Stacy : I finally placed a full order for a week of meal kits. I'm glad I tested out a few different companies.
Noah : Yeah, it's better to err on the side of caution when you're committing your food budget.
Stacy : It's beyond me how they can make it so inexpensive.
Noah : I think because they're preparing the same meal kits for a lot of people, it costs them less.
Stacy : I never thought of this as a mass-production kind of industry./ N: Yeah, but not in the same way that fast food is.
D: How do you like working in Korea so far?
J: It's been great. My co-workers are really friendly and I have a nice apartment. But my favorite thing is the food.
D: Yeah, it's a really international city when it comes to food.
J: No, I'm talking about Korean food. And more specifically, street food. It's amazing what delicious snacks you can get when you're on the go.
D: What's your favorite so far?/ J: Well, I haven't tried everything, but you can't go wrong gimbap.
D: I can't believe you live a stone's throw from Hapjeong Station and have never tried Mapo mando.
J: Cut me some slack, I've only been here a month!
D: Haven't you been reading my blog? I dedicated five posts to Mapo mandu.
J: I didn't realize you were such a foodie! I'll read the posts when I get home.
D: Sorry, but we have to fix this error right now. When we get to Hapjeong, I'm introducing you to the best mandu in Korea.
J: Whatever you say, Dakota, I'll just follow your lead.// D: You look a bit run-down. Did you have breakfast?
J: Sadly, no, In fact, I've missed breakfast every day this week. I usually live on coffee until lunchtime.
D: Follow me. If you're used to having eggs and toast every morning like me, this will be your favorite place to stop on the way to work.
J: I walk by this place every day. What do they sell?/ D: It's gyeran-ppang, or "egg bread."
J: They look and smell great! I'll probably be a regular here.
D: Josh, you have some red stuff on your chin. Here, let me get it for you.
J: Thanks. I just had some tteokbokki. I always see kids eating it, so I had to give it a try./D:I don't like when it's swimming in sauce.
J: That was the best part! I think the sweet and spicy sauce goes hand in hand with the understated flavor of the tteok .
D: That's a great description! Maybe you could write a guest blog post for me about it./ J: I start writing it today!
