Breaking News #1 Humming Bird

Last week, I saw the aquarium student walking near the campus where I work. She is no longer a student at my college, but she still comes to campus because she works there part-time. I was driving when I saw her, and she looked so happy.

As soon as I parked, I messaged her and told her that I noticed how happy she looked. She replied that she was happy because she loved the current weather and because she had seen a hummingbird. She loves hummingbirds, so that completely made her day.

I messaged her back and said, “I pray that the hummingbirds will follow you daily.”

Then, about three days later, my children were playing in the front yard when my second daughter came to me and said she saw a bird’s nest near our roof. When I looked up, I realized it was a hummingbird nest.

The small, skinny beak let me know it was a hummingbird protecting its eggs. When I stepped back a little, I watched the bird fly away briefly and then return to the nest. I was amazed to see it, but deep down I knew God had heard my prayer.

These new hummingbirds are now going to visit the aquarium student soon. When the chicks grow bigger, they will fly away and visit her daily. Right now, they are preparing at my house before they go!

God is so funny like that. I didn’t think much about the prayer when I said it, but then it actually happened. God already knew all along that this would happen.
