Aaron (Phoenix):
Shawn,
First off, congrats on the 14 game win streak, we at home in Phoenix
only hope to see it keep going. It does seem though that Phoenix as a
team is meshing quite well, the chemistry has been remarkable, what do
you think attributed that change in Phoenix Suns basketball?
Shawn Marion: I think we just came together as a team and decided that we will leave everything we have on the floor. That's it.
Alex Skinner (Avondale): What's the atmosphere been like in the locker room/practices since the streak?
Shawn Marion: Oh, it's pretty good. We're having fun with each other, laughing and joking.
Marshall (Charleston): Shawn,
Was that 161-157 double OT game against New Jersey the best game you have ever played in?
Shawn Marion:
I guess it was. Looking back now, it probably was. It was just a fun
time. I can't really get into specifics, because so much happened, but
it was just a great game. And I can tell you what I was thinking in
those OTs: I was tired! I was gassed! Ha-Ha (Laughing).
Laomaobill, China: Between SF and PF, which position do you prefer to play?
Shawn Marion:
I'm a basketball player first and I will play wherever my coach wants
me to play. But, when talking about a preference, I'd go with the small
forward, because in that position I'm playing against guys my own size.
At the power forward, I'm matching up with some big fellas.
Ansonyyc, China: To What do you attribute your ability to rebound -- hard work or proper positioning?
Shawn Marion:
It's a combination of both. Also it's just having a knack for knowing
where the ball is gonna come back to you off the rim or backboard. It's
a combination of all those factors.
Jeff (Hong Kong):
Name the two sickest plays you have seen since you have been in the
NBA? And tell Nash to shave his head again he is beginning to look
scrubby.
Shawn Marion:
Two sickest plays? Hmmm. That's interesting, that's a tough question.
Probably the dunk contest Vince won, when he did all that crazy stuff.
And the second one, my second year in the league....Al Harrington
dunked on someone on our team, I forget who, and then I went down to
their end and threw one down on them! Also, last year, how about
Vince's dunk on Alonzo Mourning?!! That was sick!
Chris (London): Who is the player who you hate to have guarding you?
Shawn Marion: There is nobody I hate to see guarding me. I just go out there and play.
Enes (Orlando, FL): Steve Nash is known to be a good soccer player, but do you play any other sport besides basketball?
Shawn Marion: I like pool and bowling. And I might start with paintball.
fky123, China: How is Amare recovering from his injury? Does he look like Amare of two years ago?
Shawn Marion:
He is showing signs. Physically, you'd have to ask him that. Only a
player himself can tell you how he feels and where he is at.
Sal (Phoenix):
I am a great fan of yours, from the first time you put on the purple
and orange, but knowing how where you came from, how great would it be
for you personally to go back to Las Vegas as an All-Star?
Shawn Marion: It would be cool. I went to school there, so it would be very exciting.
Sean (Phoenix): What do you get more pleasure out of- Dunking hard on an opponent or blocking the snott out of them?
Shawn Marion:
Both. I dunno. Probably blocking, when I think about it. That's a case
where you can say, "you ain't getting nothing in this house tonight."
Rui (Lisbon, Portugal):
Hey, Shawn! I'm a longtime Suns fan and a great admirer of yours
because of your great versatility, athleticism and comitment with the
team.
I'd like to ask whom you'd pick if you were filling an All Star ballot
today (East and West). I really hope you'll make it to Vegas because
you really deserve it! Go Suns!
Shawn Marion:
That's tough. There are lots of teams playing better than other teams.
One guy, Carlos Boozer deserves to go this year and you can make a good
case for Deron Williams too.
Carlos (Providence):
Hi Shawn, first of all congrats on the current win streak, I hope you
keep it up. What do you think are the chances for Phoenix this year to
finally win that elusive championship. They've had great teams over the
years but never seem to be able to get there. Do you think this could
be the year?
Shawn Marion:
I hope so. I don't want to jinx us. We need to get this season
finished....do really well this season and then let things all hang out
in the playoffs and make a run.
Shawn Marion:
Like always, I want to thank the fans for supporting me. I really
appreciate all the help and love over the years. Thanks for everything.
