1. What does the baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire refer to?

The baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire refers to one of the baptisms administered by Jesus through the Holy Spirit, signifying the state where the fire of the Holy Spirit takes complete control of a person. In other words, it refers to the state where my body is fully possessed by the fire of the Holy Spirit.

2. What symptoms appear when one receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire?

Various symptoms appear when one receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire. The most fundamental is that demons depart. This is because demons also suffer when they receive the fire of the Holy Spirit, and unable to endure it, they leave (Mark 5:7-8). One also feels a burning sensation in the body. Particularly, the chest, hands, and feet become hot. Those who are not sensitive to such spiritual sensations may not feel this. Furthermore, receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire can cause the body temperature to rise. And changes also occur in the heart.

3. How does the baptism of the Holy Spirit differ from water baptism or the baptism of the Holy Spirit?

The baptism of the Holy Spirit actually belongs to the final stage among the baptisms a person can receive. First comes water baptism, followed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. At this time, some receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit along with the baptism of the Holy Spirit, while others receive only the baptism of the Holy Spirit and later receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, after believing in Jesus, a person receives three kinds of baptism. This process is similar to the three stages of the tabernacle. Just as the tabernacle was composed of the courtyard, the Holy Place, and the Most Holy Place, the baptisms a person receives are water baptism, baptism in the Holy Spirit, and baptism with the Holy Spirit's fire. The very first part of the tabernacle is the ‘courtyard’ containing the altar of burnt offering and the laver. People believe in Jesus, who died on the cross, at the altar of burnt offering, then go to the laver to wash their hands and feet. This is when a person is born again. Here, one can say a person receives ‘water baptism’.

Then, as the second stage, there is the Holy Place, containing the seven golden lampstands, the altar of incense, and the table of showbread. Here, a person receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Finally, at the very deepest place within a person, there is the ‘Holy of Holies’. Here lies the Ark of the Covenant, covered by two cherubim. Inside this Ark are the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments, the manna, and Aaron's staff that budded. Just as there is light and fire within the Holy of Holies, saints receive the baptism of fire of the Holy Spirit here.

Here, water baptism is the baptism received by nearly all Christians when they believe in Jesus or shortly after believing. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is received when one earnestly prays to live as a witness to the gospel. Finally, the baptism of the Holy Spirit with fire occurs when the Holy Spirit burns away and removes the evil spirits within a person through fire, enabling the one baptized with fire to live as a missionary or minister.

2. 성령의 불세례를 받으면 어떤 증상이 나타나는가?

성령의 불세례를 받으면 다양한 증상이 나타난다. 가장 기본적인 것은 귀신들이 떠나간다는 것이다. 왜냐하면 귀신들도 성령의 불을 받으면 고통을 받기 때문에 견디다 못해 떠나가기 때문이다(막5:7~8). 그리고 몸이 뜨거움을 느낀다. 특히 가슴과 손과 발 부위가 뜨거워진다. 이러한 영적 감각에 민감하지 않으신 분들은 느끼지 못할 수도 있다. 그리고 성령의 불세례를 받으면 몸의 체온이 올라가기도 한다. 그리고 마음에도 변화가 일어난다.

3. 성령의 불세례는 물세례나 성령세례와 어떤 차이가 있는가?

성령의 불세례는 사실 사람이 받을 수 있는 세례 중에서 맨 마지막 단계에 속한다. 가장 먼저는 물세례를 받고 이어서 성령세례를 받는다. 이때 성령세례와 함께 성령의 불세례를 같이 받는 분들도 있고, 성령세례만 받고 후에 성령의 불세례를 받기도 한다. 고로 사람이 예수님을 믿은 후에 3가지의 세례를 받는 것이다. 그 과정은 곧 성막의 3가지 단계와 비슷하다. 성막은 크게 성막뜰과 성소와 지성소로 구성되어 있듯이, 사람이 받을 세례도 물세례와 성령세례와 성령의 불세례가 있다. 성막의 제일 첫 부분은 번제단과 물두멍이 있는 '성막뜰'이 있다. 사람들은 번제단에서 십자가에서 죽으신 예수님을 믿고 물두멍에 가서 자신의 손과 발을 씻는다. 그러면 사람이 중생하는 것이다. 여기서 사람은 '물세례'를 받는다고 말할 수 있다.

