Good evening everyone.  The Old Testament reading for Sunday worship service will be Psalm 119:65-72 and the New Testament reading will be 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.  My sermon text will be Romans 7.  The English vocabulary related to Romans 7 is as follows: temporary, permanent, abolish, bind/binding/bound, released, adulteress, passions, covet/coveteousness, seize/seizing, deceived, captive, waging war, wretched and pitiful.

신약성경 낭독은 고린도후서 5:17-21이 될 예정이다.

나의 설교 본문은 로마서 7장이 될 것이다.

65. ○여호와여 주의 말씀대로 주의 종을 선대하셨나이다

Do good to your servant

according to your word, LORD.

66. 내가 주의 계명들을 믿었사오니 좋은 명철과 지식을 내게 가르치소서

Teach me knowledge and good judgment,

for I trust your commands.

67. 고난 당하기 전에는 내가 그릇 행하였더니 이제는 주의 말씀을 지키나이다

Before I was afflicted I went astray,

but now I obey your word.

68. 주는 선하사 선을 행하시오니 주의 율례들로 나를 가르치소서

You are good, and what you do is good;

teach me your decrees.

69. 교만한 자들이 거짓을 지어 나를 치려 하였사오나 나는 전심으로 주의 법도들을 지키리이다

Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,

I keep your precepts with all my heart.

70. 그들의 마음은 살져서 기름덩이 같으나 나는 주의 법을 즐거워하나이다

Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,

but I delight in your law.

71. 고난 당한 것이 내게 유익이라 이로 말미암아 내가 주의 율례들을 배우게 되었나이다

It was good for me to be afflicted

so that I might learn your decrees.

72. 주의 입의 법이 내게는 천천 금은보다 좋으니이다

The law from your mouth is more precious to me

than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

고린도후서 5장 

2 Corinthians 5

17. 그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

18. 모든 것이 하나님께로서 났으며 그가 그리스도로 말미암아 우리를 자기와 화목하게 하시고 또 우리에게 화목하게 하는 직분을 주셨으니

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

19. 곧 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라

that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting peopleʼs sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

20. ○그러므로 우리가 그리스도를 대신하여 사신이 되어 하나님이 우리를 통하여 너희를 권면하시는 것 같이 그리스도를 대신하여 간청하노니 너희는 하나님과 화목하라

We are therefore Christʼs ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christʼs behalf: Be reconciled to God.

21. 하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

로마서 7장

 Romans 7

1. 형제들아 내가 법 아는 자들에게 말하노니 너희는 그 법이 사람이 살 동안만 그를 주관하는 줄 알지 못하느냐

Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives?

2. 남편 있는 여인이 그 남편 생전에는 법으로 그에게 매인 바 되나 만일 그 남편이 죽으면 남편의 법에서 벗어나느니라

For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him.

3. 그러므로 만일 그 남편 생전에 다른 남자에게 가면 음녀라 그러나 만일 남편이 죽으면 그 법에서 자유롭게 되나니 다른 남자에게 갈지라도 음녀가 되지 아니하느니라

So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.

4. 그러므로 내 형제들아 너희도 그리스도의 몸으로 말미암아 율법에 대하여 죽임을 당하였으니 이는 다른 이 곧 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나신 이에게 가서 우리가 하나님을 위하여 열매를 맺게 하려 함이라

So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

5. 우리가 육신에 있을 때에는 율법으로 말미암는 죄의 정욕이 우리 지체 중에 역사하여 우리로 사망을 위하여 열매를 맺게 하였더니

For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death.

6. 이제는 우리가 얽매였던 것에 대하여 죽었으므로 율법에서 벗어났으니 이러므로 우리가 영의 새로운 것으로 섬길 것이요 율법 조문의 묵은 것으로 아니할지니라

But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

7. 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말을 하리요 율법이 죄냐 그럴 수 없느니라 율법으로 말미암지 않고는 내가 죄를 알지 못하였으니 곧 율법이 탐내지 말라 하지 아니하였더라면 내가 탐심을 알지 못하였으리라

What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”

8. 그러나 죄가 기회를 타서 계명으로 말미암아 내 속에서 온갖 탐심을 이루었나니 이는 율법이 없으면 죄가 죽은 것임이라

But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead.

9. 전에 율법을 깨닫지 못했을 때에는 내가 살았더니 계명이 이르매 죄는 살아나고 나는 죽었도다

Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.

10. 생명에 이르게 할 그 계명이 내게 대하여 도리어 사망에 이르게 하는 것이 되었도다

I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.

11. 죄가 기회를 타서 계명으로 말미암아 나를 속이고 그것으로 나를 죽였는지라

For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.

12. 이로 보건대 율법은 거룩하고 계명도 거룩하고 의로우며 선하도다

So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.

13. 그런즉 선한 것이 내게 사망이 되었느냐 그럴 수 없느니라 오직 죄가 죄로 드러나기 위하여 선한 그것으로 말미암아 나를 죽게 만들었으니 이는 계명으로 말미암아 죄로 심히 죄 되게 하려 함이라

Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! Nevertheless, in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it used what is good to bring about my death, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

14. 우리가 율법은 신령한 줄 알거니와 나는 육신에 속하여 죄 아래에 팔렸도다

We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.

15. 내가 행하는 것을 내가 알지 못하노니 곧 내가 원하는 것은 행하지 아니하고 도리어 미워하는 것을 행함이라

I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

16. 만일 내가 원하지 아니하는 그것을 행하면 내가 이로써 율법이 선한 것을 시인하노니

And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.

17. 이제는 그것을 행하는 자가 내가 아니요 내 속에 거하는 죄니라

As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.

18. 내 속 곧 내 육신에 선한 것이 거하지 아니하는 줄을 아노니 원함은 내게 있으나 선을 행하는 것은 없노라

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

19. 내가 원하는 바 선은 행하지 아니하고 도리어 원하지 아니하는 바 악을 행하는도다

For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.

20. 만일 내가 원하지 아니하는 그것을 하면 이를 행하는 자는 내가 아니요 내 속에 거하는 죄니라

Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

21. 그러므로 내가 한 법을 깨달았노니 곧 선을 행하기 원하는 나에게 악이 함께 있는 것이로다

So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.

22. 내 속사람으로는 하나님의 법을 즐거워하되

For in my inner being I delight in Godʼs law;

23. 내 지체 속에서 한 다른 법이 내 마음의 법과 싸워 내 지체 속에 있는 죄의 법으로 나를 사로잡는 것을 보는도다

but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.

24. 오호라 나는 곤고한 사람이로다 이 사망의 몸에서 누가 나를 건져내랴

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?

25. 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님께 감사하리로다 그런즉 내 자신이 마음으로는 하나님의 법을 육신으로는 죄의 법을 섬기노라

Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to Godʼs law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
