8) 죽기 전에 해야 할 것

⑥ 공적 일을 하라 - 3

자, 그러면 여러분은 사적인 탕감을 위해서 자기 일생을 투입하겠습니까? 아니면 공적인 탕감을 위해서 자기 일생을 투입하겠습니까? 일생을 투입하기는 마찬가지인데 어때요?

공적인 탕감을 위하여 공적인 환경에 일생을 투입하겠다고 생명을 걸고 나서는 사람은 위대한 인물이 아닐 수 없습니다. 그러한 무리들로 말미암아 새로운 역사는 창건될 것입니다.

그러면 그러한 순간을 앞에 놓고 있는 우리는 남아진 때를 어떻게 메울 것이냐? 이것이 이제부터 여러분이 가야 할 시련노정입니다. 그래서 자체의 생활을 해 나가는 데에 있어서 개인적인 생활을 하느냐, 공적인 생활을 하느냐 하는 것이 문제가 되는 거예요.

자기 자신의 생활에서 내가 무엇을 먹고 입고 사고 팔고 하는 모든 것이 누구를 위한 것이냐? 나를 위한 것이냐, 하나님을 위한 것이냐?

또, 문제가 되는 것은 그것이 공적인 생활이냐 사적인 생활이냐 하는 것입니다. 그리고 여러분의 감정이 사적인 감정이냐 공적인 감정이냐 하는 것도 문제가 된다는 것입니다.

공적인 길을 가기 위해 맹세할 수 있는 자리를 찾아 나가야 되지 않겠습니까? 역사를 탕감시켜야 할 사명을 짊어진 사람이면 누구나 소원하는 자리까지 나아가야 됩니다.

그런고로 생활 속에서 사적인 감정을 초월하여 공적인 감정을 어떻게 체득하느냐 하는 문제가 신앙자가 중요시해야 할 문제라는 것을 알아야 됩니다.

죄라는 것은 무엇이냐? 죄는 사적인 곳에서 생겨나는 것입니다. 망하는 것도 사적인 기준에서 벌어지는 것입니다. 악도 마찬가지입니다. 사적인 것이 도수를 넘게 되면 악으로 나타나는 것입니다. 사적인 것에는 한계가 있는데 그 한계를 넘으면 악하게 되고, 망하게 되고, 죄를 짓게 되는 것입니다.

그러면 영원히 선할 수 있고, 영원히 흥할 수 있고, 영원히 복받을 수 있는 자리가 어디냐? 망하는 것을 피할 수 있는 자리, 죄 되는 것을 피할 수 있는 자리, 악해지는 것을 피할 수 있는 자리가 어디냐? 그것은 바로 공적인 자리입니다.

밥을 먹어도 공적인 자리에서 먹어야 합니다. 일을 해도 공적인 일로, 말을 해도 공적인 말로 소화해야 됩니다. 이처럼 일체를 공적인 것과 연관지어 살아야 합니다. 그런 사람은 지옥에 갈래야 갈수 없는 것입니다. (31-164)

8) 死ぬ前にすべき事

⑥ 公的な仕事をせよ - 3

では皆さんは、私的な蕩減の為に自分の一生を投入しますか。そうでなければ、公的な蕩減の為に自分の一生を投入しますか。

一生を投入するのは同じですが、公的な蕩減の為に公的な環境に一生を投入すると生命を懸けて立ち上がる人は、偉大な人物に成るのです。その様な群れによって、新しい歴史は創建されるでしょう。

では、その様な主管を前にしている我々は、残った時をどの様に埋めればいいのでしょうか。これが今から皆さんが行くべき試練の路程です。

それで、自体の生活で、個人的な生活をするのか、公的な生活をするのかという事が問題になります。自分自身の生活で、自分が何を食べて、何を買って売ってという全てが、誰の為のものでしょうか。自分の為のものでしょうか、神様の為のものでしょうか。

また、問題に成るのは、それが公的な生活か、私的な生活かという事です。そして、皆さんの感情が私的な感情か、公的な感情かという事も問題に成るのです。

公的な道を行く為に誓うべきです。歴史を蕩減させるべき使命を負った人なら、誰でも願う立場迄進まなければなりません。それ故に、生活の中で私的な感情を超越して、公的な感情をどの様に体得するかという問題が、信仰者が重要視すべき問題です。

罪とは何でしょうか。罪は、私的な所で生まれるのです。滅びるのも、私的な基準で繰り広げられるのです。悪も同様です。

私的な事が度数を超える様になれば、悪として現れるのです。私的な事には限界があり、その限界を超えれば、悪くなり、滅びる様になり、罪を犯す様に成るのです。

では、永遠に善であり得、永遠に繁栄する事ができ、永遠に福を受ける事が出来る立場とはどこでしょうか。滅びる事を避け得る立場、罪と成る事を避け得る立場、悪く成る事を避け得る立場とはどこでしょうか。

それは、正に公的な立場です。御飯を食べても、公的な立場で食べなければなりません。仕事をしても、公的な仕事で、言葉を話しても公的な言葉で消化しなければなりません。

この様に、一切を公的な事と関連づけて暮らさなければなりません。その様な人は、地獄に行こうとしても行く事が出来ないのです。（三一―一六四）

8) Things That Must Be Done Before Death

⑥ Work for the Public - 3

Now, do you want to devote entire your life to indemnifying private matters? Or do you want to devote your life for the purpose of indemnifying public matters? These two kinds of life are both devoted to some purpose.

What do you want to do? The one who stands up at the risk of his life to devote his entire life for public matters and public indemnity must be a great person. A new history will be created by a group of people like this. 

Now we stand before the question of how to control one's life. Facing this question, how shall we spend the rest of our lives? This is the challenge of the course of your life.

When you manage your life, the issue is whether you live an individualistic life or a public life. This is the question. In your everyday life, when you eat, buy, sell, and do other things, the issue is for what you do all these activities, that is, for whom do you do them.

Do you do all these activities for the sake of yourself or for the sake of God? This is the problem. And another issue is whether you have a private feeling or a public feeling in doing all these activities. Your feeling is another issue. 

Shouldn't we pursue the position in which we can pledge to go the public path? Anyone who has the mission to indemnify history must advance to the stage that everyone hopes and wishes for.

Therefore, in the course of everyday life, how to transcend private feelings and embody public feelings is the important issue that all people of faith must concern themselves with. You should know this and keep it in mind. 

What is sin? Sin arises from the private place. Perishing also takes place on the private level. Evil is the same. When private matters are pursued beyond a certain standard, this situation appears evil.

Private matters have a certain limit. When they go beyond the limit, they appear evil. The one who pursues them comes to commit sins and perish. 

Now, then, what is the position that can be eternally good and eternally prosperous, that can receive blessing and good fortune eternally? 

Where is the position that can avoid peril, avoid sins, and avoid becoming evil? It is the public position. When you eat, you must eat in the public position. When you work, you must manage with the public position.

When you speak, you must digest the situation with public words. In this way, you must live your life connecting all aspects of your life with public matters. The person who lives this way cannot go to hell even if he tries to. (31:164)
