그것은 바탕화면이었다. 

내 컴퓨터의 바탕화면이 눈앞에 나타난 것이다. 

바람이 다듬은 선 고운 언덕, 

완곡한 에스라인의 푸른 초원과 

파란 물이 뚝뚝 떨어질 것 같은 하늘, 

그리고 흰구름. 



나는 그 바탕화면을 좋아한다. 

푸른 초원과 파란 하늘 

그리고 흰구름이 조화를 이루고 있는 

단순함으로 되돌아와 잠시나마 

눈과 마음의 쉼을 얻곤 했다.

탁 트인 푸른 초원, 맑고 푸른 하늘, 흰구름의 모습일까,
아니면 검은 땅, 흐린 하늘, 탁한 먹구름의 모습일까? 
누구든 찾아와도 어머님 품처럼 따뜻한 곳일까,
열 때마다 얼음처럼 차갑고 메마른 곳일까?
사람은 누구나 바탕화면이 있습니다.
그가 하는 말, 몸짓, 발걸음 하나에
얼핏얼핏 투영되어 나타납니다.
