Like Cherry Blossoms

- To a Young Friend

My young friend,

Look at the cherry blossoms,

Look when they bloom.

The flower that wants to bloom first

Holds back

Even though it wants to bloom first.

The flower that wants to bloom later

Hurries

Even though it wants to bloom later.

Look at the cherry blossoms

That all bloom together.

My young friend,

Look at the cherry blossoms

Look when they fall.

The flower that wants to fall first

Holds back

Even though it wants to fall first.

The flower that wants to fall later

Hurries

Even though it wants to fall later.

Look at the cherry blossoms

That all fall together

Blooming together and falling together

The heart of the cherry blossoms.

My young friend,

Try to understand that heart well.

Like the cherry blossoms

Like the cherry blossoms

Let us walk the rough road together.

Let us face the hardships together.

벚꽃처럼

-어린 동무에게

어린 동무야

벚꽃을 보아라

꽃 필 때 보아라

먼저 피고 싶은 꽃은

먼저 피고 싶어도 꾹 참고

나중에 피고 싶은 꽃은

나중에 피고 싶어도 서둘러

모두 함께 피는 벚꽃을 보아라

어린 동무야

벚꽃을 보아라

꽃 질 때 보아라

먼저 지고 싶은 꽃은

먼저 지고 싶어도 꾹 참고

나중에 지고 싶은 꽃은

함께 피고 함께 지는

벚꽃의 마음

어린 동무야

그 마음을 잘 헤아려 보아라
