Love that Obeys the Truth of the Holy Spirit is true Faith

성경말씀: 디도서 1~3장

Scripture Reading: Titus 1~3

본문에서 “하나님의 종이며 예수 그리스도의 사도인 나 바울은 하나님이 택하신 자들을 믿음과 경건으로 인도하는 진리의 지식을 위하며, 영생의 소망에 근거한 믿음과 지식을 전하였으니 이 영생은 거짓이 없으신 하나님께서 창조 이전에 약속하셨고, 우리 구주 하나님께서 정하신 때에 내게 맡기신 그의 명령에 따른 전도를 통해 그의 말씀을 밝히 드러내셨음이라. 우리와 같은 믿음으로 나의 참 아들 된 디도에게 하나님 아버지와 우리 구주 예수 그리스도의 은혜와 평강이 있기를 원하노라(1:1-4)” 하였듯, 그리스도의 대속과 구원을 예비하신 하나님의 뜻대로 가르치는 성령의 진리를 따라 지키는 믿음과 사랑으로 복음의 진리를 전하고 증거해야 올바른 믿음입니다.

For the right faith is to preach and testify to the truth of the gospel with faith and love that obeys and follows the truth of the Holy Spirit, which teaches according to the will of God who prepared the atonement and salvation of Christ, as “Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness, in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not he, promised before the beginning of time. And which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior. To Titus, my true son in our common faith. Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. (1:1-4)”

그러므로, “내가 너를 그레데에 남겨 둔 것은 내가 명한 대로 각 성에 장로들을 세우며 남은 일을 정리하게 하려 함이라. 장로는 흠이 없고 한 아내의 남편이며 자녀들도 믿으며 방탕하거나 불순종한다는 비난을 받지 않아야 하리라. 감독은 하나님의 청지기이므로 흠이 없고 거만하지 아니하며 성급하지 않고 술을 즐기지 아니하며 포악하지 않고 더러운 이익을 탐하지 아니하며, 오히려 나그네를 선대하며 선행을 사랑하며 신중하고 의로우며 거룩하고 절제하며, 신실한 말씀을 굳게 잡고 따라 지키며 올바른 교훈으로 권면하고 거역하는 자들을 반박할 수 있어야 하리라(1:5-9)” 하였듯, 각 교회의 지도자는 사회에서도 인정과 존경을 받는 믿음의 사람으로 세워야 합니다.

Therefore, the leaders or workers of the church must be established as righteous people of faith who are recognized and respected in society, as “The season I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you. An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless, not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. (1:5-9)”

왜냐하면, “반항하고 떠들며 속이는 자가 특히 할례파에 많으니, 부정한 이익을 얻으려고 가르쳐서는 안될 것들을 가르치며 가정들을 파괴하는 그들의 입을 막으라. 그레데인들은 항상 거짓말하는 악한 짐승과 게으른 대식가라 그들의 선지자가 말하였으니, 그 증언이 참되므로 네가 그들을 엄격하게 꾸짖어 그들을 믿음 안에 온전하게 세우라. 유대인의 헛된 신화나 진리를 배척하는 자들의 그릇된 계명에 관심을 두지 않게 하라. 깨끗한 자들에게는 모든 것이 깨끗하나 더럽고 믿지 않는 자들은 마음과 양심이 타락하여 아무 것도 깨끗하지 아니함이라. 그들이 하나님을 시인하나 행위로는 부정하니 가증하며 복종하지 않고 선한 일에 합당하지 아니함이라(1:10-16)” 하였듯, 자신이 받았거나 얻었다 생각하는 언약이나 은혜에 치우치고 현혹되면 복음의 진리를 거역하고 대적하는 그릇된 믿음에 빠지기 때문입니다.

Because, if anyone who are inclined or deceived by the covenant or grace he have received or think he have obtained, he will fall into false beliefs and sins that oppose and disobeys the truth of the gospel, as “For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group. They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach, and that for the sake of dishonest gain. One of Crete’s own prophets has said it, Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons. This saying is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith, and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth. To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim top know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. (1:10-16)”

그러므로, “반드시 건전한 교리에 합당하게 가르치라. 노인들은 온유하여 존경을 받도록 절제하는 믿음과 사랑과 인내로 온전하게 가르치고, 늙은 여자들은 경건하며 헐뜯거나 술을 탐하지 않고 선행하는 삶을 살며, 그들이 젊은 여자들을 가르치게 하되 남편과 자녀를 사랑하며, 절제하며 순수하고 집안 일을 부지런히 하며 남편에게 복종하여 하나님의 말씀이 비방을 받지 않게 하라. 젊은 남자들도 절제하도록 격려하라(2:1-6)” 하였듯, 각 사람의 상황과 지위에 알맞고 합당한 가르침으로 스스로 절제하며 선하고 의로운 삶으로 본을 보이며 복음의 진리가 비방을 받지 않게 해야 올바른 믿음이란 뜻입니다.

Therefore, it means that one must have the right faith by self-restraint, by teaching appropriate and proper lessons for each situation and position, by leading a good and righteous life as an example, and by preventing the truth of the gospel from being slandered, as “You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husband and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. (2:1-6)”

왜냐하면, “너의 가르침이 얼마나 진실하고 정직한지 그들이 모든 선한 일에 본보기가 되어 나타내고, 건전한 말을 하게 하여 우리를 대적하는 자들이 악하다 비난할 것이 없어 부끄러움을 당하게 하라. 종들은 주인들에게 범사에 복종하며 주인의 기쁨이 되도록 노력하고 말대답을 하지 말고, 주인의 것을 훔치지 말고 주인이 완전히 신뢰하게 하여 범사에 우리 구주 하나님의 교훈에 마음이 끌리게 하라(2:7=10)” 하였듯, 복음의 진리를 따라 지키는 선하고 의로운 삶으로만 비방하고 헐뜯던 자들이 부끄러움을 느끼고 깨닫아 회개하며 믿음의 길로 나오게 되기 때문입니다.

