Chapter 8 : Taek - je(澤齊,택제)... offering Devotiion in Accordance with
proper Standards... Article 10.
■ Taek (擇,택) : This regers to the standard of ultimate essence(精,정).
■ Je (齊,제) : This means to be quietly and solemnly abstinent.
■ Warning Against Haste : Even if ane has something to pray for,
being swayed by the six senses(육감) and rushing to fulfill a desire results in an
arrogant attitude toward God(Hananim).
■ Requirement for Prayer : therefore, one must choose a specifore date and ensure
that the Way(Do) of unwavering devotion fully saturates the heart.
Only them will God look down upon and examine the prayer.

● 澤은 至精之儀也요 齊는 靜戒之意也라 (택은 지정지의야요 제는 정계지의야라)

Je is the intent of quiet abstinence.
● 雖有所禱나 以六感餘使로 (수유소도나 이육감여사로)
Though there is something to pray for,
if one is led by the excesses of the six senses...
● 盤榮于胸次然後에 猝然求之면 (반영우흉차연후에 졸연구지면)
And if one seeks a result suddenly after[the desire] has
flourished in the breast....
● 此는 慢天神也니 必澤日戒心하여 (차는 만천신야니 필택일계심하여)
This is to be arrogant toward the Heavenly God ,
one must choose a day and abstain the mind.
● 一道誠線 乃行則天神이 俯瞰이시니라. (일도성선 내행즉천신이 부감이시니라.)
When the line of single - minded sincere devotion is established,
the Heavenly God will look down upon you.
