신명기7장 말씀입니다.

1. {주} 네 [하나님]께서 네가 가서 소유할 땅으로 너를 데려가시고 네 앞에서 여러 민족 곧 헷 족속과 기르가스 족속과 아모리 족속과 가나안 족속과 브리스 족속과 히위 족속과 여부스 족속 등 너보다 크고 강한 일곱 민족을 내쫓으실 때에

When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

2. 즉 {주} 네 [하나님]께서 그들을 네 앞에 넘겨주실 때에 너는 그들을 치고 그들을 진멸할지니라. 또한 너는 그들과

   어떤 언약도 맺지 말며 그들에게 긍휼을 보이지도 말고

And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, [and] utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

3. 또 그들과 결혼하지 말지니 네 딸을 그의 아들에게 주지 말며 네 아들을 위하여 그의 딸을 취하지 말지니라.

Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

4. 그들이 네 아들을 돌이켜서 나를 떠나게 하므로 그들이 다른 신들을 섬기리니 그러면 {주}의 분노가 너희를 향해

    타올라 갑자기 너를 멸하리라.

For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

5. 오직 너희는 그들에게 이같이 행할지니 곧 그들의 제단들을 헐며 그들의 형상들을 깨뜨리고 그들의 작은 숲들을

    찍으며 그들의 새긴 형상들을 불로 태울지니라.

But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire. 

6. 너는 {주} 네 [하나님]께 거룩한 백성이니라. {주} 네 [하나님]께서 지면 위의 모든 백성들 위로 너를 높여 자신에게

    특별한 백성으로 택하셨나니

For thou [art] an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that [are] upon the face of the earth.

7. {주}께서 너희를 친히 사랑하시고 너희를 택하신 것은 너희가 다른 백성보다 수가 많기 때문이 아니니라. 너희는

    모든 백성들 중에서 수가 가장 적으니라.

The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye [were] the fewest of all people:

8. 다만 {주}께서 너희를 사랑하셨으므로 또 너희 조상들에게 하신 맹세를 지키려 하시므로 {주}께서 자신의 강한

    손으로 너희를 데리고 나오시고 너희를 노예들의 집에서 이집트 왕 파라오의 손에서 구속하셨나니

But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

9. 그런즉 너는 {주} 네 [하나님] 그분이 [하나님]이시요, 신실한 [하나님]이신 줄 알라. 그분께서는 자신을 사랑하고

     자신의 명령을 지키는 자들에게는 천대까지 언약을 지키시며 긍휼을 베푸시되

Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he [is] God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

10. 자신을 미워하는 자들에게는 그들의 얼굴 앞에서 보복하여 그들을 멸하시나니 그분께서는 자신을 미워하는

      자에게 지체하지 아니하시고 그의 얼굴 앞에서 보복하시리라.

And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

11. 그런즉 너는 이 날 내가 네게 명령하는 명령과 법규와 법도를 지켜 행할지니라.

Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.

12. 그런즉 너희가 이 법도에 귀를 기울여 그것을 지키고 행하면 {주} 네 [하나님]께서 네 조상들에게 맹세하신 언약을

      지키시고 네게 긍휼을 베푸시리라.

Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers: 

13. 그분께서 너를 사랑하시고 네게 복을 주사 너를 번성하게 하시며 또 네게 주리라고 네 조상들에게 맹세하신 땅에서

      네 태의 열매에게 복을 주시고 네 땅의 열매와 곡식과 포도즙과 기름에 복을 주시며 네 암소의 번식과 네 양 떼에도

      복을 주시리니

And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

14. 네가 모든 백성들보다 더 많이 복을 받아 너희 가운데 남자와 여자와 너희 가축의 수컷과 암컷 중에 수태하지

      못하는 것이 없을 것이며

Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

15. 또 {주}께서 모든 병을 네게서 제거하사 네가 알고 있는 이집트의 어떤 악한 질병도 네게 두지 아니하시고 너를

      미워하는 모든 자에게 그것들을 두시리라.

And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all [them] that hate thee.

16. 너는 {주} 네 [하나님]께서 네게 넘겨줄 모든 백성들을 소멸시키되 네 눈이 그들을 불쌍히 보지 말라. 너는 그들의

      신들을 섬기지 말라. 그것이 네게 올무가 되리라.

And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that [will be] a snare unto thee.

17. 네가 만일 마음속으로 이르기를, 이 민족들이 나보다 많으니 내가 어찌 그들을 쫓아낼 수 있으리요? 하거든

If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations [are] more than I; how can I dispossess them?

18. 너는 그들을 두려워하지 말고 오직 {주} 네 [하나님]께서 파라오와 온 이집트에게 행하신 것을 잘 기억하되

Thou shalt not be afraid of them: [but] shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;

19. {주} 네 [하나님]께서 너를 데리고 나오실 때에 네 눈이 본 큰 시험들과 표적들과 이적들과 강한 손과 뻗은 팔을

      기억하라. 그와 같이 {주} 네 [하나님]께서 네가 두려워하는 모든 백성들에게 행하실 것이요,

The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.

20. 또한 {주} 네 [하나님]께서 말벌을 그들 가운데로 보내사 마침내 그들의 남은 자와 너를 피하여 숨은 자들을

      멸하시리니

Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed.

21. 너는 그들을 두려워하지 말라. {주} 네 [하나님] 곧 크고 두려운 [하나님]께서 너희 가운데 계시느니라.

Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God [is] among you, a mighty God and terrible.

22. {주} 네 [하나님]께서 그 민족들을 네 앞에서 조금씩 조금씩 쫓아내시리니 너는 그들을 한 번에 소멸시키지 말라.

      네게 들짐승이 불어날까 염려하노라.

And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee. 

23. 오직 {주} 네 [하나님]께서 그들을 네게 넘겨주시고 그들이 멸망당할 때까지 강한 파멸로 멸하시며

But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. 

24. 또 그들의 왕들을 네 손에 넘겨주시리니 너는 그들의 이름을 하늘 아래에서 끊어 멸할지니라. 네 앞에 능히 설 자가

      없으리니 마침내 네가 그들을 멸하리라.

And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.

25. 너희는 그들의 신들을 새긴 형상들을 불로 태우고 너는 그것들에 입힌 은이나 금을 탐내지 말며 취하지 말라.

      네가 그것으로 인하여 올무에 걸려들까 염려하나니 그것은 {주} 네 [하나님]께 가증한 것이니라.

The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold [that is] on them, nor take [it] unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it [is] an abomination to the LORD thy God.

26. 너는 가증한 것을 네 집에 들이지 말라. 너도 그와 같이 저주받은 것이 될까 염려하노라. 오직 너는 그것을 철저히

      미워하며 철저히 싫어할지니 그것은 저주받은 것이니라.

Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: [but] thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it [is] a cursed thing.
