A: Maybe I was going a bit over the speed limit.
B: Good morning. You were speeding.  May I see your driver's license, please?
A: Of course, Officer. Here it is./  B: Thanks. I'll have to give you a ticket for speeding.
A: Understood, Officer. I'll be more careful next time.
A: Hey, did the meeting start already? I'm so sorry I'm late./   B: Yeah, it started about 10 minutes ago.
A: Oh, shoot. Did I miss anything important?/   B: Not really, just some introductions and basic outlines.
A: I overslept because I was working late on the report last night./   B: I get it. Just come in quietly.
A: Boss, I'm really sorry I was late to the meeting.  It won't happen again.
B: Sam, I understand you had to fill in for Kelly last night. How late did you stay?
A: Until about midnight, trying to finish up her report.
B: That explains it. While punctuality is crucial, I understand why you were late today.
A: Thank you for undetstanding.  I assure you, it won't happen again.
A: I had a chat with the boss about being late to the meeting this morning./  B: Oh? What was her response?
A: Here's the interesting part - she completely understood my situation. She even thanked me for staying late to help Kelly.
B: Wow, that's a relief!/  A: Tell me about it! I'm really thankful now.
A: It's been quite a year, hasn't it?
B: Absolutely! It's been a rollercoaster.  Well, changing my career was never easy but hey, I made it anyway!
A: You're right. I'm so proud of you./  B: Thanks. So, what are you most grateful for from the past year?
A: Well, I'm most grateful for my family's health.  We all stayed safe, and that means the world to me.
 
A: I'm also really thankful for my job./  B: I know what you're saying. Having a stable job is a real blessing.
A: Well, I was so luckly to get this job. It helped me stay afloat during these tough times.
B: I remember how nervous you were back then.
A: Actually, you're also the one that I'm so grateful to. There's no way I could've made it without your support.
A: I mean it, Dan. I'm truly grateful to you for your support. You never gave up on me.
B: Why would I? I've always believed in you./ A: How lucky I am!  My friends have been my rock through thick and thin.
B: That's so sweet. Hey, if you're ever in trouble, you know you can always count on me.
A: I know, Dan. A friend in need is a friend indeed./ A: As the year comes to an end, do you have any regrets from the past year?
B: Well, I do. I regret not spending more time with my family./  A: I know you've always been swamped in work.
B: Yeah, I was so caught up with work that I missed out on quality moments.
A: Well, that makes two of us. I should definitely try harder to make time for my family.
A: I have another one. It's... not pursuing that online course I wanted.
B: Oh, you haven't started it yet?/  A: No, I kept putting it off. I was so lazy.
B: Well, it's never too late. Maybe you can still do it next year./  A: I sure hope so.
B: You know they say "a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step." Don't be too hard on yourself, Sam.
A: Hey, Lisa, do you have any regrets about the past year?
B: Yes, there's one regret that's been bothering me. I wish I had traveled more and explored new places.
A: Oh, I get that. My regret is not maintaining a healthier lifestyle. I let stress get the best of me.
B: It's never too late. Small steps can make a big difference.
