Bible Reading - Proverbs 31:1~10

31:1 The sayings of King Lemuel--an oracle(신탁) his mother taught him:

르무엘 왕의 잠언 - 그의 어머니가 그에게 가르쳤던 신탁이라.

31:2 "O my son, O son of my womb, O son of my vows(맹세),

오 내아들아, 오 내 자궁의 아들아, 오 내 맹세의 아들아.

31:3 do not spend your strength on women, 너의 기력을 여자들에게 쓰지 말며

your vigor on those who ruin kings. 너의 활기를 왕들을 멸망하는 자들에게 쓰지 말라.

31:4 "It is not for kings, O Lemuel--not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer,

오, 르무엘아, 포도주를 마시는 것은 왕들이 할 것이 아니며 맥주를 탐하는 것은 통치자들이 할 것이 아니다.

31:5 lest(~하지 않도록) they drink and forget what the law decrees(명하다),

and deprive(빼앗다,박탈하다) all the oppressed of their rights.

그들이 술을 마시고 율법이 명한 것을 잊지 않도록, 그리고 억압받는 모든 사람들의 권리를 박탈하지 않도록 말이다.

31:6 Give beer to those who are perishing(죽어가는), wine to those who are in anguish(고뇌,괴로움);

죽어가는 자에게는 맥주를 주고, 괴로움 속에 있는 자에게는 포도주를 주어라.

31:7 let them drink and forget their poverty(빈곤) and remember their misery(비참함) no more.

그들이 술을 마시고 빈곤을 잊게 하며 비참함을 더 이상 기억하지 않게 하라.

31:8 "Speak up(말을 하라) for those who cannot speak for themselves, 

for the rights of all who are destitute(극빈한, 궁핍한).

스스로 말할 수 없는 사람들과 궁핍한 모든 사람들의 권리를 위해 목소리를 내라.

31:9 Speak up and judge fairly(공정하); defend(방어하다,옹호하다) the rights of the poor and needy."

목소리를 높이고 공정하게 판단하며, 가난하고 도움이 필요한 사람들의 권리를 옹호하라.

31:10 A wife of noble(고귀한) character who can find? 고귀한 성격의 아내를 누가 찾을 수 있겠는가?

She is worth far more than rubies.그녀는 루비보다 훨씬 더 가치가 있다.
