The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on Wednesday raised its 2026 economic growth forecast for Korea to 3.7 percent, citing the country's robust exports.

경제협력개발기구(OECD)는 수요일, 한국의 견조한 수출세를 근거로 2026년 경제성장률 전망치를 3.7%로 상향 조정했다.

The Paris-based organization's latest projection marks a 1.1 percentage-point increase from the 2.6 percent forecast in its June report.

파리에 본부를 둔 이 기구의 이번 전망치는 지난 6월 보고서에서 제시했던 2.6%보다 1.1%포인트 높은 수치다.

The OECD projected Asia's No. 4 economy would grow 2.6 percent in 2027, up 0.7 percentage point from its previous forecast of 1.9 percent.

OECD는 아시아 4위 경제국인 한국이 2027년에는 2.6% 성장할 것으로 내다봤는데, 이는 기존 전망치인 1.9%에서 0.7%포인트 상향된 것이다.

"The OECD has reaffirmed Korea's strong growth momentum by raising its growth forecast by the largest margin among the Group of 20 countries," the Ministry of Finance and Economy said in a release on the report.

재정경제부는 이번 보고서 관련 보도자료를 통해 "OECD가 G20 국가 중 가장 큰 폭으로 성장률 전망치를 상향 조정함으로써 한국의 강력한 성장 모멘텀을 재확인했다"고 밝혔다.

The OECD said strong exports and rising production would drive Korea's economic growth this year, while a gradual recovery in consumption would continue next year.

OECD는 올해 한국의 경제성장을 견인하는 요인으로 강력한 수출과 생산 증가를 꼽았으며, 내년에는 소비가 점진적으로 회복세를 이어갈 것으로 전망했다.

The OECD, meanwhile, projected Korea's consumer prices would rise 3 percent in 2026 from a year earlier, up 0.4 percentage point from its previous forecast.

한편, OECD는 2026년 한국의 소비자물가 상승률을 전년 대비 3.0%로 예상했는데, 이는 기존 전망치보다 0.4%포인트 높은 수준이다.

Its inflation forecast for 2027 stood at 2.7 percent, up 0.5 percentage point from its previous projection.

2027년 물가상승률 전망치는 2.7%로, 이전 전망치 대비 0.5%포인트 상향 조정되었다.

Earlier in the day, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) raised its 2026 economic growth forecast for Korea to 3.2 percent from the 2.6 percent projected in July, citing strong exports and corporate earnings amid the artificial intelligence (AI) boom.

이에 앞서 아시아개발은행(ADB)도 인공지능(AI) 붐에 따른 수출 호조와 기업 실적 개선을 이유로 한국의 2026년 경제성장률 전망치를 지난 7월의 2.6%에서 3.2%로 상향 조정한 바 있다.

In July, the Ministry of Finance and Economy raised its 2026 growth forecast to 3 percent in its second-half economic policy report, up 1 percentage point from its previous outlook, citing the semiconductor supercycle.

7월, 재정경제부는 하반기 경제정책 보고서를 통해 반도체 슈퍼사이클을 근거로 2026년 성장률 전망치를 기존보다 1%포인트 높은 3%로 상향 조정했다.

In August, the state-run Korea Development Institute (KDI) raised its 2026 growth forecast for Korea to 3.2 percent from 2.5 percent.

8월에는 국책연구기관인 한국개발연구원(KDI)이 한국의 2026년 성장률 전망치를 기존 2.5%에서 3.2%로 높였다.