그리고 두 번째 단계로서 일곱 금촛대와 향단과 떡상이 있는 성소가 있는데 사람은 여기에서 성령세례를 받는 것이다. 그리고 맨 마지막으로 사람의 가장 깊숙한 곳으로서 '지성소'가 있다. 이곳에는 두 명의 그룹천사가 덮고 있는 법궤가 놓여 있다. 이 법궤 안에는 십계명의 두 돌판과 만나와 아론의 싹난 지팡이가 들어 있다. 그런데 지성소 안에 빛과 불이 있듯이 성도들은 이곳에서 성령의 불세례를 받는 것이다.

여기서 물세례는 거의 모든 그리스도인들이 예수님을 믿을 때 혹은 믿고 나서 얼마 지나지 않아서 다 받는 세례다. 그리고 성령세례는 복음의 증인으로 살고자 간절히 기도할 때에 받게 된다. 그리고 마지막으로 성령의 불세례는 성령께서 불로 사람 속에 있는 악한 영들을 태워 제거함으로서, 불세례를 받은 자로 하여금 사명자 내지는 사역자로 살게 하기 위함이다.

Finally, the purpose of receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit with fire is to receive the fire of the Holy Spirit to burn away the evil spirits within, purifying one's entire body to be used as God's worker and minister. Therefore, if we define the purpose of these three baptisms in one sentence, it is to become a believer through water baptism, a witness through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and a minister of God through the baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire.

5. What benefits come from receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire?

So, what benefits come from receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire? We will cover this in more detail next time, but fundamentally, it enables one to cast out demons. This is because when fire enters our body, it burns the evil spirits within us. The demons then cannot endure and depart. Therefore, we can understand that receiving the baptism of fire causes demons to leave. Consequently, whatever was within our body is automatically removed, one by one. Then, one is healed from incurable diseases or cancer. Gifts appear, and spiritual eyes may open. Not only does one's character change, but one can become a worker or minister for God. Furthermore, one's body temperature rises to a normal level, immunity strengthens, and the physical body becomes healthy. Therefore, we must earnestly desire to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire and, when the opportunity arises, we need to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit's fire.

4. 물세례와 성령세례와 성령의 불세례가 베풀어지는 목적은 무엇인가?

하나님께서 사람에게 '물세례'를 받고 이어서 '성령세례'와 그리고 '성령의 불세례'를 받게 하는 목적은 어디에 있는가? 그것은 3가지의 세례가 각각 그 목적이 다르다. 첫째, 사람이 물세례를 받는 목적은 예수님을 믿고 회개하여 예수님을 자신의 마음속에 영접함으로 하나님의 자녀가 되게 하는데에 그 목적이 있다. 그리고 둘째, 사람이 성령세례를 받는 목적은 능력과 은사를 받아 복음의 증인으로 살기 위함이다. 그리고 마지막으로 셋째, 사람이 성령의 불세례를 받는 목적은 성령의 불을 받아 자기 속에 있는 악한 영들을 불태워서, 자신의 몸 전체를 정결케 만들어 하나님의 일꾼과 사역자로 쓰임받게 하기 위함이다. 그러므로 3가지 세례의 목적을 한 마디로 정의한다면 물세례를 받아 성도가 되고, 성령세례를 받아 증인이 되며, 성령의 불세례를 받아 하나님의 사역자가 되게 하려는 데에 그 목적이 있는 것이다.

5. 성령의 불세례를 받으면 어떤 유익이 있는가?

그렇다면 성령의 불세례를 받게 되면 어떤 유익이 있는가? 이것은 다음 시간에 더 자세히 다루겠지만 가장 기본적으로 귀신을 떠나보낼 수가 있다는 것이다. 왜냐하면 불이 우리 몸에 들어오면 우리 몸속에 들어 있는 악한 영들을 태우기 때문이다. 그러면 귀신들이 견디다 못해 떠나가게 된다. 그러므로 불세례를 받으면 귀신이 떠나간다는 것을 알 수 있다. 그러면 우리 몸속에 들어와 있던 것들이 하나씩 하나씩 자동적으로 제거가 된다. 그러면 불치병이나 암병에서 치유받는다. 그리고 은사가 나타나고 영안이 열리기도 한다. 그리고 자신의 성품이 달라질 뿐만 아니라 하나님의 일꾼이나 사역자가 될 수가 있다. 그리고 자기의 몸의 체온이 정상의 수준으로 올라가 면역력이 강화되어 육체가 건강해진다. 고로 우리는 반드시 성령의 불세례를 받는 것을 사모하고 기회가 되면 성령으로 불세례를 받을 필요가 있다.
