이론과 실무의 관계 (Theorizing practice)

THEORIZING PRACTICE 

The traditional approach to the relationship between theory and practice can be characterized by the idea that we should 'apply theory to practice' - that is, begin with theory, our professional knowledge base, and then try to ' apply' it to practice. 

However, in my work, I have argued that it makes much more sense to begin with practice, real-life situations, and then explore how our knowledge base can cast light on the circumstances we find ourselves in. 

This is what I mean by 'theorizing' practice. We begin with practice and then theorize it by drawing on our knowledge base to make sense of it.

이렇게도 생각할 수 있군요.
저자가 저렇게 글로 정리하니 새롭게 와닿지만 내용이 낯설지는 않습니다.

이론과 실무는 서로를 전제하지 않습니까?
서로 보완하고 개선해 나가기도 하고요.

이론을 적용하고
실무를 이론화하는 작업을 꼭 한 사람이 해야만 하는 것은 아니겠지요.
이론가의 이론을 실무자가 적용하고
실무자의 실무를 이론가가 이론화하는 순환이 있어오지 않았습니까?

이와 관련해서(관련 없을 수도 있습니다만)
예전에 사회사업 원서 공부하면서 인상 깊었던 개념어가 있어
낮에 찾아봤는데 못 찾았습니다.

실천하기 전에 researching 하고
실천한 다음 그 결과를 다시 researching 하는 순환,
그로써 실천과 research 모두 풍성해지는 이 과정을 담은 개념인데.
