경호처 차장 및 이광우 경호본부장에 대한 경찰의 구속영장 신청을 납득하기 어려운 이유로 세 차례 반려했다며 공수처에 고발했다.

On the 27th of last month, the Civic Group Judicial Justice Action filed a complaint with the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials(CIO), claiming that Shim and Deputy Chief Lee abused their authority and rejected the police's request for arrest warrants for Deputy Chief Kim and Director Lee Kwang-woo three times for reasons that were difficult to understand.

앞서 경찰청 국가수사본부 비상계엄 특별수사단(특수단)은 김성훈 대통령 경호처 차장과 이광우 경호 본부장이 윤석열 대통령의 체포영장 집행을 방해한 혐의 등으로 서울서부지검에 구속영장을 각각 세차례와 두차례 신청했지만, 검찰은 ‘증거인멸의 우려가 없다’거나 ‘경호처 관련 규정에 대한 보완수사 필요’ 등의 이유로 번번이 구속영장 신청을 반려했다. 결국 경찰은 서울고검에 민간위원이 검찰 처분의 적절성을 따지는 영장심의위원회 개최를 요구했다. 영장심의위는 오는 6일 열릴 예정이다.

Earlier, the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters' Special Investigation Team on Emergency Security applied for arrest warrants to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office three times and twice, respectively, on charges that Deputy Chief Kim and Director Lee interfered with President Yoon Suk Yeol's execution of arrest warrants, but the prosecution repeatedly rejected the request for arrest warrants due to "no fear of destroying evidence" or "the need for a supplementary investigation into regulations related to the police department." In the end, the police demanded the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office hold a warrant review committee for civilian members to examine the appropriateness of the prosecution's disposition. The warrant review committee is scheduled to be held on the 6th.
