Da Ai TV began broadcasting to foreign countries via satellite in 1999, with the United States being the first country to receive the channel. Since then as satellite and wireless technology have improved, Da Ai’s message has continued to spread, helping the Tzu Chi family to grow all over the world. In our next piece we’ll visit a few volunteers abroad, as they reflect on Da Ai TV’s presence in their lives over the years. Let’s hear how Da Ai TV has been a part of people’s lives all over the world.

Lai Jincong, a Tzu Chi volunteer in Puli, Nantou County, was an alcoholic for 30 years. After he married, he quarreled with his wife all the time, making everyone in the family very upset. But after he came in contact with Tzu Chi three years ago, he made the effort to change his bad habits. His family now even goes to do recycling on weekends together and their family life has become very harmonious.
Contributing to society to be of service to others is one of the doctrines of Tzu Chi volunteers. Next we take a look at a few who have given themselves selflessly or turned their life around thanks to Tzu Chi. Let’s see how these people have found joy in life through giving.
In recent years, more and more young people are becoming certified Tzu Chi volunteers. Many of them were Tzu Chings in college like Huang Yuhan . She was a Tzu Ching in university and is now studying for her Ph.D. at National Yang-Ming University in Taipei. She was certified at the year-end ceremony last year and she hopes to give more love to society to volunteering as much as she can. Let’s hear more about her story.
In March last year, a young woman, Wu Weixin passed away at the age of 26 due to a serious case of lupus. Upon her death, she selflessly donated her cadaver to Taipei Medical University. After the death of Wu, her parents suffered from grief and loss which made them depressed. Thankfully with the help of their Tzu Chi family, the parents have since been able to cope with their loss. Here’s more.
In Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Tzu Chi volunteers are already preparing for the Lunar New Year holidays by preparing special treats for the occasion. 350 volunteers worked for over 3 weeks to prepare over 2,000 of the cakes.
