(대하28:1-27)
1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the LORD.  2 He walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and also made cast idols for worshiping the Baals.  3 He burned sacrifices in the Valley of Ben Hinnom and sacrificed his sons in the fire, following the detestable ways of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.  4 He offered sacrifices and burned incense at the high places, on the hilltops and under every spreading tree.  5 Therefore the LORD his God handed him over to the king of Aram. The Arameans defeated him and took many of his people as prisoners and brought them to Damascus. He was also given into the hands of the king of Israel, who inflicted heavy casualties on him.  6 In one day Pekah son of Remaliah killed a hundred and twenty thousand soldiers in Judah--because Judah had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers.  7 Zicri, an Ephraimite warrior, killed Maaseiah the king's son, Azrikam the officer in charge of the palace, and Elkanah, second to the king.  8 The Israelites took captive from their kinsmen two hundred thousand wives, sons and daughters. They also took a great deal of plunder, which they carried back to Samaria.  9 But a prophet of the LORD named Oded was there, and he went out to meet the army when it returned to Samaria. He said to them, "Because the LORD, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he gave them into your hand. But you have slaughtered them in a rage that reaches to heaven.  10 And now you intend to make the men and women of Judah and Jerusalem your slaves. But aren't you also guilty of sins against the LORD your God?  11 Now listen to me! Send back your fellow countrymen you have taken as prisoners, for the LORD'S fierce anger rests on you."  12 Then some of the leaders in Ephraim--Azariah son of Jehohanan, Berekiah son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai--confronted those who were arriving from the war.  13 "You must not bring those prisoners here," they said, "or we will be guilty before the LORD. Do you intend to add to our sin and guilt? For our guilt is already great, and his fierce anger rests on Israel."  14 So the soldiers gave up the prisoners and plunder in the presence of the officials and all the assembly.  15 The men designated by name took the prisoners, and from the plunder they clothed all who were naked. They provided them with clothes and sandals, food and drink, and healing balm. All those who were weak they put on donkeys. So they took them back to their fellow countrymen at Jericho, the City of Palms, and returned to Samaria.  16 At that time King Ahaz sent to the king of Assyria for help.  17 The Edomites had again come and attacked Judah and carried away prisoners,  18 while the Philistines had raided towns in the foothills and in the Negev of Judah. They captured and occupied Beth Shemesh, Aijalon and Gederoth, as well as Soco, Timnah and Gimzo, with their surrounding villages.  19 The LORD had humbled Judah because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he had promoted wickedness in Judah and had been most unfaithful to the LORD.  20 Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came to him, but he gave him trouble instead of help.  21 Ahaz took some of the things from the temple of the LORD and from the royal palace and from the princes and presented them to the king of Assyria, but that did not help him.  22 In his time of trouble King Ahaz became even more unfaithful to the LORD.  23 He offered sacrifices to the gods of Damascus, who had defeated him; for he thought, "Since the gods of the kings of Aram have helped them, I will sacrifice to them so they will help me." But they were his downfall and the downfall of all Israel.  24 Ahaz gathered together the furnishings from the temple of God and took them away. He shut the doors of the LORD'S temple and set up altars at every street corner in Jerusalem.  25 In every town in Judah he built high places to burn sacrifices to other gods and provoked the LORD, the God of his fathers, to anger.  26 The other events of his reign and all his ways, from beginning to end, are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.  27 Ahaz rested with his fathers and was buried in the city of Jerusalem, but he was not placed in the tombs of the kings of Israel. And Hezekiah his son succeeded him as king.  

오늘은 아하스에 대한 기사를 읽어보며
마음으로 
분노가 치솟음을 느낀다
비록 2,767년 전의 인물이요 과거의 사건이기는 하지만...

그는 각종 우상에 빠져 섬겼고
온 유다를 우상화(偶像化) 되게 했으며
심지어 자기 자식을 인신제물로 바친
극악무도(極惡無道)한 아버지 였다는 것

그의 그러함을 이유로 
하나님은 그럼에도 불구하고 그를 깨닫게 하여
회개회개(悔改回改)하시려는 의도로
아람 그리고 이스라엘을 동원 패전 약탈 민족적 포로를 경험하게 하시는데...

그래도...
그렇게 했음에도
그렇게 당했음에도 불구하고
그들은 마치 훨훨타는 불을 향하여 돌진하는 불나방같은 날개짓을 지속했음을 본다

8-15절은 이스라엘의 침략을 다루고 있는데...
저들은 아람과 같이 대승
수 많은 남유다인들을 포로로 
많은 전획물을 가지고 사마리아로 귀환하는데...

하나님의 종 선지자 ‘오뎃’을 통한 하나님의 지적
동족을 그리하였음이 얼마나 큰 죄요
하나님의 진노와 벌을 받을 행위인가를 선포하자
결국에는 본향으로 모두 돌려보냈다는 내용을 언급하는데...

왜?
하나님은 왜 이런 기록을 삽입되도록 하셨을까?
그것은 바로 
본래 여로보암으로부터 시작된 패악으로 시작한 북이스엘인들만도 못하다는 비교법(比較法)의 효과(效果)를 독자들에게 깨닫게 하려 하심이 아닐까...하는 생각을 해 본다

아하스는 급기야 
하나님의 성전 문을 닫게 하고
온 성 모퉁이 곳곳에 우상을 만들어 세우게 하였으며
전국적으로 우상을 섬길 목적의 산당이 무수하게 한 패악을 저지른다

천인공노(天人共怒)할 인간 아하스
16년동안 왕위에 있으면서
아마도 평생 전쟁과 불안속에 지냈으며 결국 BC728년 사망했는데...
하나님을 향한 그래도 신앙을 지켜 온 몇 유력한 존재들이 있었는지...그는 열왕의 묘실에 들어가지 못하는 종지부(終止符)를 찍고 말도록 하시는 하나님의 섭리를 본다

오늘 나는 아하스를 보며
그는 평소에 하나님의 말씀을 독청묵기적(讀聽黙祈適)하지 않았기에
신명기 6장 11장의 혜택을 전혀 받지 못한 존재가 아닐까...를 생각하게 한다
안타깝다

요즘 바닥을 치고 있는 교세
하지만 그래도 실낱같은 희망을 내게 선사해 주는 남은자들의 변화
하나님의 말씀을 직접 접하여 알아가고 있는 모습들을 시청각(視聽覺)하느니...
주님의 말씀을 전달할 때마다 더욱 초롱초롱해지는 눈들과 마주침의 기쁨을 누리게 하신 주께 감사드린다
