자리 말고 자태를 위하여(마23:1-12)

마23:1

공주야!

가시적인 것만 좇고 보이는 것에만 몰두하는 세상이다. 외형에만 매달리고

외적 활동으로 요란하다. 겉치레가 심해진다는 건 영혼이 빈약하다는 뜻이다.

빈약한 영혼일수록 세인의 시선과 평가에 민감하다. 종교지도자들처럼 가시

적인 것에 연연하다가 가식적인 사람이 되고 만다.

It's a princess!
It is a world where only the visible things are followed and only the visible

things are focused on the visible. It is noisy due to external activities and

clinging only to its appearance. Getting worse in appearance means poor

soul. The poorer the soul, the more sensitive it is to the public's gaze and

eval‎uation. Like religious leaders, they cling to something tangible and

become pretentious.

서기관과 바리새인들은 모세의 율법에 정통한 사람들이었다. 배우고

가르치기를 좋아했지만 그것을 행하지는 않았다. 따라서 그들의 가르침은

지키되 그들의 행위는 본받지 말라고 하신다. 하지만 엄밀하게 보면, 그들의

가르침 또한 온전하지 못하다.

The scribes and Pharisees were well versed in the laws of Moses. I liked

to learn and teach, but I didn't do it. Therefore, they say to keep their

teachings but not to imitate their actions. But strictly speaking, their

teachings are also not intact.

참 진리라면 자유함을 줄 것인데, 그들의 가르침은 사람의 어깨에 놓인 무거운

짐 같다. 말씀을 듣는 자를 상벌 체계 아래서 쩔쩔매게 만든다. 인격적으로

하나님과, 그리고 가르치는 자와 교류하지 못하게 하는 말씀을 전한다.

True truth will give freedom, and their teaching is like a heavy burden on

a man's shoulder. It makes the listener feel awkward under the reward and

punishment system. Personally, it conveys a word that prevents people

from interacting with God and with the instructor.

말씀을 소유하여 가르치는 ‘자리’를 차지하는 데 그치지 않고, 말씀대로

살아서 열매를 맺는 ‘자태’를 형성해가는 성도가 하나님 나라에 합당하다.

서기관과 바리새인들에게 행위가 없는 것은 아니다.

It is appropriate for the kingdom of God to not only occupy the "place"

where words are owned and taught, but also to form a "self" that lives

and bears fruit as said. The scribes and Pharisees are not without action.

다만 그 행위가 말씀에 순종함으로 하나님께 합당한 사람이 되려는 행위가

아니라 사람들의 주목과 칭찬과 동경을 유발하는 행위일 뿐이었고, 하나님을

높이기보다는 자기 자신을 높여서 하나님이 받으셔야할 대접과 영광을 가로

채기 위한 행위일 뿐이었다. 그들의 존재와 형식은 큰 차이가 있었다.

However, the act was not an act of obeying the word to become a reasonable

person to God, but an act of inducing people's attention, praise, and admiration,

and only to steal the treatment and glory that God should receive by raising

himself rather than raising God. Their existence and form differed greatly.

속에 있는 진심이 가시화되는 삶이 아니라, 겉을 꾸며 과시하는 삶이었다.

제자들에게 바리새인과 서기관들을 본받지 말라고 하신다. 랍비라는 말을

듣거나 아버지라는 말을 듣는 것을 좋아해서는 안 된다. 심지어 지도자라

칭함을 받는 것도 거부하라고 하신다.

It was not a life in which the sincerity inside was visible, but a life in which

the outside was decorated and displayed. He tells his disciples not to

imitate the Pharisees and scribes. You should not like to be called a rabbi

or a father. They say to refuse to even be labeled a leader.

물론 그 호칭 자체를 금기시하라는 뜻은 아니다. 삶으로는 진정한 선생,

진정한 아버지, 진정한 지도자인 예수님을 거절하고 가리면서 성도들 앞

에서는 그런 자리와 명예를 자처하는 것을 금하시는 것이다. 진정 큰 자는

섬기는 자이고, 진정 높은 자는 낮추는 자다. 이웃을 섬기고 높여줌으로서

그리스도를 높이고 섬기는 자들이다.

Of course, it does not mean that the title itself should be taboo. Life

forbids people from claiming such a position and honor in front of the

saints, refusing and covering Jesus, a true teacher, a true father, and

a true leader. The true great is the one who serves, the true high is the

one who lowers. They are those who raise and serve Christ by

serving and raising their neighbors.

이에 예수께서(1a)

무리와 제자들에게 말씀하여 가라사대(1b)

서기관들과 바리새인들이 모세의 자리에 앉았으니(2)

그러므로 무엇이든지 저희의 말하는 바는 행하고 지키되(3a)

저희의 하는 행위는 본받지 말라(3b)

저희는 말만 하고 행치 아니하며(3c)

또 무거운 짐을 묶어 사람의 어깨에 지우되(4a)

자기는 이것을 한 손가락으로도 움직이려 하지 아니하며(4b)

-

저희 모든 행위를 사람에게 보이고자 하여 하나니(5a)

곧 그 차는 경문을 넓게 하며 옷 술을 크게 하고(5b)

잔치의 상석과 회당의 상좌와(6)

시장에서 문안 받는 것과(7a)

사람에게 랍비라 칭함을 받는 것을 좋아하느니라(7b)

그러나 너희는 랍비라 칭함을 받지 말라(8a)

너희 선생은 하나이요 너희는 다 형제니라(8b)

땅에 있는 자를 아비라 하지 말라(9a)

너희 아버지는 하나이시니(9b)

곧 하늘에 계신 자시니라(9c)

또한 지도자라 칭함을 받지 말라(10a)

너희 지도자는 하나이니 곧 그리스도니라(10b)

너희 중에 큰 자는(11a)

너희를 섬기는 자가 되어야 하리라(11b)

누구든지 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고(12a)

누구든지 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라(12b)

행동 없는 위선_inaction hypocrisy

허영에 취한 자아_a vain self

하나님 나라에 가장 큰 장애물은 종교적 허위와 허영이나이다.

주님, 제자가 있어야 할 곳은 모세의 자리가 아니라 섬김의 자리인데,

제 마음에 인정이나 존경받고 싶은 마음이 있는 것을 고백합니다.

이 때문에 늘 스트레스가 있고 열등감 속에 의기소침했던 것을 불쌍히

여겨주소서, 진리가 자유하게 한다고 하신 것을 믿고 섬기는 자가

되게 하옵소서.

The biggest obstacles to God's kingdom are religious falsehood

and vanity. Lord, the place where disciples should be is not the

place of Moses, but the place of service, and I confess that I have

a desire to be recognized or respected in my heart. For this reason,

take pity on your always stressed and depressed feelings of

inferiority, so that you can be a person who believes and serves

in what you say is free of truth.
