The difference between fun and funny:

많은분들이 fun과 funny을 잘못쓰는 경우를 너무나 많이 보았습니다. 학원에서 지난주말에 뭐했어요? 라고 물으면 “I had funny at the movies”라고 답하는 사람이 많아요. 근데 저 표현은 틀렸죠? 학생이 하고 십었든 말은 “I had fun at the movies”입니다.

Fun: 재미있다
Funny: 웃긴다

틀리는 표현들을 알아 맞추어 보세요.

1. I had funny yesterday. I had fun yesterday.
2. The person was so funny.
3. I could have made it more fun.
4. He is a fun person.
5. Don’t try to be funny guy.

다양한 표현들 - 다음 문장들을 한번 해석 해보세요.

1. He’s fun to be with. 그 남자와 같이 있으면 재미있어.
2. He’s a fun person. 그 남자는 재미있는 사람이야.
3. I had a lot of fun the other day. 그날 너무나 재미있었어.
4. I had a funny experience yesterday. 어제 이상한 일이 있었어.
5. Jim Carey is such a funny guy. Jim Carey는 너무나 웃긴 사람이야.
6. Do you think it was funny? 넌 그게 웃기 다고 보니?
7. I like to play computer games for fun. 난 재미로 computer game을 하는걸 좋아해.
8. It was a funny situation. 그 상황은 이상했어.
9. The man didn’t think it was funny. 그 남자는 웃기지 않다고 생각해.
10. It’s funny how things turn out. 참 결과가 그렇게 대는게 웃긴다.

Also, for our Korean readers, please note that "FUN" is not interesting and interesting is not "FUN". 재미있다 in Korean can mean interesting or fun but interesting and fun are not the same in English. 재미있죠?
