대하34:1

역대기 저자는 바벨론에서 예루살렘으로 70년 만에 귀환한 1차 독자들에게 약속을 신실하게 성취하시는 성전과 언약이 이스라엘의 정체성이자 본질임을 조명해줍니다. 성전을 성전되게 하는 것이 왕의 책임이었습니다.  공주야! 권력이 있다고 원하는 것을 다 할 수 있는 것은 아니다. 또 권력이 바라는 것이 다 선한 일도 아니다. 특히 하나님 나라의 일에서는 더욱 그렇다. 하나님 나라가 오늘 나를 통해서 이루어지는 데 있어서 가장 중요한 것은 무엇일까?

요시야가 왕 위에 오를 때 그의 나이 고작 8세이었다. 8년은 평범한 왕으로 살았다. 그런데 16세에 인격적으로 하나님을 만났다(비로소 하나님을 찾았다). 약관의 나이에 본격적으로 개혁에 착수한다. 신앙적으로 성숙해지고 섭정을 받는데서 벗어나 점차 정치력이 자라감에 따라 하나님께서는 그를 유익하게 사용하고 계신다. 큰일을 품는 것보다 바른 방향을 바라보고 착실하게 성장해가는 것이 더 중요하다. 알려지려고 하지 말고, 이름을 떨치려고 하지 말고, 업적을 남기려고도 하지 말라.

Josiah was only eight years old when he ascended the king. He lived as an ordinary king for eight years. But at the age of 16, he personally met God (I found him). At the age of the terms and conditions, he began to reform in earnest. God is using him advantageously as he grows religiously and out of being regent, and his political power gradually grows. It is more important to look in the right direction and grow steadily than to have big things. Don't try to be known, don't try to make a name, don't try to leave an achievement.

하나님을 만나고, 그분을 그분에게 어울리게 대접하라. 유다의 개혁은 요시야 한 사람의 개혁이 아니었다. 정치인들과 백성들의 반발이 심했다면 어린 왕의 개혁은 쉽게 좌초되었을 것이다. 하지만 그의 결단에 온 백성이 참여해주었다. 우상숭배는 경배의 대상을 바꾸는 일로 명령한다고 이루어질 일이 아니다. 특히 종교지도자들이 잘 협력했고 각자 자기 자리에서 왕의 개혁이 잘 수행되도록 일사분란하게 순종해주었다. 하나님이 주신 정당한 권위에 복종하는 일은 이토록 아름다운 것이다. 요시야의 개혁은 철저한 개혁이었다.

Meet God and treat him accordingly. The reform of Judah was not just about Josiah. The young king's reform would have easily run aground if there was a strong backlash from the politicians and the people. However, all the people participated in his decision. idolatry is not something that is ordered to change the object of worship. Religious leaders, in particular, cooperated well and obeyed in perfect order to ensure that the king's reform was carried out on his own. It is beautiful to obey the legitimate authority given by God. Josiah's reform was a thorough reform.

유다와 예루살렘은 물론이고 사면 황폐한 성읍들, 더 나아가 온 이스라엘 전역에서 바알의 제단들을 헐고 태양 상들을 찍고 우상들을 빻아 가루로 만들었다. 무너지고 부정해진 채 방치되었던 성전을 수리하고 성결하게 하였다. 성전 수리비는 유다만이 아니라 문을 지키는 레위 사람들이 므낫세와 에브라임과 남아 있는 모든 이스라엘 사람들에게서 거둔 돈이다. 헐린 성전의 들보를 다시 만들었고 문지기를 세워 지키게 하였다. 참 개혁은 부수는 일과 세우는 일이 조화를 이뤄야 한다. 뒤돌아보지 않는 철저한 단절을 통해 새 창조를 가져오는 일이다. 썩고 곪은 상처를 두고 건강을 말할 수는 없는 법이다. 나는 무엇을 찾고 바라보는가?

The altars of Baal were torn down, sun statues were taken down, and idols were ground into powder throughout Judah and Jerusalem, and throughout Israel. The temple, which had been destroyed and left unclean, was repaired and consecrated. The money that the Levites who guarded the gate, not just Judah, came from Menace, Ephraim, and all the remaining Israelites. The beams of the temple were rebuilt and the gatekeepers were erected to protect them. The true reform requires harmony between breaking and establishing. It is the work of bringing about a new creation through a thorough break without looking back. You cannot talk about health with your rotting and festering wounds. What am I looking for and looking at?

온 이스라엘 땅에 있는(7e)
모든 태양 상을 찍고(7f)

예루살렘으로 돌아왔더라(7g)

예루살렘 거민들에게서(9k)

거둔 것이라(9l)

공장에게 주어(10e)

그 전을 수리하게 하되(10f)

연접하는 나무를 사며(11d)

유다 왕들이 헐어버린(11e)
전들을 위하여(11f)
들보를 만들게 하매(11g)

하나님을 만난 왕의 개혁_the reform of a king who met God

모두가 참여한 개혁_reforms involving all

미련을 두지 않는 철저한 개혁_a thorough reform without reservations

어려운 환경가운데서도 바른생활을 하였던 요시야처럼 환경을 탓하지 않는 착한 백성이 되게 하옵소서. 부모님들 때문에 속상하지만 원망대신 내 죄를 보게 하시고 다시금 무너진 성전을 일으켜 세우게 하옵소서. 가족들의 어려움을 보고만 있지 않게 하시고 속히 십시일반하게 도와주옵소서. 다시는 가족에게 가난을 되 물림 하지 않기 위해 부지런히 일하고 검소하게 살게 하옵소서.

Let us be good people who do not blame the environment like Josiah, who had a good life in the midst of difficult circumstances. I am upset by my parents, but let me see my sins instead of resentment and build up the temple that collapsed again. Don't just look at the difficulties of your family and help share the pain. Work diligently and live frugally so that you will never repeat poverty to your family again.
