I

The teacher was checking homework
Chadol never did homework

I won’t let this happen today
You must take punishment, no delay

Chadol rubbed his hands together tight

Please don’t make me do it, I’m in fright

There are plenty of bees at my house
Teacher, Teacher, please — have mercy on me !

Chadol, how can there be bees at your house?

My father raises them

Chadol, take the punishment today, not the bees
Oh teacher, teacher, I’m begging you — please

Teacher, teacher, I promise, you’ll see
I’ll surely do my homework, just wait for me

But bees, oh bees, I cannot agree
I hate every single bee

Honeybees
Ground bees
Wasps
Queen bees
Bumblebees

I hate them all, each buzzing thing.

The Teacher checking his homework says,
To Chadol not willing to do his homework
To be sure, You’ll get punished today,

Rubbing his hands eagerly, Chadol says,
Lots of bees at home so
Sir, sir, Can you punish me by something else, please?

Chadol, how come so many bees in your home?
My father keeps bees
Chadol, What I mean is punishment, not bees

You should get punished today!

Sir, sir, I promise I’ll do my homework next time.
For any kinds of bees or punishment, I don’t like all bees.
honey BEES, bumble BEES, wasp BEES, queen BEES, pumpkin BEES,

Each and every one of bees or punishment !!!

늘 숙제해 오지 않는 차돌이에게

오늘은 안 되겠다 벌 받아야겠다고 하자,

차돌이 두 손 싹싹 비비며

벌은 우리 집에도 많으니

선생님, 선생님, 제발 다른 것 주시면 안 되나요?

차돌아, 벌이 어떻게 너희 집에 많으냐?

우리 아버지가 벌을 키우시거든요

차돌아, 벌 말고 오늘은 벌 받으란 말이다!

선생님, 선생님 다음부터는 숙제 꼭 해올게요

저는 벌이란 벌은 몽땅 싫어요

꿀벌 땅벌 말벌 여왕벌 호박벌 모조리 싫단 말이에요
