sermon title : Prepare to meet Jesus who will come soon.
---------------------------------------------------------
Many of the signs of the end times prophesied in the Bible are occurring. We must prepare to meet the Lord.
However, church members who are spiritually asleep see many signs of the end times but do not realize that Jesus is coming soon.
For those who are spiritually asleep, the Lord's second coming comes like a thief.
Those who are drunk on worldly things and whose souls are asleep have no interest in the coming of Jesus.
These church members are only interested in gaining more worldly things, and will regret it forever when they go to hell.
Weeping and repenting after entering hell is too late and is a worthless repentance.
Repent in the present time. Repent before Jesus comes. Prepare to meet Jesus every day.
1 Thessalonians 5
Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you,
for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
Just as the pain of childbirth suddenly comes to a pregnant woman, one day the Lord suddenly comes and judges the world.
Jesus does not come suddenly to those who obey His words.
Those who only outwardly believe in Jesus, disobey, and do not repent will have the result of Jesus suddenly coming.
The Lord is always fair to all humans. Jesus allows everyone to see the signs of His coming.
However, those who do not believe in the Lord ignore the words and warnings of the Lord and do not receive them.
Even though the signs of the end times are urgent, they do not realize or acknowledge that the end of the world is approaching.
Church members who do not prepare to meet the Lord's time cannot avoid destruction.
Those who attend church without repentance and obedience are not preparing for the Lord's time.
Those who always repent of their sins and try to obey the word of the Lord will prepare for that time.
Currently, many pastors and church members trust and follow human doctrines more than the words of the Bible.
But human doctrine does not teach repentance and obedience. There are many church members like this, and they are not preparing for the coming of the Lord.
We must repent of our sins based on the Word of God. Always repenting of your mistakes and shortcomings is how you prepare to go to heaven.
Let go of words and actions that are contrary to God’s will.
Those who are not careful like this cannot avoid the judgment of the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5
But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.
When we repent and obey, we are in the light, and the Lord does not come to us like a thief.
Those who sin and do not repent are in darkness, under the power of the devil.
To those who are in sin, the Lord comes like a thief and judges them.
Our soul must always be awake. Awake souls are those who communicate with the Lord.
The awakened soul believes that the Creator is the only savior, and believes and obeys the words of the savior.
They do not serve idols, do not say evil things or do evil things, do not harm others, and forgive others' faults. Always be humble, help those who are weaker than you.
Those who obey the Lord realize their shortcomings, so they always repent.
They are spiritually awake, know when the Lord comes, and prepare to meet the Lord.
The more signs of the end times are shown, the more obedient and repentant they become.
We are sons of light and belong to the day. We must never enter the world of darkness. Light means living righteously. Darkness means living evilly.
Those who belong to the day are those who repent, and those who belong to the darkness are those who do not repent.
We must believe in one God until the end, keep His word, and repent of our mistakes.
If we stop living a life of repentance and obedience, our souls will be immersed in the darkness of sin.
John 1:3-5
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.In him was life, and that life was the light of men.The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
When Jesus came into the world, light shone in the darkness, but the darkness did not realize it.
The Creator God himself came to the world in the flesh to save the world, and he was born into the world as a baby. The name of God who came into the world is Jesus.
Jesus preached the life-saving gospel. However, few people accepted the gospel and repented.
Many people still have the Bible. The words of the Bible are the light of life and save us, But there are many who do not accept the truth, as there were then.
Only those who accept the words of the Bible will be saved. Accepting the word of God means repenting and obeying the word of the Lord.
However, most church members now follow man-made doctrines and do not like to follow the words of the Bible. The reason is because human doctrines are easier than the Bible.
The Bible urges us to repent of our sins. However, most church members do not want to be rebuked for their sins. These people are not preparing for the coming of the Lord.
Church members who do not want to be rebuked for their sins are those who do not want to go to heaven.
Church members who prefer darkness to light belong to Satan. When the Lord returns , those who belong to Satan will be judged by the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5:7-8
For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.
But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
He who lives in sin has his soul asleep. Church members whose souls are asleep must wake up. If their souls are not awakened, they cannot be saved.
Those who want to continue to be in the dark should rather live among the people of the world. What must we do to keep our souls from falling asleep?
We must attach the breastplate of faith and love to our hearts and wear the helmet of salvation.
Keep your forgiving heart to the end. That is the breastplate of love.
Do not be swayed by worldly knowledge, but acknowledge the Bible as the path to salvation until the end. That is the helmet of salvation.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-10
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
When a child of God falls into a spiritual sleep, God disciplines him to wake him up. We should be grateful for the discipline.
This is because the discipline brings us from the path of destruction back to the path of life.
When you are disciplined, do not think that God is trying to kill you; it is to save you from God’s wrath.
The Lord is always with those who repent and obey. Whether we are on this earth or in heaven, the Lord is always with us.
1 Thessalonians 5:11-13
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you.Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.
Church members should encourage one another.
And believers must be kind to the Lord's servants who lead them according to the Lord's will.
When a pastor teaches and leads according to God's will, a church member who does not follow God's will hurts the pastor's heart very much.
Doing so is not beneficial to the church members.
Not receiving guidance from a pastor ultimately means not receiving guidance from God.
The pastor's heart breaks when disobedient church members receive severe discipline from God.
Saints must carefully follow the pastor's instructions to lead them to the path of life.
In order for everyone to go to heaven, the hearts of pastors and believers must become one. When everyone obeys the will of the Lord, all church members become one.
When church members obey, the hearts of the Lord's servants are at ease, and God's heart is at ease. The result is blessing and heaven for all.
