" But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."(John 14:26)
Do you know how to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is given as a gift when you hear the gospel of the fact that you are included in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and his resurrection , believe it, die with the Lord and live again, and receive forgiveness of sins through baptism. (Acts 2:38)
Since we have obtained righteousness through faith, of course the Holy Spirit comes in us.
God always comes with righteousness before him.(Psalm 85:13)
To say that the Holy Spirit teaches means that the Holy Spirit is always with us and constantly changes our thoughts.
It means that the Holy Spirit nags our conscience, saying, ‘you can’t do it if you think like that’.
To give an example like a child, ‘Holy Spirit, will I hit one of those friends?’
‘Oh no, you're thinking bad thoughts’
Even so, it is the nature of Christians that they insist on defeating one another, but eventually become persuaded by the Holy Spirit after time passes.
Suddenly, the desire to beat disappears.
This is what the Holy Spirit teaches.
And to remind you means to make you realize.
It means that He continuously makes us realize the heart and mind of the Lord within us.
The important thing is that the Lord reveals Himself within us only when we receive the Word and change ourselves according to the teachings and reminders of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord does not reveal himself to those who do not change.
Pastor Moody told those who are trying to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit to fix their heart first in order to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
That is why it is said that the Holy Spirit, the Counselor, teaches us first and then reminds us.
So, from the moment the Holy Spirit indwells us and repairs us internally, Christ sits down and appears as light, life, and love.
So, "Peace I leave with you. my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
For those who do not have peace, the Holy Spirit comes and teaches them, but it is because they do not receive that teaching and stubbornly live according to their own will and desires.
There is no peace because they do everything according to their own thoughts.
It is because the Lord does not reveal Himself in such people.
When God's righteousness is revealed in us, there is peace.
The kingdom of God is righteousness in the Holy Spirit first, then peace, and therefore joy (Romans 14:17).
It is the peace (Eirene) that has become one with Christ.
When the Lord acknowledges us as right, peace appears in us, but many people have stubbornness due to greed that they must do what they set their mind to.
That's why the Lord doesn't take our side. So there is no peace within us.
These words, 'Do not quench the Holy Spirit, do not grieve the Holy Spirit' are ultimately for our benefit.
If you reject the teachings of the Holy Spirit, you will not have peace.
Isaiah 26:3 says "the Lord will keep him in perfect in peace, whose mind is stayed on the Lord: because he trusts in the Lord.
Those who trust in the Holy Spirit gain peace and their will is strengthened, but those who do not trust in the Holy Spirit simply follow their own desires, follow their own ideas and follow their stereotypes, and run hard, so there is no peace in them and they are always shaken.
It is a double mind with a heart in the heart.
So it is like chaff that the wind blows away (Psalm 1:4).
Because it doesn't please the Holy Spirit.
The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, comes to teach and remind us and to give us true peace, but because we have not received him or honored him we do not have peace.
The peace that the Lord gives is not the same as the world gives, which means that the world also gives some peace.
However, the peace that the Holy Spirit gives is completely different from that, it is an excellent peace. It's a whole different dimension of peace.
The Lord says, "You have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I." (John 14:28).
And he says, “Now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, you might believe” (John 14:29).
You must understand these words.
It is true that the case of giving peace did not come true in the time of Jesus.
Then when? It will be done in 'three days'.
Between Jesus and Christ there are three days.
Jesus is historical and openly revealed, but Christ in us is the hope and mystery of glory (Colossians 1:27).
There is a division between those who believe Jesus and those who receive Christ because of the cross of Christ.
You must remember that the Gospel of John was fulfilled three days after the Lord died on the cross.
“Hereafter I will not talk much with you, for the prince of this world come, and has nothing in me” (John 14:30).
This means that the prince of the world has no connection to Jesus.
“But that the world may know that I love the Father and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.” (John 14:31)
Are we with the world now? Are we separate from the world?
Ask yourself the question.
When we are with the world, we always fight with the world as if wrestling.
In such a situation, the Lord comes and always says, "Arise, let us leave this place."
Then, now that Jesus is saying, ‘Get up and let’s leave here’, where are we going?
That place is the very Father's house that says, 'If the Lord goes and prepares a place for us, he will come again to receive us.'
It is not a place to see with your eyes and walk with your feet, but that is John 15.
Then, let's look forward to the words of John 15.
