[Everyone //who accepts the teaching of St Paul] must have a belief in “sanctification”.

성 베드로의 가르침을 믿는 모든 이들은 성화를 믿어야 한다

But I should myself be very chary of describing such operations of the Holy Ghost as “experiences”

if by experiences we mean [things /necessarily discoverable by introspection]. 

그러나 나는 만약에 경험이란 것이 우리가 자기성찰로 인해 필히 발견될 일들을 의미한다면

성령 하나님의 그러한 역사들을 그런 경험들로 묘사하기를 매우 주저한다

즉 성령하나님께서 하시는 일을 누구나 경험으로 반드시 발견할 수 있는 것이라고 설명하기를 꺼린다

(중생 조차도 바람이 어디서 불어 어디로 가는지 모르는 것처럼 성사되므로 흑백으로 가리지 못한다)

* Introspection is the examination of one's own conscious thoughts and feelings.  자기성찰

* 전목 describing [such operations of the Holy Ghost] /as “experiences” 

And I should be still more chary of mapping out a series of such experiences as an indispensable norm (or syllabus!) 

for all Christians. 

그리고 나는 그런 경험들의 연속을 피치 못할 표준 (학과 개요처럼!)으로서 교안 짜기에 대해서 여전히 더 신중해야 한다

즉 성화 과정을 교과목처럼 경험에 의거하여 발견될 수 있는 순서적 단계별로 기안/교안 짜고 치는 것을 꺼려야 한다

즉 각자의 성화 과정이 서로 다르기에 일률적인 표준으로 정하여 적용하기를 꺼려야 한다

하나님께서 우리를 구원하시는 방법들이 아마도 무한정으로 다양하고

다양한 정도/수준의 자의식을 환자/영적인 병자/신자 안에 들어가게 허락한다고 생각한다

* and (I) admit varying degrees of consciousness 

* admit ; allow to enter; grant entry to, declare to be true or admit the existence or reality or truth of, afford possibility

[Anything //which sets him saying, “Now – Stage II ought soon to be coming along] – Is this it?” 

그분께서 말씀하시도록 촉발하는 어떤 것 즉 이제 제2단계가 곧 와야 한다고 말하는 그것 - 이것이 전부인가/이걸로 끝인가?

I think bad and likely to lead some to presumption and others to despair. 

나는 잘못 생각하여 어떤 이는 단정/추정/착각으로 이끌고 다른 이들은 아마 절망으로 인도할 수 있다

(성화 방식을 일률적인 교과과정으로 지정하여 일률적으로 생각하고 가르치면

어떤 신자들은 그 과정에 있다고 추정/단정케하고

그 과정에 진입하지 못했다고 생각하는 신자들은 절망에 빠뜨릴 수 있기에 아래저래 좋은 생각은 아니다)

We must leave God to dress the wound and not keep on [taking peeps /under the bandage for ourselves].

우리는 하나님께서 상처받은 사람들을 싸매시도록 가만 놔두어야 하고

우리를 위해 붙이신 반창고 밑을 들여다 훔쳐보기를  계속하면 안 된다

즉 상처 치유 같은 다른 신자의 성화가 내 경험처럼 진행되고 있는지 궁금하여 반창고를 뜯고 들여다 보면 않되는 것이

모든 신자들의 성화 과정이 내가 경험한 성화 과정과 동일할 수 없기에 봐도 모를 일이고 치유만 방해하기 때문이다
