​
어쩌다가 수집이라 이십여년 지났는데
손수건을 주제로 한 내방가사 쓰려하니
학자들이 많다하나 전인미답 분야라서
어렵사리 시작한 글 막막하기 그지없네
역사적인 자료하나 정리된게 거의 없고
손수건에 무슨 미학 예술적인 가치 있나
코를 풀고 손도 닦고 눈물이나 훔쳐야지
다 늙어서 편히살지 뭐할려고 일벌리냐
얄궂어라 손수건을 누가 구경 올 것인가
온갖 궂은 말을하는 사람들도 있었지만
맨땅에다 머리 박듯 장님 코끼리 만지듯
새로운 길 닦아가는 초심자의 마음으로
참신하다 신박하다 용기 주는 분들 있어

미인대회 심사하듯 어디 한번 골라볼까

그중에도 단연 장미 누구나가 선호하네
뭇꽃들은 절기 따라 거듭 피고 지건마는
내 인생은 한번 가면 다시오기 어려우니
화양연화 호시절을 손수건에 가두어서
언제까지 나의 곁에 접어두고 보려하네
