<p>In verse 16, Paul says, "Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience."  In other words, Jesus showed an example of patience - an example of faithfulness when believing in God.</p><p> </p><p>We, too, must set an example for others.  Paul followed Jesus who set an example, then also showed an example to Timothy.</p><p> </p><p>We are to set an example of faith in every way.  In particular, the holy people of God and those who have received the office must set an example because of the great grace we have received from God.</p><p> </p><p>And to show an example is not to show a fragmentary image, but to show a pattern of faithfulness.  Please try to show patterns of faith in your home, in church, and at your workplace.  Even if it's not perfect, try to do it nonetheless.</p><p> </p><p><i>Excerpt from Pastor Lee’s sermon on Feb 4, 2022.</i></p><p><i>1 Timothy (1:12-20)</i></p>
