The judged sacrament is harmful.
“ 27 Wherefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself; and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For If we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we shout not be condemned with the world.” (1 Corinthians 11:27-32)
Few church still performe the sacramental service properly.
Because, as the Lord said, it is rare for those who know the principle of remembrancing the body of the Lord (Luke 22:19) to perform the sacramental service.
Sacramental service does not have the meaning of the ritual performed, but the reality of remembrancing the body and blood of the Lord and participating in the Lord's death and resurrection is important.
When we eat the bread and drink the cup of blood according to the Word, we experience the mystical experience of being united with the body and blood of the Lord by the Holy Spirit, or as those who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we remember and commemorate the fact that we have become one with the Lord's body and blood, so we experience the Lord appearing in us.
So, if you do the holy communion ceremony properly, many works of healing will take place.
Therefore, we need to think deeply about the fact that Paul reminds us of the Lord's word to commemorate the sacrament , not to do it.
It means that we should not only focus on performing the sacrament service, but actually commemorate the body and blood of the Lord as those who have the new covenant that become one with the body and blood of the Lord.
Nevertheless, there are those who eat and drink this sacrament unworthily.
In other words, do not participate in a form that does not have the content of being united in the body and blood of the Lord.
On the night he was arrested, the Lord ate the Lord's Supper.
Jesus predicted in advance that when the Holy Spirit comes to achieve all the words he has spoken, his disciples will commemorate his body and blood.
So, continuing to commemorate the Lord's death is until the Lord's 'come'.
However, each of you should think carefully about when that “coming time” will be.
This is a personal secret.
So Calvin says that the sacrament is possible only by the Word.
"To be guilty against the body and blood of the Lord" means that there is a punishment.
If we do not have the content that become one with the Lord by the Spirit of the Lord, the act of eating this bread and drink this cup of the Lord itself becomes a sin.
So if you don't do it, it's not a sin.
It is the same example of an uninvited person participating in an event wearing a fake ticket.
That's why He says, "Examine yourself" (v. 28).
It is to test whether you are a person of faith who has received Christ. (Tokimazō)
(Refer to Romans 8:1-11, 2 Corinthians 13:5, 1 John 4:1)
We need to check whether we acknowledge that we have become one body with Christ through the baptism of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13).
Only then will it become a spiritual worship that renews the mind and changes. (Romans 12:2)
" Examine yourself, for you that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to yourself, not discerning the Lord's body."
Therefore, we must celebrate the bread and cup of the Lord after passing through sufficient tests.
Only then can we eat and drink the body and blood of Christ through the bread and the cup according to the Word.
Otherwise, you will eat and drink sin, that is, judgment.
If you think no, you have to decide no.
Thinking that you are wrong is itself a sin and a judgment.
Whether or not you become one body and one spirit with Christ in the Holy Spirit is your own judgment.
By violating this, the consequences of punishment for the weak, the sick, and the sleepy appear.
This is because, as those who do not have the truth, their own judgment becomes judgment.
He refers to it as discipline. (v. 32)
That is why he ‘examine’ (dokimazō) test, if you examined’ (dia crino), discern.
Am I a Christian with the Spirit of Christ? Am I a man of the flesh?
Jesus says to those who judge according to the flesh, “I am not alone, but with God who sent me” (John 8:16).
We also confess that the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness (Romans 8:10).
To have the right sacrament, as a spiritual person, judge everything and not be judged yourself .
Judgment based on that spiritual discernment is necessary. (1 Cor. 2:15)
Being judged for not being one with Christ is in itself a discipline.
So, if you can't examine yourself, discipline comes in order not to be condemned like the world.
To come under the judgment of the Lord is condemnation (kata crino) with the world.
Therefore, those who violate the body of Christ through the sacrament must have true repentance.
You must listen to the word of truth, the gospel of Christ, understand the message of the cross, and fulfill the new covenant within yourself, in which you become one with Christ.
The prototype model is repentance through Peter's sermon and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, receiving the forgiveness of sins, receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, and then breaking bread (Acts 2:38,42).
It is because only the Holy Spirit commemorates and remembers the fact that we have become one bread with Christ.