Because, those who slander and criticize only those who live good and righteous lives according to the truth of the gospel will feel ashamed, realize their true nature, repent and come to the path of faith, as “In everything set them an example by doing what is good in your teaching show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us. Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way that will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive. (2:7-10)”

그러나 “구원을 가져오는 하나님의 은혜가 모든 사람에게 나타났으니, 우리에게 경건하지 않은 세상 정욕을 다 버리고 절제하며 의롭고 경건한 삶을 가르치며, 우리의 복스러운 소망 위대하신 하나님과 구주 예수 그리스도의 영광이 나타나기를 기다리게 하셨음이라. 그리스도께서 우리를 깨끗하게 하여 열심히 선행하는 자기 백성이 되게 하시려고 우리를 위하여 자신을 주시고 모든 불의에서 우리를 구속하셨음이라. 모든 권위로 책망하고 권면하며 그런 것들을 가르쳐 아무도 멸시하지 못하게 하라(2:11-15)” 하였듯, 우리의 믿음이나 선행이나 구원이 모두 다 소망을 주시고 시행할 힘과 능력을 주시며 사용하고 이루시는 하나님의 은혜라는 사실을 잊지 않아야 겸손하게 맡기고 순종하는 믿음을 지키고 구원을 얻습니다.

However, we must humbly entrust and keep and obedient faith to God, and we must not forget that our faith, good deeds and salvation are all the grace of God Immanuel, who gives us hope, keeps us, gives us strength and ability to carry it out, and uses and accomplishes it, we must do this to be saved, as “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people, It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you. (2:11-15)”

그러므로, “통치자들과 권세자들에게 순종하고 복종하며 모든 선행에 준비된 심령이 되게 모든 사람들을 일깨우라. 아무도 비방하지 말고 다투지 말고 모든 사람과 신중하게 화평하며 겸손을 나타내라. 우리도 전에는 어리석게 순종하지 않고 여러 가지 정욕과 향락에 속아 종 노릇하며 악독한 투기로 서로 미워하였으나, 우리 구주 하나님의 자비와 사랑을 나타내셨으니, 우리가 행하는 의로운 행위로 하지 않고 오직 그의 긍휼하심을 따라 성령으로 씻어 새롭게 하시고 거듭나게 하심으로 우리를 구원하셨으니, 구주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우리에게 풍성하게 부으셨음이라(3:1-6)” 하였듯, 통치권력을 존중하고 협력하며 복음의 진리와 사랑으로 모든 사람을 섬기며 임마누엘 하나님 성령을 따라 선하고 의로운 삶으로 사람들의 양심을 일깨우며 예수 그리스도의 구원으로 인도해야 올바른 믿음입니다.

Therefore, it is the right faith to respect and cooperate with the ruling power, serve all people with the truth and love of the gospel, awaken people’s consciences with good and righteous lives following the Holy Spirit of God Immanuel, and lead them to the salvation in Jesus Christ, as “Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We live in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior. (3:1-6)”

그러므로 “그 은혜를 힘입어 우리가 의롭다 하심을 얻어 영생의 소망을 가진 상속자가 되게 하셨음이라. 신실한 이 말씀을 네가 강조하며 하나님을 믿는 자들이 선한 일에 힘쓰게 하여 모든 사람에게 덕이 되고 유익하게 하려 함이라. 그러나 무익하고 헛되며 어리석은 족보와 율법에 대한 논쟁과 다툼을 피하라. 분쟁을 일으키는 사람은 한두 번 훈계하고 멀리하라. 그런 사람은 죄악에 기울어진 마음으로 스스로 정죄함이라. 가능한 빨리 아데마나 두기고를 네게 보내리니 내가 겨울을 지내기로 작정한 니고볼리로 네가 급히 오라. 율법사 세나와 아볼로의 여정에 필요한 모든 것을 네 힘을 다하여 도우라. 우리의 사람들에게 헛된 삶을 살지 말고 생필품을 마련하라 명하여 선행에 헌신하는 법을 배우게 하라(3:7-14)” 하였듯, 족보나 율법이나 절기에 따른 논쟁을 멀리하고, 임마누엘 하나님 성령의 은혜와 사랑과 능력에 의지하여 값없이 나누고 베풀며 섬기는 선하고 의로운 믿음이 돼야 합니다. 성도 여러분 모두모두 임마누엘 하나님 성령의 진리와 사랑과 능력에 자신을 맡기고 순종하는 올바른 믿음으로 대속과 구원을 얻기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

Therefore, we must avoid discussions about genealogy, laws and holydays, and instead, rely on the grace, love and power of the Holy Spirit of God Immanuel, and have a good and righteous faith that freely shares, gives and serves, as “So that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful, they are self-condemned. As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there. Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way and see that they have everything they need. Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives. (3:7-14)” Dear saints, I pray earnestly in the name of Jesus Christ that you may receive redemption and salvation through the right faith of entrusting yourself to the truth, love and power of the Holy Spirit of God Immanuel, and obeying Him until death. Amen.
