Klang and port

쿠알라룸푸르로부터 약30km 서쪽 항구지역으로 가보았다.
옛왕조가 있던 도시로서 국제적인 흐름을 맨먼저 겪었던 지역이다.
I went to the western port area which is about 30km away from Kuala Lumpur.
The city which was once a capital of old kingdom has gone through interational struggle from the early days.

전철을 타고 한시간을 가서 Klang 역에 도착하니 강변에 이슬람 사원이 보인다.
I took electric railway for one hour and arrived at Klang station.
I could see an Islamic Mosgue at riverside.

관청이 있는 자리에 옛 성벽의 흔적이 있다.
The remains of old castle are seen at the site of government building.

시내 곳곳에 보이는 이슬람계 은행
I could see several Islamic banks.

그리고 화교계열의 학교
And Chinese schools.

웅장한 모스크
Grand Mosgque.
이 사진들은 말레이시아가 중국계와 이슬람계의 섞여있는 단면을 보여준다.
이질적인 문화의 공존이 원활하게 이루어지고 있다.
게다가 물가도 싼 편이다.
이 나라에서 국제적 비지니스가 활발한 것도 이해가 된다.
These pictures indicate that Malaysia is a mixture of Chinese people and Islamic people.
The coexistence of different cultures is going well.
Moreover, the prices are relatively cheap.
Now I understand why international business activities are brisk in Malaysia.





묘지는 산위와 평지를 가리지 않고 쓰고 있다.
Cemetries are located both on hillside and flat land.

호기심을 보이는 동네 아이들과 함께
We took a picture with childrens who show curiosity.

이 동네를 걸어가는데 초등학생들이 달려 오고 있다.
When we were walking through a village, primary school students were running to us.

리플렛을 나누어 주니 필자에게 호기심에 눈을 반짝인다.
하라상이 마침 사진을 잘 찍었다.
I handed out leaflets to the boys who looked at me with curious eyes.
Mr. Hara took the moment with a nice picture.

초등학교 상급생이어서 그런지 영어설명을 알아듣고는 매우 놀란다.
시간이 지나도 그들은 기억할 것이다.
먼 나라 한국에서 온 어느 사람이 탈핵을 외치며 로마까지 2년을 걸어가고 있는 것을 봤다고.
이들에게 뿌린 씨앗이 나중에 어떻게 자라날까.
Since they were primary school students of high grade, they understood my English explanation of pilgrimage. They were very much surprised. I am sure every boy will remember that he met a Korean who was walking to Rome shouting "No Nukes!"
I sowed a seed. When will the seed grow and bloom?

This is a monumental picture for the future generation.

교통이 밀리는 가운데 통학버스안의 학생들에게 리플렛을 나누어 주었다.
I handed out leaflets to the students in the bus which stopped because of heavy traffic.

이 육교는 계단경사가 완만해서 자전거도 넘어갈 수 있다.
The lamp of this overbridge is so gentle that even a cycle could pass.

어느 절집
A Buddhist temple.

마침내 항구에 도착했다.
이날 걸은 거리는 대략 16km.
Finally I arrived at the port. I walked about 16km.
