Typhon is maybe the toughest fight the first time you fight him, he a few nasty attacks and mechanics. Your level should be fine, mostly you need to worry about bulking up certain resists and watching out for some instant kill mechanics.
Get your fire, lightning and vitality resist up to acceptable levels. Typhon will use fire breath from mid-short range, an easy to dodge lightning attack from long range and a vitality attack that heals him.
Vitality resist is fairly rare on gear. I'd recommend either vendor farming for a Hallowed prefix helm (40-60% vit resit + 1 skill) or farm for completed Demons' Blood charms (demons type enemies can drop them), the charm can be socketed into accessories (ring/necklace).
If you can fight from range then you should be able to kite him and dodge lightning attacks. From close range you'll want to have good fire resist as the breath can't really be dodged well. Try swap something in where possible that has right resists if you're lacking them.
Also, he sometimes casts a reflection effect. If you attack him while it's up your will die very quickly. When it's active Typhon will have a different appearance (thorns on his body). Make sure you pay attention to that.
Don't try to tank the meteors. Avoid them. He summons them when he raises his hands. Good time to hit him unless he has thorn reflection up.
You can try vendor farming mage vendor for a Sky's Rage scroll. This one should summon cloud that can help stun Typhon (unless I got the scroll name mixed up). You can also try some of the summon scrolls.
Don't forget to make use of some of the shrines. Battle is best, followed by Mastery.
---------------
Simpler?
Get fire, lightning and vitality resist up.
Don't hit him when he is covered in thorns.
Don't stand where the big red meteor rocks are landing.
Hit him until he dies.
Vendor farming = check vendor, exit to main menu, restart, check vendor, rinse and repeat.
Pretty boring so I don't usually do this. Farming for the scrolls should not take long through, you can just check each magic vendor (teleport to each waypoint with a vendor selling scrolls) for Sky's Rage or summon (think there's one with Harpies).
Hallowed helms are kind of rare so probably faster to farm for Demon's Blood instead. Easiest way to get the vitality resist you need. Last boss in Act 4 does tons of vitality damage so you're going to need it there anyways. Vitality resist is used for Typhon's Life drain upfront damage, this heals him so if you don't have any resist he'll keep healing up. This drain is possible to avoid somewhat as it doesn't work from long range but tricky to avoid.
If you're short on cash, just go to Babylon outskirts waypoint and clear the quest lizardmen mobs. Quest mobs have better chance to drop greens and MIs so just clear the camp and sell all the drops (including yellows) and you should quickly restock your gold supply.
Yeah, Typhon is kind of infamous for being capable of instant deleting pets with his breath attack lol.
--------------
Just to add one thing, Typhon uses vitality dmg, when he seems sucking/breathing your health. Check your vitality resistance. If its below 50% or even negative, its can cause instant death. There are relics that increase vitality resist. google titan quest database for detail of equipment and relic that give you specific resistance and where to farm them.
---------------
Spent half a million on undoing skills so I could get that golem to distract him - and when he was busy for 5 seconds (thats all it takes for him to annihilate it) I would get behind him and hack away at him. I died probably more than 30 times doing this.
---------------
What melee build you playing? Single pet against Typhon is not worth the points.
Hallowed Helm is easily bought/ found if you go to Chang'an merchant, check his stock and then portal to Zhidan check his stock,if none portal back to Chang'an (stock should have changed) just keep going till find one. Longest its ever took me is about 30 minutes (boring but needed). If stock not changing each time you need to exit to menu and go back in.
At the same time check for Scroll of Skies Rage - this Scroll not only has the chance to stun but will take about one third of his health. Only ever needed 1 scroll but get 2 just in case.
As advice above about missing certain attacks and getting fire resist up.
As soon as get to arena, turn left, hit the first 3 shrines then lay down the scroll next to him.
If it stuns him (happens sometimes) just start pounding him for a few seconds.
Attack him when he does his fire attack or his rock fall is going to miss you, just watch the shadows.
I can see you have Earth so must have a point or more into Stone Form (get out of danger free card) just in case get caught somehow and need a few seconds to regroup.
You can always run out of the arena a little , wait then go back. Typhon does not regenerate health.
The whole of Wusao mountain upto and including Typhon to me is still the hardest part of the game, due to this was the original end game boss, so they made it tough.
------------------
You can equip gear which boosts the resistance you require. Yellow / Green / MIs can be buffed by charms / relics. Resistances are very important in TQ especially at this point, having the right resistances will really help negate incoming damage letting you survive hits.
FYI, you can get Lightning resist from Jade Emperor's Serenity relic, Fire resist Domain of the Dragon-Kings and Vitality resist from Demon's Blood charm.
Presumably you have tons of charms / relics stored up you can use then? I mean, there's no re-run the entire campaign with your leveled char as you would get terrible or no exp from killing low level enemies and drops would be kind of underleveled compared to what you could get in Act 3. Largely only artifacts, charms and relics or maybe some good MIs would be worth farming early game.
Would make more sense to farm act 3 for good greens / MIs and bosses for some loot. Third act Telkine should drop decent loot if you can farm him okay.
Typhon was the original boss of the campaign (original game had 3 acts), they wanted to make him a big challenge due to being final boss at the time I think.
Typhon isn't really a level check, grinding levels will at best just give you more attributes and skill points. So maybe you'd get a few more stats or a new skill at best. Typhon is more of a resist / skill check. If you don't have good resists he can kill you quickly and heal back up to full if you have no vitality resist. If you attack with a weapon while he has thorns up you will always die. If you have stand under the meteors he'll 1KO you.
Typhon is easier on your second run when you understand the mechanics and how to min/max your defenses well.
-----------------
And yes, he's a hard boss. He was the final boss in the base game so yes, he ain't going to be easy. That said I'd never try and tackle him melee. All my melee characters will use a bow and just fire off a couple of shots, retreat down the ramp to avoid meteors, etc, run back up and fire off another couple of shots, retreat down the ramp, rinse and repeat until he's downed.
I can sympathise though. It took me a while to learn how to deal with him. The first time I did finally manage to kill him I literally danced around the room I was so chuffed I finally managed it.

I have had 3 other characters beat Typhon. My first, my first attempt (Electrical burn Ritualist) failed - not enough Vitality resistance or high enough DOT. Came back with higher Vitality resistance, and kited continuously while using ranged DOT damage. That took about 10 minutes Try to keep out of range of his vitality attack. Another character I used was a pet conjuror, but I recast him as a ranged volcanic orb lobber just for Typhon, and I started him in Act 5, so no Normal play against Typhon. That took 5 - 10 minutes. The other character, I used a bow-ranged hunter with high vitality resists. I kept her out of range as best I could from that vitality attack (and avoid his lightning and poison attacks. Bows are great for their long range. That took about 5 minutes.
