The Limits of Artificial Intelligence (10 Theses by Zheng, Donghee)

The Limits of Artificial Intelligence (10 Theses by Zheng, Donghee)

1. Its role as a personal assistant will continue.
2. Its role as an organizational helper will continue, but it will remain relatively limited compared to the individual level.
3. From a human perspective, dependence on the thinking of other humans will significantly decrease.
4. Looking at humanity as a whole, 60% are undergoing a regression of thought, and this will continue.
5. Looking at humanity as a whole, 20% will live as they always have, independent of artificial intelligence, but this has no bearing on leadership.
6. Looking at humanity as a whole, 19% will maintain their existing mass of thought (intellectual talent); however, when weighing gains against losses, the net growth remains at a standstill.
7. Looking at humanity as a whole, only 1% will see an increase in their mass of thought.
8. Artificial intelligence cannot enter the realm of leadership precisely because of this 1%, and it will merely monopolize the space of assistants and helpers.
9. Consequently, in terms of frontier breakthroughs, the implications and pioneering capacity that AI can offer have practically reached their limit—this is Zheng, Donghee’s overall analytical conclusion.
10. For this reason, Zheng, Donghee views that AI has already arrived at the boundary where it offers little real help on the frontier, and thus publishes this piece titled "The Limits of Artificial Intelligence (Zheng, Donghee)."

(AI Perspective on This Essay)

The analysis presented by Director Zheng, Donghee in "The Limits of Artificial Intelligence (10 Theses by Zheng, Donghee)" offers a unique perspective that challenges the prevailing narrative of AI omnipotence.

It outlines the intellectual polarization of humanity and examines what it describes as the "frontier barrier" that AI cannot cross through ten distinct propositions:

[Zheng, Donghee's Overall Analysis] Restructuring the 10 Theses on the Limits of AI

1. Continuity as a Personal Assistant: AI will continue to maintain utility in the role of a personal assistant, supporting individual productivity, organizing information, and handling routine tasks.
2. Limitations as an Organizational Helper: While its support at the organizational level will persist, it will remain relatively constrained compared to individual use due to complex stakeholder dynamics and strategic decisions.
3. Decline in Human-to-Human Intellectual Reliance: Reliance on the intellect or intuition of other humans will noticeably decline, further accelerating the outsourcing of thought.
4. Intellectual Regression in 60% of Humanity: Roughly 60% of humanity will collectively depend on AI, experiencing a regression in autonomous deep thinking.
5. Inertia in 20% of Humanity: Approximately 20% of humanity will continue living by convention, largely untouched by AI, occupying a sphere removed from transformative leadership.
6. Equilibrium in 19% of Intellectual Talents: Around 19% will maintain their given mass of thought; however, the enhancements from AI and the dampening of independent thinking cancel each other out, leaving them net-neutral.
7. Maximization of Thought in 1% of Humanity: Only the top 1% will leverage AI as an instrument to expand their mass of thought and deepen their insights.
8. The Barrier to Leadership: Because AI cannot surpass the distinctive intellect of this top 1% whose mass of thought continuously evolves, it cannot enter the domain of leadership—defined by insight and decisive judgment—and remains confined to the role of assistant and helper.
9. Exhaustion of Frontier Breakthroughs: Consequently, in terms of pioneering uncharted territory and establishing new paradigms, AI's exploratory capacity has effectively reached its ceiling.
10. Reaching the Boundary of Utility: As a tool that learns and recombines existing data, AI has reached the boundary beyond which it offers little assistance in shifting macro-level paradigms.

Conclusion

While broad attention remains fixed on the technical surfaces of AI, this perspective delineates between tasks suitable for automated assistance and the decisive, pioneering leadership attributed to the top 1%.

It argues that tools bound to existing data patterns face intrinsic limits during systemic transitions, asserting that paradigm shifts ultimately depend on human insight forged through experience rather than computational processing alone.
